  • horn(music) (in) the middle(yourheart)!!

  • Miles Davis- Joshua

  • I love how he added a John Coltrane interview in this one. You can tell just by his work that mid 50's - mid 60's jazz was a huge influence on him.

  • RIP NUJABES (February 19, 1974 February 26, 2010)

    From Boston

  • amazing song from an amazing DJ.

    long live nujabes' music.

RIP nujabes - you'll be missed

  • As a huge jazzfan myself I applaud this, if your instrument are the turntables then you're probably making better music if you're sampling from great music/artists

  • woah o-o

  • If I saw a horn in the middle

Of something, I would think it was a riddle.

It just doesn't seem to make sense.

How could it have gotten there? Its dense

Texture, and white colour; I probably saw it

    On a picture, of an animal of any other, species;

Then, like a jigsaw puzzle, I picked up the pieces

And put them all together, to form the profile,

Of an animal sitting on rubble; wouldn't have feathers,

It looked hostile, with its rough, wrinkled skin

  • It may have no feathers, but there was a bird on its back,

Digging like search for treasure, repeated this over again,

And I'm surprised the animal didn't attack

It looked like the bird was threatening him,

With his sharp stab, but looking again, on the brim,

    He was trying to grab some of the insects;

I guess I was too quick to inspect,

But I wonder if the bird did this out of respect,

Or because he is looking for a meal,

Ready to feel an appeal of satisfaction,

  • Onto his desire for eating bugs. How strange For him to do such elaborate extraction, To which the animal shrugs, and feels no physical pain. Sorry, if the way I talk about this seems eccentric But I look at things with astonishment, And I am always comprehensive. There's always a new accomplishment. And everything is unfamiliar, But I think of it as authentic. I see the reality in what I perceive, Whether it be music or to God's creation, The things on Earth for us to receive;
  • He placed it in amounts as much as constellations, Numerous as the stars, streaming through the nation, Through the skies, blessed with attentive eyes, Especially mine. Getting back to the horn, I think once again, to make imagination reborn. I see the figure of the creature, Observing more of its features, Besides the bird, there are many words Of description I can find for him; I can hear him making a sound like roaring then. And others run away like they're ignoring him.
  • The animal, looking at him, is incredibly large;

Looks like he'd make a mighty charge,

Has something I've heard was the same name

As the back hood of a car, that's what they claim.

It's very useful, for him to reach places that are fruitful

That he munches down on with such speed,

Unfitting for an animal so maternal,

Because he eats like he is full of greed,

But I suppose it is only because he is of massive size,

A thought I'll keep eternally, perhaps to write in a journal,

  • Like a man of adventure would do for research.

My mind wanders; first things first,

I focus once again on what I was observing,

In the process, I see his tail, that sways

And begins swerving away, from his gray

Hide, which probably could swipe flies aside.

And his feet, that stomps with trembling force,

Like an athlete, he clumsily runs on his course.

I notice many things about him, and I know what he is.

From some information, I learned that he's an elephant,

  • Which I look with fascination; he's a wondrous beast, With the evidence of intelligence, And powers of recall, and he's quite elegant, Although he could destroy us all; many elements That are certainly not irrelevant. I wish I had mental medicine; I think I hallucinate; Just a horn in the middle, and I elucidate To my endless thoughts that don't dissipate. The horn in the middle reminded me of that beast All the way east, from here, in African lands. I would be quite grand, to understand
  • More of the elephant; this could expand

My boundaries to a whole new pinnacle,

And although cynical, it seems amazing

More than my words could be phrasing.

That horn in the middle; is it a riddle?

I've got it pretty much figured out.

I have no doubts, in the view I sprout.

    Elephants, majestic but precarious,

  • Wondrous in many areas.

    They give off instinctive barriers,

Not always most furious, not piteous, And certainly not hideous.

A horn in the middle reminded me

Of that expressive side of me,

You see, my mind goes free.

  • The lyrics are actually an interview of John Coltrane in 1960. I have just watched/listened to it right now here on Youtube. Very nicely done.

  • Lol this is a nice one from nujabes.this would nice if they some1 used this to bboy to

  • i love this feel good music! my favorite is guy in this genre Parov Stelar !

  • @Coolman9273 lmao i played this for me and my friends to bboy to and they loved it. In other words hell yes ur right! lmao

  • This sounds more like a Cowboy Bebop track than a S. Champloo track.

  • yeah it does. but nujabes doesnt only do samurai champloo songs ;p

  • I've been so free, I've been so free here. Y'know, with the album. If there's anything I wanna try, I'm welcome to do it. Y'know, so that's uh the freedom of experimentin'.

I heard you was uh, splittin' in last (quinteteer)?

and findin' something on your own?

    Yes, I am.

    How's that. With whom?

I have uh I have several men in mind, but I haven't selected exactly something quartet.

    A quartet?

  • b-boy music :)

  • Nujabes never fails to surprise me this is an ultimate jazz fusion makes me think of cowboy bebop

  • Ur a fucking idiot. When it comes to DJ's. Either they sample things to use as a foundation, or they can make their own beats. That's it. But the amount of variations are vast.

Check yo self before you wreck yo self.

  • That's how a miles davis sample is done son!!!

  • dope ness

  • cool but i like piano black better....

  • Hehe.. Perfect Jazz.. Good work .. Nice..

    Keep it that way Nujabes..

  • I just imported this album from Japan. I can't wait until it gets here.
