  • why did you put a 6 spd in that gt

  • @e303gt

well i knew a guy local selling it so it kinda fell in my lap, he was going auto in his 03 Cobra.

But i did it because they are strong, and i sent this one to ProMotion to be built, and have great gear spacing. Tall in first gear so it launches softer but once its rolling the gear spacing is much better than the 5-spd.

  • i know this might sound kinda dumb. but what are bolt ons???

  • @2003Raptor660rLE

it means just basic parts that "bolt-on" to the motor... intake, exhaust, pulleys; shit like that.

  • Oh I hear ya

  • Iwannagtr- I have driven a z, it had a 6 speed and brembos. Pretty nice car too. But also 8-10k more than my gt with 45k miles. Point is when you have fully built cars then mustang has the advantage, the mustang will likely win. Even part for part the 3v gt and z are great cars to match. Swap a 5.0-5.4-5.8. No idea what size the z will bore to?

  • Well the motor I'm saying is fully built for that hp rating. As in forged and ported. I thought you said something about the glass rear ends? 31 spline axles are very strong, but it does need a new diff. idk just my 2 cents really. For like $30k you can build a mustang nicely to 800rwhp. Built motor, 6 speed, built rear, full suspension, etc.

  • @Turbo05gt

I was talking about the shitty 10-bolt GM used in the F-body.

  • another spoiled fcking brat buying a z and cant drive for shit!!!!!

  • Qrthrs22 idk really what your talking about. You can buy a crate 2011 5.0 for $12k and it's rated for 1khp. Look at mmr site to find it. Second the 05+ gts have 31 spline axles. Other than tht your right I guess.

  • @Turbo05gt

I dont/wouldnt use anything MMR, and powdered metal stock rods dont like 1000hp, i dont care what magazine numbers say.

And i know 05+ cars get 31-splines, i used to have one... but what does that have to do with anything i said?

I guess im not really understanding what your post is eluding to...

  • Weak i got a mustang 01 smoked hondas like nothin

  • @tripzlokote

    o

    k

  • @qtrhrse22 wack as mustang...they all lose to chevy power..haha moron racing civics cuz thats all you can race?

  • @krazzyyo2 wtf are you talkin about... i have no vids of me racing civics first off. Secondly this 350z owner is a friend of mine and he just wanted to see. I knew what would happen.

Thirdly, always lose to chevy power hahahaha. Look at my other vids, i think there is a LS camaro in there that would beg to differ. Chevy is cheaper to build than Ford, not faster ;)

  • @qtrhrse22 Lol very nice. Pleases me to see someone putting those kids in place.

  • @qtrhrse22 Um, no... Mustang has the biggest aftermarket of any vehicle on the road and is therefore cheaper to get parts for. They have the biggest aftermarket because everybody owns one. I prefer things that not as many people have. Otherwise, who really gives a shit?

I never once had a stock Mustang beat my stock 99' LS1 at the track, which is where you should be racing anyway. Not the street... Let's see some 12.820 1/4 mile times from a "stock" Mustang GT.

  • @Davew277

price parts for a modular motor and then price em for an SBC... you can get cams for 250-300, came for a 2V are 600 at least. The ONE AND ONLY aftermarket heads are 2000 dollars. How many companies offer heads for an LS based engine?

Mod motor is much more expensive to build than LS series shit dude...

and i know what they are capable of, me ex has a 00 SS Camaro, its rolls hard for sure. But for someone to say that "they all lose to Chevy power" is ignorant.

  • @qtrhrse22 @qtrhrse22 I agree. I never said that, someone else did. I was merely pointing out that Mustang has a bigger and cheaper aftermarket.

The driver is the best mod any car can have

  • @Davew277

I will agree that the Mustang has a much bigger aftermarket... but the engines are more expensive to build. Just the way it is.

Cams cost more, stock ported heads cost what aftermarket heads cost for you, shortblocks cost more too. A 320 cube modular shortblock is about 6000...

Take a gander at the ONLY aftermarket valve train for us, Jesel... make sure you are drinking anything when you look at the price or youll need a new keyboard.

  • @Davew277

and for the record, my 04 went 12.88 @ 104 with exhaust, cai, 4.10's

yea not stock, but not exactly highly modified either

  • @qtrhrse22 Not stock either. I did the ram air mod and removed the air baffler and got a best of 12.4 with a low 1.8 60'. But that's not stock anymore... it's listed at dragtimes.

