  • Nice movie, but Laputa is the best!

    Ghibli 4ever!!!

  • I'm pretty sure Disney is why we get versions in English by giving the movie English voice actors and makes it so we can see these movies in theaters

Just don't post what you know will upset others?

  • @Sanimangas

OI!!! Don't you dare go dissen God like that! It's rude and disrespectful. If you want to act like that on your on time, feel free. But some of us here get really insulted when you toss slander onto Him. So don't act like that where other people can here you. I love God, and by believing in Him, I am capable of believing in myself. I am who I am because of God, and people who act like you did, need to go to Church more. With out God none of us would exist INCLUDING YOU! So please,

  • Shapeshifters sample @ 1:05

  • My father got this as a gitf from some friends when he went to japan along with the film of macross, I grew up watching nausicaa even though I didn't understand one bit of it, I don't know there is something trully magical in all Ghibli movies, of course I've seen it with subs and I continue to love this anime.

  • Watching this movie was such a deeply spiritual experience for me. Oddly enough, I found those creatures, the insects, more pleasing than the countenance of the humans in the movie.

  • anyone else seeing this on a cartoon network marathon?

  • I think the movie is bit sad

  • It is a JAPANESE animation.

  • only watced this cause of MIYAZAKI love all of his films but i only watch the dubbed versions

  • This movie reminds me a lot to Arzach

  • La la la la la la la La la la la la laa!

  • who made this stereo effects? Music left, sound right... later everything right only... with headphones not perfect :D

  • This anime reminds me Avatar mixed with Chronicles of Riddick

  • @saitar1337

This is one of Avatar's influences since James Cameron is a fan of Ghibli

  • FUCK YOU DISNEY, YOU STEAL EVERYTHING FROM MIYAZAKI AND TEZUKA AND GIVE NOTHING BACK

    YOU DON'T EVEN ADMIT IT

YOU ARE A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT CAPITALIST COOPERATION

  • @Sanimangas Don't forget that walt disney was an anti semitic

  • @Sanimangas *Sigh* Really? Hayao made an agreement with Disney and all we do is blame Disney. I guess that means we should irrationally blame Hayao too.

  • @AliaSparrow

Wtf why shouldn't we blame disney? It's one of the fucking reasons the world is so corrupt and america is so stupid.

What are you a disneylover for life? You're never going to grow up or what?

  • @Sanimangas Of course! The underpaid and degeneratiing school system in America is not at fault for the decline in education. Government corruption and oportunistic bankers are not to blame for anything at all. It was all those cartoons i watched as a child. Those several hours of watching donald duck and mickey mouse are the cause of all my problems and the worlds issues. Thank you AliaSarrow i had no idea life was so incredibly simple.

  • @erd607

Hey man, it's not that. You missed the point. But I think you are AliaSarrow. Oh well whoever you are, all those corporations that are rich enough monopolize those advertisements you see, stick to all those millions kids. Nowadays you see trendy hipster shit who buy 100 dollar clothes. And they all wanna go to disneyland too. I see disney ads everyday.

If you are arguing at me cause you are protecting disney you proved my point and need to grow up. (IF)

  • @Sanimangas @Sanimangas Ummm, Hayao Miyazaki made an agreement with Disney. So I guess you are blaming Hayao Miyazaki too. Can Hayao just make an agreement without irrational fans blaming Disney? Especially when Hayao is pretty much friends with Disney.

  • @AliaSparrow

Do you know how infuriated Miyazaki was when disney bombards his house everyday? I was watching an interview with that disney ceo and Miyazaki in my art class 5 years ago. He was trying to get Miyazaki to agree but he looked like he was trying to get away. I thought it was a great idea and didn't know why he didn't want to, but I didn't understand shit when I was a kid. My teacher felt sad for Miyazaki and wished his work would never be taken. Now I understand.

  • @Sanimangas I dont recall that Japan was ever a communist nation and its spelled corporation not "cooperation". You stated that Disney is a cooperative company.

