  • This song. Best isis song out there. And that's saying a lot.

  • This is THE most appropriate song to play when your changing between guitars as an intermission.

  • @ZombicidalMan That's EXACTLY how I feel. Spot on, man.

I only came here because I was randomly clicking Isis videos (I love the Isis comments like yours). I usually go to the Isis videos that have the entire album for listening. You MUST listen to the entire album in order to get the spectacular feel of Isis as a whole.

  • idk why but i think the pic looks awesome in 240p kinda sets the mood at the begining

  • Just learned it on guitar. Yyyyyeeess !!!

  • Charles Onyett sent me here!

  • This song is so beautiful.

  • i wish they didnt break up, but things happen for a reason i guess

  • i listened to this on my ipod while tanning in the carribean...the whole oceanic album... ignoring the fact that i believe it has to do with a suicide or murder/suicide...pretty gloomy concept. beautiful marine soundscapes and music all together. i made an isis fanpage with a good amount of people. havent updated it in years but check it out... its got a panopticon profile picture.

  • In all honesty, when I first started listening to Isis, I didn't care much for the lyrics. Now, after listening to Aaron's growling vocas for so long, I find it hard to listen to any other metal at all. He almost uses his voice as another instrument... Sure each of their albums has it's own background and theme, but you can tell in his delivery, the music comes first; the lyrics seamlessly blend in.

  • So fucking sad ... beautiful :)

  • pure epicness

  • one of the coolest songs ive heard. thank you isis

  • And the water takes hold... <3

    Fucking beautiful song.

  • @rugerwasmydog couldn't have said it better myself.

  • The only thing I don't about Isis is the vocals. Otherwise it's a fucking great band.

  • @Th3Emp3r0r the vocals i would say are an acquired taste. when i first heard of this band i said, "who the fuck would listen to this?". the more i listened to it the more it sounded better, and then became my favorite band.

  • ISIS - 1818

  • gosh i love this song

by the way Dudes, just fund some great stuff on youtube, and i've GOT the share the info

a band call lizZard, THIS IS some new and impressive stuff, i guess from the Same Planet as Maynard James Keenan is from....

    take a look on youtube:

    LizZard The Orbiter

  • In water.

    In water!

    IN WATAAAAAAAAAH!

  • Had tears in my eyes when they played this song live.

So thankful I saw these guys back in the days and the played the whole oceanic album, back to front. This is their best song, to me. So much emotion/ They were so good on stage.. Get back together...pleeeeeeaase

  • This song transports my soul to a parallel universe where there's just calm, peace and air flowing. just close your eyes...

  • @Jorvas25 YES!

  • that's really awesome. such a good piece of music

  • possibly the best band ever.

  • Through quiet meditation in complete sensory deprivation except for this album playing, I constructed an entire short story of what ideas came to my head from each song. I put them together and made a story. It would be the best fucking album/movie ever! :D

I love all you ISIS fans out there, you're some of the deepest and smartest people out there with a real appreciation for music.

  • @MrLanDaddy thank you kind sir!

  • @MrLanDaddy oh i'm sorry, i love isis, but i can't keep my mout shot, that's fucking shallow man.

  • awesome

  • In my opinion, Isis, is more of a full album band. What I mean to say, is that often these amazing songs lose a lot of that sort of flow, that feel to them, that they have when played with the others. This song, to me, is interesting, and pretty great, but put it together with the rest of the album songs, and damn... it's spectacular. You haven't listened to Isis if you haven't listened to a full album.

  • i can careless what ppl say about this band. To me, Isis is one of my favorite bands ever. I love everything about them. It helps me chill and just think.

  • To everyone else... opinions?

  • @Crepin1up I love hard rock, grunge, alt rock, metal, and generally music that sounds intense or angry, but I consider myself a pretty mellow dude. I know plenty of ppl who listen to death metal and other hardcore shit but personality-wise you'd think they listen to indie. ppl are all different, ya know?

  • @Crepin1up I listen to a lot of metal; death, black, avant garde, some post rock-metal, radiohead, tool, etc, but I am generally a mellow person, and most people say the same when they meet me. Im intense in my passions sure, but i am a pretty laid back person, and i have a generous sense of humor. My point being, not all metal fans have an angry demeanor but, I'd wager that metal allows people to express anger/intense emotions through a healthy and cathartic avenue of creativity

  • Funny how I listen to explosions in the sky, and all the comments are about how good people feel after listening to it. I listen to this angry music while reading angry people's comments.

    Now consider this:

Does music inspire a person's view on life? Or is it the person's view on life that inspire's their taste in music? Did this song cause these folks below this post to get hostile towards eachother, or were they hostile in the first place, listening to this song?

  • @Crepin1up Angry music? what angry music you cunt! LOL

No it does not, them people below are just knobs.

  • @redcommando1 From 4 minutes on, yes. ISIS is angry.

  • @Crepin1up People below are idiot ISIS on the other hand is an amazing band you cant prove that wrong and so are The Explosions in the sky

  • @blackmanorigins I wasn't trying to tell anyone this band is bad. Not my taste, sure, but I can admit there's talent and emotion in this band for sure. Keep listening to what you enjoy. Also, awesome that you enjoy Explosions.

  • @Crepin1up Isis is angry?