  • @Davew277

yea, they def make power, and a nice powerband too. Even a great stock suspension design, SLA & TA/PHB is light years ahead of our McPherson 4-link setup. Only drawback is the glass rear-end they gave you.

point is, both cars can do it... just pick one and drive. I know its rivalry so i know shit will fly... but ignorant comments are just that.

  • @qtrhrse22 I don't even own that car anymore. That was back in 2000, I just used it for an example. Since then I've owned 2 350z. I went to turbo my last one, a 2007, and found out it was going to cost $15 grand for it to be done properly...

Now I ride sport bikes. There are very few street legal cars that can hope to touch me. I can go 200 mph for cheaper than the turbo would have cost. The thrill can't be had in a car either. It's like riding a missile. Feed the need. :)

  • @Davew277 LS1's are the SHIT dude, amazing engines, i just sold my 93 LT1 Z28 yesterday and even with a pcm failure i beat a 2000's body style GT while i had 2 others in the car and he was by himself.

  • @ModMob

then either he wasnt racing or he couldnt drive... maybe both. LT1's are a good match for PI cars, they def dont slaughter them.

And thats if the optispark doesnt give out mid run.

  • @qtrhrse22 no he was definatley racing, when i didnt take it out of OD he beat me but once i down shifted and we raced again i mossed him, and honestly I was expecting to lose considering the PCM failure and the 2 extra people..but i leapt ahead and he stuck with me but i was slowly pulling the entire time.. if I didnt have 2 extra people and the pcm wasnt failing i would have just walked away

  • @ModMob

Ive always owned audi/vw but I bought a 02 GT in 06 put 272 cams, headers, intake and exhaust on it while a good friend of mine has a 98 Z28 auto with headers intake exhaust shift kit intake manifold and tune its not even really a race. Cams wake up the 2V BIG TIME. thats its problem watch every race, it hangs then falls away due to the truck valve train. a cammed LS1 is fast too but an equal 2v will run right with it.

  • @RaudiAudiT A friend of mine works on the LS-F Bodies and his heads/cam/bolt on Z28 is in the 11's. but if the LS1 and the 4.6 had the same mods i would have to put my money on the LS1, and the ls1's in the 98's really werent that fast :( Rated 305hp by Chevy and i actually test drove a 98 TA today and it felt very slow :(

  • @qtrhrse22 i believe him...the fastest honda they make does a 15 second 1/4 mile...

  • that mustang has a lot of mods done to it. the gears alone would make a huge difference. the Z only had an intake and catback. not surprised it lost.

  • Whats bog? Noo im not trollin im new to the car thing and soaking up everything possible.

  • @iGraffSCAR

Bog means the car is low in its torque curve and is sluggish on the hit... like say starting at 2k rpm and flooring it. Now do it again but from 4500 rpm, its like two different cars.

  • at a 40mph roll, what gear are yall in when you race??

  • @iGraffSCAR

40 is a second gear bog for me... but its too fast for 1st

  • ok that z should have won an 04 gt would not stand a chance against an 08 350z unless it has a good amount of mods i have an 04 z with the DE motor and its pretty even between me and my buddy's 04 gt and mines stock and his has a cold air and exhaust. the 08 has the new motor with twin intakes more power and a higher revving motor stock for stock the z would win that mustang is not stock

  • @dudeerotime who said it was stock it clearly says in the description what it has.

  • @dudeerotime That mustang had pretty much every bolt on...I'm a Z fan, but this mustang is fast.

  • Cams in the mustang FTW.

  • the z got its buthole destroyed

  • If the Z had won, half the negative comments wouldn't be here.

    Haters gonna hate.

  • @001736743

yea... they would. Just on the reverse side. Someone will always have something negative to say.

  • @001736743 they get even more furious when a bike rapes their dreams. haha

  • #teamMustang

  • Nice mustang, ok z I guess. I hate when ignorant people argue that " add a corner and see what happens" it's sooo stupid. Why would you think a mustang can't corner? Must watch to much topgear lol. Mine corners really well for only a set of eibach 2" drop springs. I'm goin to do sway bars and a roll bar. Not alot but it's out handle 98% of cars I see daily. So quit being ignorant

  • @Turbo05gt more like Z add horsepower see what happens right? lol its a straight line did you expect a curve on the interstate?

  • @Turbo05gt "Why would you think a mustang can't corner?" Well, because compared to the Z, it can't...I have a '99 GT with some suspension mods and it handles well, but not better than my stock G35 sedan.

