Quite a band -- good sound, frontman really has it, what ever happened to these guys? They didn't take a back to anyone in their day, should have been bigger.
Friend of mine calls this song "Bubblegum"---but he can't explain why he thinks this is true. Damn, it really pissed me off. Comparing the most perfect power pop song ever written to BUBBLEGUM music. Jeez!!!
Imagine if Eric Carmen was born 20-30 years later? Imagine the sound of Rock today. He was so far ahead of his time, Yet he was a major influence to what we hear today. Lot's of bands like that in the 70's. Wouldn't change a thing
This was recorded 11/7/73 at the Palace Theater, NYC; 5 songs were later televised on Don Kirshner Rock Concert. This was their live peak with the original 4 Raspberries; then they appeared again on DKRC again the next year with their final line up. Amazing write up and ability to listen to the whole concert at Wolfgangs vault dot com...Enjoy ..very tasty stuff.
I read somewhere online where each member of the band was interviewed back in 1972 or so--asked Eric what were his hobbies, he said "girls, tennis, swimming, and football" then his height and weight listed as: 5 ft 9 inches and 124 pounds...just a little thing to be playing football!
MY OH MY .have not seen this cilp before, not much to add ,BUT ,are these guys great live or what, come on back eric ,their still TIME ,ONE OF THE MOST UNDERATED BANDS OF ALL TIME..
I think Van Halen looked up to these guys.

Talented musicians, great singers and solid songwriters: the Raspberries are the most underappreciated band in the history of rock and roll.

It would have made a great birthday present for a certain 14-year-old if I had put down a book for a while! This guy still has the voice, too!
