I've been a big fan of Fairuz for as long as I can remember and she doesn't give her religious songs for sampling to anyone. And I've also been a fan of Madonna's forever and she admitted to taking it, but she eventually came to a settlement with Fairuz. I have the album too but that isn't even relevant to this because Fairuz never gave her permission.

"Erotica" is an album that pushes boundaries, sets the bar high, and overall is a nice, sensual ride. Listening to "Erotica" soothes the brain, the nerves, sends the libido skyrocketing, and it's pure sensation. No sex album can top this one.

@ScienceProjek Rhianna's "S&M" is so tame and manufactured for the tween-20something crowd. The upbeat pop sound and lyrics like "Whips and chains excite me!!!" is so out of place and NOT SEXY. Madonna pushed the boundries hardcore with "Erotica" and this was back in 1992! Sure, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kei$ha, Rhianna, etc. try to be risque and sexual in nature, but Madonna set the stage and nobody does it better.

You know, the point is that Madonna was not doing this just to be risque. Madonna is weird. She likes the fringe, the abnormal, the edge. She sincerely enjoys challenging traditional values & blurring the line between right & wrong, normal and abnormal, acceptable and repulsive. Which makes Erotica a sonically innovative record of genuine outrage with a socio-political agenda. It qualifies the album as a work of art, but the effect that music like this has on society is not really a good thing.