  • @ambientflier yeah cause all those Nissan's in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge are absolutely running the field...oh wait, there aren't any Nissan's and the Mustang's hold 1st in points. My bad.

  • @96t5wagon I'm not talking about race cars...That's a little different. You can't argue with the fact that a stock 350Z will outhandle a stockish Mustang.

  • @Turbo05gt its not being ignorant its the real deal, America makes cars to drag race in other words going in a straight line, japan makes cars to race many kinds of circuits. add a corner and it WILL make a difference, drive a Z and see for you self.

  • @Turbo05gt

You are missing the fact that the Z comes with sway bars stock. Also the mustang has a shitty live rear axel much like what a wagon has. Also i'm assuming you think your mustang handles good bc you've not driven something that actually does handle. You're probably comparing it to your granny's lincoln towncar. In that case it does handle good.

  • @jabba12000

Mustang comes with sway bars stock as well... and the live rear axle handles just fine. Def not shitty, ask a new Boss 302 owner how a stick axle handles. Plus a stick axle is light and very strong, not to mention tires is always planted, no rear camber or toe issues.

The worst part of Mustang handling is the crappy camber curve of the modified McPherson front suspension and the rear upper control arm bind coupled with the understeer the engineers gave it.

  • @jabba12000

I'm a euro guy, Ive owned and driven many of germany and england's best handling cars which trump all but the most exotic from the rest of the world and what ford has done for making a live axle handle is amazing. Mustang FR500's and their 90's predecessors have won a TON of road races over BMWs RX8s Porsches Camaros and the like and they all have IRS. Dont be ignorant.

  • @RaudiAudiT

maybe so but they still should jump into modern times and do away with the live rear axel. I believe the rouche or saleen one do away with the live rear axels and it makes a huge difference in both handleing and 0-60. The live rear axel is the reason why the bmw M3 edges out the 5.0 in performance even tho it is less powerful and heavier.

  • @jabba12000

First, its Roush, secondly neither Roush nor Saleen do away with the live axle.

Its also not the reason the M3 edges out a Coyote, which is arguable... and the Boss will eat an M3, still on a stick axle.

Stick axle def doesnt hurt 0-60... as an IRS squats in a straight line launch it loses contact patch as the tires go through the camber curve. Stick axle doesnt have those issues and its lighter.

  • @qtrhrse22

well however it is spelled. Obviously i don't follow mustangs so i wouldn't know. However i do watch top gear and its obvious you don't because there is an episode where they review some form of mustang and mention it has a live rear axel. Furthermore they mention that "roush" replaced the shit live rear axel with a "proper" axel. And yes the m3 is faster around a track because i also recieve motortrend in the mail and they put the 5.0 against the m3 and the m3 won around the track.

  • @jabba12000

    Magazine racing :smh:

You are right, i dont like BBC Top Gear, as i feel they are awfully biased and obviously they dont have their facts straight either. No one pulls the SRA out of em and puts in an IRS. They might upgrade the 3-link/Panhard Bar setup to a Watts-Link but no IRS. There isnt even an IRS conversion made for the cars dude.

The only Mustangs with IRS are 99-04 Cobra's, and a lot of the very serious handling guys, like Griggs Racing, remove it for an SRA

  • Comment removed

  • @qtrhrse22

the mag racing was done with a prefessional driver. When a rustang with stock wagon axels does something remarkable i'll be the first to let you know. But i assure you that roush got rid fo that horrible rear end and gave it a MODERN rear axel. If yo ubelive that isn't an upgrade then you are just proving how dumb you are. I've raced many mustangs on twisty roads with my old 350z and i never lost. they simply couldn't hang the twisties. Believe what you want but i know first hand.

  • @jabba12000

WOW... ive been building Mustangs for 12 years man, I think i know about the rear-axle. Roush has never removed the SRA in favor of an IRS. Neither has Saleen.

Go ahead and believe Clarkson, i dont care.

  • @jabba12000

Oh and since SRA's just CANT handle twisties... how does it make you feel that a Griggs GR40 equipped 98 Cobra convertible owns the record in the Ferrari Club Virginia City Hill Climb... yup, thats right, faster than Ferrari in their own hillclimb event.