  • @hojima After 4 minutes. It's deep chords and the guyis screaming incomprehensible words.. I'd say that's angry.

  • @Crepin1up i think that your philosophy on music and a person's life is interesting but your point is ignorant and close minded.

  • @Physc0o I don't see how my point is ignorant and close minded... In fact, no point was made. I just stated what I've witnessed: Explosions songs tend to have euphoric comments, whereas comments for this ISIS song seemed very hostile. It's just my opinion that this song seems angry, or violent, at least from 4 minutes on.. since it's heavy metal with the vocalist screaming I really don't know what; I think that's a fair opinion.

I never made a point so I don't know what you're talking about.

  • @Crepin1up the point was that people who listen to isis are angry. i honestly dont care so lets end this conversation here.

  • @Physc0o cretin granny licker kisser. and i actually like maroon 5.

  • @Crepin1up i think it could go both ways, or neither it just depends on the person

  • @Crepin1up ISIS is FARRRRRRRRRRRR from angry friend listen to some death metal now that is angry ISIS is more hm how should i call it spiritual.

  • @blackmanorigins There's a difference betweenwhat I'd call "brutal" (death metal) and "angry" (Isis at times). Listen to those raw, emotional growls around 4:22. I've been a fan of post metal and death metal for a long time, but when it comes to expressing anger, I'd have to give it to Isis.

  • @davethehostage ISIS is brutal as hell i know but i would never call them angry i dont think that is theyr goal in music to be angry we all know that isis does some epic deep spiritual music (thats what i think anyways).

  • @blackmanorigins Early Isis was definitely angry. In fact if you read some interviews Aaron says they've mellowed out a lot over their career and lost a lot of their anger. This is fairly clear with increased use of ambiance and clean vocals in the last 3 albums. Thats not to detract at all. Its really the unique blend of anger/brutality and beauty that makes Isis the band it is/was.

  • Remember! Whatever sounds good to your ears may not be good to someone else...again, that's just human nature because we're greedy like that, but you also have to accept criticism too on the same token to keep your cool.

Are we perfect? No. There are Billions of people on this Earth, and we have different tastes. The real answer is this...If it's good to your ears and you like it, that is real music.

  • There is a lot of debate on what real music is... Our brains are 60% structural fat after all...we pick up the sounds, the pieces that we are used to hearing overtime.

Everyone of us makes assumptions and judge another person's taste in music as we grow older, and we debate...that's just human nature, and that's what I did last time to the people that disliked this song. Am I perfect? No I am not...real music is what you like, whatever you're used to listening to.

  • @Bastardoom... I know what real music is, and @ScrewLimpBizkit freedom of speech man! Don't tell me what I can or can't say.

  • @EricSchwin22 oh really? so can you even tell what real music means?, and under what judgment it's good or bad? (you probably can't answer so don't worry, my point is done)

  • This song is ultimate.

  • at 5:36 this song defeats my ability to retain my sanity.

  • 3 dislikes...haha, okay go back and listen to your materialistic BLING BLING RAP! We'll listen to the real stuff.

  • @EricSchwin22 hahah! there's no accounting for taste

  • @EricSchwin22

kid shut the hell up and just enjoy the song

  • @ScrewLimbBizkit whats with your name dude? whys limp bizkit so bad?

  • @nikthedick123

i don't have a problem with them, i made it when I was 13 and really immature.

  • @ScrewLimbBizkit oh okay. cool with me man. i lost most immaturity at 9.

  • @EricSchwin22 "real stuff", it's funny, you make it sound like you really know something about music lol

"I am the acidic rebirth of your kind.

I am the stare in your eyes,

    The smile in your heart,

    The chill in your touch,

    The benevolence in your soul.

My words are those you miss sub-consciously,

Those of a thousand evils and a million beauties."

Not that ISIS should do anything but whatever the hell they want.

  • I love ISIS....

  • it's like a song of dying, i think its heart felt

  • I hate people opions, They always dissagree with my own...

  • Rather odd that you then provide your opinion on opinions.

  • That was the point of the comment =P

  • @vDepthCharge and you add yours and I add mine. It's a big circle in which identifying with that of another, we find in ourselves.

  • @vDepthCharge i think every opinion that everyone has an opinion too are free to share their opinion on any given opinion. but thats just my opinion...

  • @dicaloops4oo The comment it was a reply to is now long gone. If I recall correctly I was calling them out on being a hypocrite. For giggles mainly.

  • This is my favourite song of all time. Not exaggerating

  • perfect.

  • Listening to this song is a life-changing experience

  • OMG!! this music is one of the best i ever heard =)

  • In my opinion this band is the true progenitors of post-metal. The true birth. A titan among men.......

  • you sound extremely pretentious

  • I was looking for something that had a similar feel to Godspeed You Black Emperor!, but less long and drawn out, this wins.

  • Best song on Isis's best album. Seeing and hearing this on the Oceanic tour was mind-altering for me.

  • i heard the spooky drawn out chords for this at the Wavering Radiant tour show in DC last weekend, last song of the set before encore. I broke down... I can't believe they played it - it is definitely one of their best songs if not the best. I had put the lyrics to this on my facebook page the night before in hopes I'd hear it... the gods smiled upon me :)

  • i think "the beginnig and the end" is the bst one
