The ground was seen rolling like the swells of an ocean. When the swell peaked great fizzers opened in the ground, some of them running from hundreds of feet. Thirteen hundred miles away in Boston, Massachusetts church bells rang out in response to the shaking and in Washington D.C. James Madison the sitting president of the United States was awakened from his sleep while the White House shook.
The Mississippi River rocked back and forth tossing boats onto shore which themselves had been crumbling into the river. It was nothing short of a living nightmare.
On February 7th, 1812 the strongest shock yet rocked the town of New Malvern so violently that it finally fell away into the river joining the faith of several other settlements. The river itself ran backwards and in Tennessee a great forest suddenly became a vast lake.
In the following two months the region would experience three more major earthquakes and almost two thousand after shocks.
On January 23rd, 1812 another shock estimated at 7.8 occurred as people stumbled into the night they saw flashes of light emulating from the ground. Many found themselves navigating through fallen trees, wadding through sand and water, or stumbling into crevasses that had been opened in the ground.
Rumblings of Imminence: The New Madrid Seismic Zone
The First Earthquake occurred around 2 am on December 16th, 1811 in Northeastern Arkansas estimates placed the magnitude of this earthquake at around 8.1 and it was followed within hours by another shock nearly as strong as the first. All through the night the region was shaken. When dawn brought light the townspeople found the air clouded by a reddish haze and the landscape changed forever.
@vasiliosrigos why dont all you dumbasses that dont get just keep their dumbass comments to themselves..the gov. has people like this guy who are paid to be a traitor.so which is it ?are you an informant or are you just a dumbass?
@alfred963 I can not tell you for obvious reasons , however today they decided in court that the army of engineers will detonate dynamite to blow up some of the levee's to ease the water from rising any further in the Mississippi river. This will have great impact in the state of Missouri supposedly in a very scarcely populated area.Three states were for the actions while Missouri took it to court and the Judge ruled to allow the levee's be blown up.

@xjlmt Well, Tecumseh lost anyway. Now his land is a parking lot, shopping mall, and amusement park. It's covered with litter, the water is less pure, and the people living on it don't seem to care very much about it.
I typed out the video but I had to send it piece by piece

Didn't Tecumseh predict this quake? It was supposed to be a great sign from above for the Native Peoples to rise up and kill the white devil.

What the religious nuts never realize is that they thought it was the end of the world when this took place as well.