And guess what... the car has an SRA :)

youtube: Griggs GR40 Mustang at Virginia City Hill Climb

  • @qtrhrse22

i don't give a shit. probably because a bunch of mid life crisis faggits where driving their ferraris out there. The fact that you keep eluding to is that the live axel is dated.. I'm not saying stangs suck.I'm american and i love domestics i just put my $11k to use with a 400rwhp 300zxtt.Its just my point america could do better having it's pony use something better than a live rear axel. I want mustang to be america's gtr. but it lacks techno. Which it really needs to be top dog

  • @jabba12000

LOL, and the M3 lapped faster in the hands of a pro driver around Willow by less than a tenth of a second, and the Mustang was faster in the hands on an average driver.

And it even says in the article that the live axle was fine; it was a damping problem.

  • @qtrhrse22

in the hand of a PROFESSIONAL is what really matters. The average joe could go either way of course. And if you read closer your remeber where he said i quote " The shocks can handle the car up to 60 to 70mph.At 80,90,100mph,we have really challenging set of curving bumps and braking zones for which the shocks are OVERMATCHED." If we were racing a prius this would be ok. But this is a 400+hp car that easily goes 90+ where it begins to lose control bc of it's wagon axel.

  • @jabba12000

So you quote where the magazine says the shocks were overmatched at high speed... then you turn around and blame it on the SRA??

Do you actually read what you write?

Oh and you so conveniently leave out the fact that the PRO driver felt the Mustang was overall better balanced and had less understeer than the M3.

  • @Turbo05gt I agree completely. My stang hits turns harder than any of my friends cars. I live in the north GA mountains and fly down the twisty roads with 25mph warning signs at 60+mph no problem.

  • I still like the z no matter what..I like the look not speed..

  • I use to drive the 2008 350z (vq35hr engine) and stock vs stock against my now 2005 mustang GT, it would be pretty even. They're just two different beasts. My buddies and i use to go up the back mountains of Ojai in CA and going 65 around corners felt natural. The mustang feels iffy at that speed. My friend drives a 300ZX and loses me up there now.

  • just put 1 corner in this an the nissan will pass that mustang .

Anyway mod v8 will eat stock v6 all day ....

  • @bobilator1

you sure about that? What makes you think my car cant handle? Dont tell me you have the premonition that Mustangs "cant" handle.....

  • @qtrhrse22 He is assuming that you haven't touched the suspension, roll bars, tires, etc... And he has good reason, becasue its not listed under "mods" in your video description... Stock to stock, Nissan eats the mustang in the corners... I would know because I own an 08 350z and my buddy drives an 06 v8 stang gt... But in a straight line its a different story :( Both are great cars.

  • @80sguitarplayer

yea, i dont list all my mods in every video lol. They pertinent mods are listed. Lisiting what springs/struts are on the car has zero to do with this video. But, if you are wondering, car has AeroSpace 4-piston brakes all 4 corners w/ Hawk HPS pads and SS lines, Strange 10-way adjustable struts/shocks, coil-overs, MM caster/camber plates, 03 Cobra steering rack, MM Bumpsteer kit, MM FL SFC's, Team Z Upper and Lower control arms, ect....

  • @80sguitarplayer oh and it rides on BBS RK wheels 18x8.5/10 staggered with 265/35 Toyo R1R up front and 315/30 Toyo R888 out back. And if i happen to be on my stock wheels it wears 255/40 Dunlop Star Specs

  • @qtrhrse22 Don't really care to be honest. The context of my comment never asked for your cars specs in specifics. I was just backing bobilator up.

  • @80sguitarplayer well, to be honest, do you really think people list every mod done to their car in video's... why would i list suspension mods in a roll race vid? He was ASSuming and he actually has no clue.

  • @qtrhrse22 Sorry miss. I guess you're always right (;

  • @qtrhrse22 solid axle rear end would be where i started the arguement

  • @generalelectro yes, that couldve actually started a useful, informative conversation. LOL

The solid axle def has its limitations in handling, but it has a lot of pro's too. A properly setup stick axle can hold its own, but a Mustang's stock 4-link def isnt the way. A proper torque arm and panhard bar/watts link would do much better. Its much stronger than an IRS and lighter as well.

  • no shit the stang was gonna win with all those mods lol stock for stock he wouldve been fucked, but you have to ask yourself, is it really all worth it?

  • @GrabbinSomeHAX

everyone says that... but ive raced em back when i was stock or very very close to it, even some bolt-on ones. Ive always pulled em.