  • @Sanimangas Soooo, um, yeah, Hayao's dub trailers of the dub versions ADMIT Disney PRESENTS these movies made by STUDIO GHIBLI. Just watch them, it is said explicitly. Is just that a man from Disney was a huge fan and best friend of Hayao and he thought America should see Hayao's works and make it accesible.

  • @Sanimangas disney is undissable! they were to fuckin awesome for beeing touchebl!

  • @Sanimangas

    Someone needs a chill pill.

  • @1tephania

Someone needs to grow up and stop believing in stuff like capitalism and god. And believe in themselves.

  • @Sanimangas

Do you even realize how cringe-inducing that little remark was?

Anyhow, your Youtube profile says you are 16. You are going to realize what an idiot you were in less than two years' time.

  • @1tephania

Are you a disney lover or what?

  • @Sanimangas

Okay kiddo, if your version of 'cool' is having outgrown Disney (which magically translates into a rejection of capitalism and theism), then you must be half my age or less, not even 16. I don't want to fight with a little kid so... cheers, and grow well. Do exercise and tell your mommy to get you some braces so that you'd look great when you get older.

  • @1tephania

    Sigh.

You don't even try to understand other people's point of view.

  • ジブリ作品《火垂の墓(Grave of the Fireflies)》も観て下さいね。

  • why is it in korean? wtf

  • @startingsprinter just read the description. thx!

  • @startingsprinter lol so weird because S. Korea had banned all of japanese culture until 2002, and over 70% of koreans hate japan. but there is a trailer.XD

  • this movie was soo ahead of its time

  • miyazaki estupendo...:)

  • Agreed! Great trailer!!!

  • @lyue1996

Disney "appears" to be influencing anime because it releases a large amount of dubs in the US / European markets.

Actually, it's the other way around, with Studio Ghibli entering in contracts with Disney, with clauses preventing a repeat of Wairrors of the Wind's complete and utter trainwreck. Disney also handles large amounts of Naruto dubbing and distribution, but waters down the series considerably.

  • I love the planes in this movie.

  • why korean?

  • Comment removed

  • all that matters is whether or not you like the cartoons.

  • Osamu Tezuka (手塚 治虫, born 手塚 治 Tezuka Osamu?, November 3, 1928 – February 9, 1989) was a Japanese cartoonist, manga artist, animator, producer, activist and medical doctor, although he never practiced medicine. Born in Osaka Prefecture, he is best known as the creator of Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion and Black Jack. He is often credited as the "Godfather of Anime", and is often considered the Japanese equivalent to Walt Disney, who served as a major inspiration during his formative years.

  • !!!!! BEST !!!!!!

  • BRILLIANT MOVIE!

  • ive been looking for this film for 15 years!! FFS now i find it yes yes yes

  • this...is......FREAKING EPIC!!!!!! no matter what, disney will never be this epic....GHIBLI FOR EVEAH!!!!!

  • ハングルかよwwww

  • this was made in 1984. (27 years ago)

but this movie is still loved.

  • So....beautiful...and moving....and....touching....and plain EPIC!

  • this trailer shows a little too much about the movie

  • Esta peli me conmovió Mucho.

  • I watched almost all of Miyazaki's films from a very early age; as soon as they were available. But it just doesn't matter what movie I watch now nor when I watch these very movies. They just are never as good as they were when I was a kid. I keep trying to find that type of movie again, but I realize that I won't get to. But now I'm left with memories, ones that I simply can't explain. I know I'm not making much sense, but I hope someone understands what I am saying lol.

  • @TheAnimeStop Totally understand dude, its nostalgia. Best feeling in the world, its why I watch old movies and play old games from my childhood. You know the really weird scratchiness in the audio in the background like there was in video tapes back in the day? I love that sound for some odd reason, reminds me of being care-free eating sweets and getting in trouble for not brushing my teeth or whatever then sitting in bed watching movies on my VCR, rewinding it and watching the movie again xD

  • @ChoclatexLesbians Haha same man! Idk why but I love the grainy look to movies and even these old anime movies. 90's memories just don't go away lol Just decided to watch this movie again and I got that happy depressed nostalgia feeling again ha

  • this is the second best movie ever! best is princess mononoke

  • This is the Korean trailer.