Bone stock for Bone stock... maybe, but i wouldnt say raped, but i could see it being faster. I just think the Mustang bolts-on stronger and cheaper and the Z cars arent as light as people think.

and sure its worth it, to me at least. I love hotrodding cars.

  • @GrabbinSomeHAX

and i really like Z's, so no disrespect... my mom drives an 04 Touring Roadster with a CAI, Stillen Center-exit catback, Stillen whale-tail spoiler, and some other small visual mods. Fun as hell to drive and the VQ engine sounds fantastic.

  • @qtrhrse22 lol you dont have to tell me, i own one

  • @GrabbinSomeHAX What is your definition of worth it? Some drivers think it's "worth it" to take a 4 banger and turn it into a ricer, which they "think" is fast. Some drivers think it's "worth it" to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on a car that could get beat by a cheaper car. It all just depends on what you want, and in the end, that's all that matters.

  • @MrClutch1999 im saying like if you look at all the knock around conversations, is building your car really worth it? like its one thing to have a nice car but if you look at the logistics of everything its kinda like....wtf why is this important...its the same with sports

  • I hate how everybody and their sister thinks the new edge GT is slow.

Most jackasses on here have probably raced a V6 with duals and gt badges. 260HP 302TQ STOCK for a almost ten year old car is MORE than enough to whip half these faggots ass's period the end.

  • @blunts4dayzzz

speed is always relative, stock New Edge and stock Z is fast to some and slow to others... GT Mustangs get no respect cause most douchbags dont know how to build em and most stang drivers think they are fast.

  • @qtrhrse22 Agreed, Bad ass 04 GT btw, How much did your cams run you for parts/install?

  • @blunts4dayzzz

cams were 550 and i installed them myself, degree'd them with an adjustable trickflow crank sprocket.

  • i noticed some of these 350 drivers on youtube dont know what they are doing behind the wheel lol.

  • @mattandtessa66 +1

people underestimate the power of a good driver. Some people got it and some people dont lol

  • missed his gear and let out.

  • @itsmemiiiiike

    whatever makes you feel better...

  • How fast were you goin

  • @389MXRIDER

to be honest, i dont remember 100%... 30-45 or somewhere in between.

  • Nice! I have a 02 Mustang GT 5 speed. C.A.I. Flowmasters. X-Pipe. Longtube Headers. Comp Cams. Throttle Body. Suspension work. 11 inch rear wheel etc..btw no tune. I raced an 09 with Cold Air. Full exhaust. and a few other things? from a launch I destroyed him. from a 35 roll I prolly had him by maybeeee oh I dont know. 5 cars. lol FORD FTW!

  • Damn, what's your Mustang GT making at the wheels? My bone stock HR 350z ('08) pulls pretty easily on '99-'04 Mustang GTs (stock or with simple bolt-ons), especially from a roll. Nice run, though.

  • @IXScroungerXI

back when this video was shot it was making right at 306rw,

i keep hearing HR's outrun PI cars, even with bolt-ons... but even when my car only made 271rw i put 1.5-2 cars on another friends HR with test pipes, single pipe, and CAI. He even tried a different driver to see if it was his fault. I would always get him through the gears, and he would level me off in 4th.

  • How do you like the T-56? The title would confuse some people since the Gt's of that year never came in 6 spd.

  • @ImportDreams500

I like it fine... it doesnt shift as smooth as the 5-speeds but i go through it fine. It also has a lot less gear in 1st, so it feels more sluggish out of the whole, even with 4.10's, but after that its on. Gear spacing is much tighter than the 5-speeds so it doesnt lose the rpm on the shift. Keeps me in the meat.

  • FINALLY!! some1 on youtube who can drive! great drivin in the mustang. powershifted the shit outta them gears lol!! thats how its done. Both cars are noce as hell too

  • @mattrotten thanks

  • my friend says he cant here the Nissan accelerating, now i think hes retarded

  • @metalkindofguy16

LOL... you can see the front of his car pick up and fall as he shifts, and you can hear is car on the shift. Tell him to get over it.

  • @qtrhrse22 dont worry i did.. hahah i even showed it to him 3 times when they first accerated

  • 4.10s in mustang?

  • what cams.

  • @wonderbreadkw

MHS/Bullet cams, Pacaloy Springs... TFS crank sprocket to degree them.

  • american muscle

  • Stang mustve had an undisclosed shot of nitrous, because a stock HR Z will assfuck a new edge with those mods.

  • @CockYaLegS

Sorry dude... no nitrous. I promise it woulda been WAYYY worse had a sprayed him lol.

If you think HR's can dog out bolt-on New Edge's you run into the wrong Mustangs. Given most people dont know how to build a car... the devil is in the details ;)

my car is only making 305rwhp in this video...

  • @CockYaLegS cams son. it's the camzzzz

  • @CockYaLegS why does everyone say that when ive seen gt's kill a stock hr Z and a nismo350z they may make near the same power but its all depends on the driver

  • 4 people own 350z's

  • @MrClutch1999 5 including me

  • how the fuck do you call that vs if that 35oz seemed he didn't want to race

  • @benitezdb

LOL.. get the sand out of your vag. Seeing that he asked me to race, im pretty sure he wanted to. I told him he had no chance; he didnt believe me.

  • what parts are needed to support the T56 trans on a gt PLZ MESSAGE ME!!!

  • @cdscondor

    done

  • @qtrhrse22 hey man what kinda gears you have ? and how much power will you get from 3.73 gears bbk intake and a flowmaster exhaust with h pipe on a 03 mustang gt premium stock to the filter all factory and a nice street tune, im thinking about some mods and those are my first on the list ,then headers/cams/intake manifold.... give me some advice here bro

  • @SuperSnake330CID

    i have 4.10's...

if the car is a manual you can prob make 260 +/- with a intake/exhaust tune... but the BBK and Flows def arent the best for power.

also, dont worry about an intake manifold, stock PI intake is an awesome piece.

and IMO, 373 isnt enough gear... you will want more once you have them.

  • @qtrhrse22 ic thanks for the info i just want my car to sound mean but yeah flows are cheap thats why ... thanks again

  • how is your stang a 6 speed? Aftermarket trany?

  • @TheZman77

    I bought a T56 from an 03 Cobra

  • @qtrhrse22 thats sick

  • SpeedGT.webs.com

  • Your Mustang sounds good man plus you really know how to shift..... from a Z owner :)

  • @grpanos13

    thanks dude

  • can i have your mustang, it sound like a fuckin beast

  • @apuente15

lol, thanks... the new exhaust sounds even better. ;)

  • Hey blownpony slowbras 11.90 in a stock cobra is slow . I hope your joking. Lol!

  • bulllllllllshhhhhhhhhhitt

  • @DillonWilliams8790

    BS to what?

  • 8cyl vs 6cyl?

  • @az009981

that 6cyl happens to be much more technologically advanced than my poor little 2V, it has a multivalve head and is a quad cam; it also happens to make 46 more hp than me, stock for stock... in a smaller car with better gearing.

Yea, his car was outclassed here, but he'd been asking for it for months... just a friendly race between co-workers.

  • BYE BYE JAPANESE TRASH!

  • @SL8R71

eh, they can be fun, just not my cup of tea... and he didnt know what he was getting into lol

  • bout to say haha no 04 gt's were 6speed, but t56 swap is win

  • @Blownpony01

its ok... its has its pros and cons. It is strong, even in stock form (which mine isnt, i sent it to ProMotion and they fully built it for me), i would say double overdrive is nice, but its 6th is the same as the 03/04 TR3650's 5th, so its kinda like a 5sp with a 4.5 gear lol. Which is nice sometimes when cruising in the 45mph area.

The worst thing about it is the loss of gear in first, makes the car feel soft on the hit. Even geared it feels like a stock gear car with a 5sp.

  • @qtrhrse22 well i can say i like the t56's in the 03/04 slobras for sure, not to mention the power they put out stock, the 6 speed was needed in that car

  • @Blownpony01

yea, but Terminators make enough low-end tq to pull through the tall first gear. I do like mine, dont get me wrong, on the spray in 1st gear i really like how tall it is, better for traction and i dont have to hit 2nd as quickly, so it gives me time to get my shit together before having to shift again after a hard launch.

  • @qtrhrse22 true, so like you said, it has its pros and cons

  • Stock to stock gt wins so everyone saying they would be in opposite places if stock to stock blow me I pulled 350z all day in my stock 2000 gt and now is force fed by a kb 2.1

  • @gowrestle160

eh, it would really depend on what year 350 is, the 03-04 is significantly weaker than the 07-08 and even a bit slower than the 05-06. A bone-stock New Edge would have trouble with 07-08 Z car... maybe not right out of the hole because of the steep 1st gear in the T45 and the 3650 but as speeds increase the Z would hold its own without a problem. A stock GT isnt very impressive up top.