  • ハングルきもす

  • Whatchin It NOW

  • This movie is like a mix of Castle in the Sky and Princess Mononoke. It would have been perfect if only the music wasn't so funky at times, haha. But still pretty amazing :)

  • Absolutely loved this movie :D

  • Anime that make me cry

  • Too focus on violent scenes.... It is close to American trailer in this sense.... the best trailer is French version, in my opinion.

  • I think the music changed a bit too suddenly but otherwise this is a really good trailer :)

  • @missmuggledetector Wait... how the fuck did you get that? Everyone in Germany is secretly a Nazi.. so I guess everyone from a Muslim country is a terrorist? Everyone from Australia is like Steve Irwin? Grow up.

  • Dear missmuggledetector, first off you have No right to be calling me names i was voicing my oppinion and i am not a weebo thank you very much. I know that the original mangas were based off of walt's work back in the early days i know this because i research manga history because unlike most people i value the art and th culture th mangakas and animators put into their art. I am not trying to be rude but i felt that that needed to be said.

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki manga anime are better than walts work lol manga was influenced by Walt Disney how is it a lot better? manga is mainly based on legends and culture of japan because they have one.and they are so creative the japanese.i wish i can live there.Really geniuses good people.

  • One thing I love about Hayao Miyazaki is that he can make so many movies about crazy things that nobody thinks or hears of, yet absolutely none of them reflect upon others.

  • Comment removed

  • what's the name of the song by 1:06 minutes

  • @111nici111 it's a part of "Interchange With the Ohmu" and "Nausicäa Requiem". You can listen the full soundtrack on my channel ; )

  • Never says something is the best or you will be guaranteed to have people disagree with you.

  • goddamnit why doesnt studio ghibli make stuff like this anymore? imean we got ponyo... but that was like the first one in ten years

  • 韓国のトレーラーっでごめんねって書いてあるやん

  • Mein erster Anime den ich als Kind gesehen habe, und der mich echt beeindruckt hat.. :) sehr anspruchsvoll ! i like it!!!

  • ハングルの文字スーパーめっちゃ雰囲気あってるよ

  • Siempre el maestro Miyazaki nos presenta trabajos tan impactantes, uno tras de otro, creo que todos sus films son mis preferidos, y de mis chavales.

  • This film was years ahead of it's time.

  • how long is the original uncut version of this film??

  • @TheMonkeydluffy455

    124 min

  • Its amazing how miyazaki really captures an image of earths edge of the end. I think if everyone saw this movie, it would lead to less pollution and world peace.

  • Giant Warrior is Prototype of Evangelion

  • I heard this film got heavily edited when it was shown in the US and caused Miyazaki to run out in tears. Is this true?

  • @boru25

When is was origanlly dubbed in english it was very heavily edited, they cut out over 30 minuites of it. Since than Studio Ghibli has an no edites rule. And all dubs have to be approved by Miyazaki. I don't know about Miyazaki running out in tears, probably just a rumer.

  • @thehoffmanapprentice it's spelled RUMOR

  • @thehoffmanapprentice "no edits" rule should be applied on everything. its a shame destroying the completeness of a movie as awesome as this one.

  • it's movie trailers like this that make me wish i spoke Korean and Japanese instead of English ^.^

  • we used to have this on Beta, lol

  • unbelievable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this was such a great movie, have ordered the movie in blueray.

Loved the animation and the story.

    Really wonderful :D

  • The trailer was weak.

  • Lol, the language is Korean as well, ptpt88.

  • Kalasookeetayy!

  • No Disney you will NEVER be this AMAZING!!