  • @gowrestle160 If you pulled any Z in your stock 2000 GT, then the guy couldn't drive or it was an old auto car. A 2008 HR Z like this one will leave your car easy and creep away on the top end from an 05+ GT like this watch?v=v2E3KfwdARU. The Z has more hp, less weight, tighter gearing, and better aerodynamics. Why wouldn't it win? I have a modded '99 GT myself, but I'm not delusional about the speed of a newer stock 350.

  • @ambientflier It depends on what options your car came with from the factory bud(some options added weight), I've never run across a 350 that weighs less than my 04 GT(3098lbs on the title), factor in bolt ons being cheaper for a mustang than a 350 and you can close the HP gap easily, both cars were just as fast as each other 0-60 time an 08 350 ran about 3/10's of a second faster 1/4 stock for stock. When I bought my Car it came down to an 06 350z or my car, torque/weight/$ decided it for me.

  • every z that comes my way is scared to race my slow 2 valve gt :/ race me damn it so i can post a vid of a z losing to my stock auto gt.

  • @mrdragking13 believe me you wont win by much IF you win, but i would like to see a video if you do.

  • @gagt27 well the one's I have raced I beat them by about half a car. But idk what's up with my local z owners they are scared when there really is no reason to be scared of an 00 auto gt.

  • @mrdragking13 well thats not winning by much, no offence

  • @gagt27 no affence taken. Half a car ain't much but a win is a win, its better than losing ;)

  • @mrdragking13 go to a track, theres plenty there that will want to challenge you

  • 6 speed 04 Gt?? Waaa!?

  • @StyleEngineers

    its a T56 swap

  • @qtrhrse22

oh i see, i was like wtf?

    nice nice tho :)

  • you mean a twin intake car? there's no twin plenum. the HR 350z's have been as quick as 13.1@109 bone stock, but most seem to be around a 13.3-13.6 range at 103-106.

  • well if it isn't Mr. 4R70 himself, LOL !!! nice race my man.

  • @96t5wagon

    thanks lol

  • Nice race. Those HR 350Z's are strong, but you do have some major mods...

  • @ambientflier

yea, stock for stock twin plenum cars are probably faster depending on how good the driver is in each car. But it does seem like once the bolt-ons start the Mustang is stronger. There is a video floating around somewhere of me racing another friend in his twin plenum. It had test pipes, single exhaust, tune, shifter, full intake... i was only making 271rw at the time, no cams. Just had bolt-ons and gears.

    I was still a good 1.5-2 cars stronger from a 40 roll.

  • @qtrhrse22 Yeah, a stock HR can slowly walk a stock 05+ GT, starting at 100mph, they have strong top end, so they are definitely quicker than an 04 GT, but I'm surprised that you could walk one with only 271whp, because that's how much they make stock. I guess the win goes to your torque advantage...

  • @ambientflier

IDK, i used to have a 05 3V car, and it was strong, made 271rw/289rwtq bone stock. CAI, tune made 300/320. Fun car. Just a lot heavier than my 04. So with the weight of the 05+, a stock for stock race with an HR would be close im sure.

as far as beating an HR with only 271rw... my car now, how you see it in the vids, only makes about 305rw, and you see how bad it was. and i obviously had a passenger.

  • @ambientflier Exactly..MAJOR mods..stock for stock..it would be the other way around lol

  • @ZRacerofTEAMS7

maybe, stock for stock... but they are 46hp stronger and come with more gear too. Mustang bolts-on stronger though.

and cams arent exactly MAJOR mods, not that big a deal really. Couple hours of work and a tune. The car only makes ~300rwhp.

  • BTW, Nissan stop making the 350z in '08. Nice kill though.

  • @VictorReeuZ

sorry, def shoulda known better than that... i just remembered it was the last year they made it because he told me there were 370's next to it on the lot but they made him a good deal on the 350 to get rid of it.

They are real fun cars though, my mom drives an 04 Touring Roadster. Very fun to drive. She has the Stillen center exit exhaust and it sounds real good. The VQ engines sound awesome.

  • @qtrhrse22 Man, it all good. I got a 07 myself. Very fun!

  • So you beat a v6 with a shittier intake than stock (pop chargers) and an exhaust...with a v8 that has gears, cams, exhaust and other mods since u said bolt ons...WEAK