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki Ok dnt get me wrong anime is Amazing in its own way as well as Disney. Now maybe artistically anime takes the cake but as far as story wise and just good plots Studio Ghibli and other anime companies have some competition when it comes to Disney. Disney is nothing to play around with. lol

  • @JaSam4EvaLove Well that's just my oppinion. I grew up with Disney and I thought it was amazing! Untill i was introduced to Studio Ghibli Awesomeness! I still enjoy classic Disney movies but the best movies but these movies, these movies are more then movies. They are works of art. Disney takes most of their stories from fairytails, but Studio Ghibli movies are original .Disney is great but all in all , their originality in story telling does not compair to Studio Ghibli's works.

  • And yes, I know my spelling is horrible, but you get the idea.

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki Oh dnt get me wrong I understand wut ur saying, my things is Disney has come a long way and have the history and the awards that prove how great they really are. Studia Ghibli is awesome but most of their success comes from Hayao Miyazaki. So really u think Miyazaki is the best ?? Not tryna argue just thinkin out loud lol

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki

What do you think of Pixar?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Well i can say that they definatly are better then disneys lame princess stories! i don't have a problem with disney in general its mostly jus there weak female characters like cinderella and the others. I am a big Mulan fan though only because she saves the day ratherr then her 'prince" in Hayao-sensei's films mostly all of the lead females are strong and well not stupid enough to prick therir finger on a spindle.

  • Comment removed

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki I believe to have heard that Ghibli studio said yes to cooperate with Disney?

  • @missmuggledetector you would think that. Disney is Hollywood.

dont get me wrong i love Disney movie's too but Hayao Miyazaki is master of anime movie's and Disney are enviousness of there creativity and detail to anime move's like this.

  • @missmuggledetector How was anime influenced by Disney?

Anime is animated in another style, the drawings and art are different. Or maybe Disney nowadays are influenced by anime. (The Lion King had so many similarities with another japanese anime, with similar characters and names. the Anime name was Kimba the white lion).

You said Disney was good, and japanese anime is now better. And the you suddenly call us stupid. WTF? Your IQ: 70??

  • @missmuggledetector you are actually right... it is true that the eyes influenced western manga... at least i heard that

  • @missmuggledetector Ever read the mangas by Mr Miasaki?

  • @lyue1996

I think it's safe to say almost all animation has been influenced by Walt Disney in one way or another.

I know for a fact that Miyazaki was inspired by DIsney films.

  • @lyue1996 It was mostly Donald duck from my understanding, its really old anime and animation but if you look back they are much smore similiar

compare astro boy (original) with some of that retro disney stuff

its fascinating to see how different traits evolved in the different cultures

  • @lyue1996 Osamu Tezuka, Godfather of anime and manga, and maker of Astro Boy, was influenced by Walt Disney. He admitted this himself. So yes, early anime is influenced by Disney. Anime has it's own stylistic language today, and it has certainly influenced Western animation since, but don't deny anime's roots. As to what is better, that's anybody's opinion. Why can't we appreciate both worlds? I do, without a problem. I have me some Pixar and Miyazaki anyday.

  • @Caqui

At least Tezuka admitted it :)

But don't forget, when Tezuka died, disney came out and stole Kimba. Didn't admit a thing. Heck they even said it was based off Hamlet and the Bible. HECK they even put up a lawsuit so they can't get sued. HECK they even bribed Tezuka Co, to not sue saying they don't have any lawyers(BIGGEST FUCKING LIE)

FUCK They even shut down a Toronto Film Festival to keep Kimba from appearing.

  • @lyue1996 no dude thats an insult to forest gump, this guys IQ is way lower!

  • @lyue1996 Dude, Kimba was the shit.

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki miyazaki is a genius, nothing short of that

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki

Funny that Disney dubs and releases all the Studio Ghibli films in the US.

  • @Gipshaw I think she was referring to those disney princess movies...

  • @RadioNeko

    Maybe she was. Oh well.

I find it strange how everyone is acting like this movie is so great when I've always thought it was Miyazaki's worst film. >_> Of all the movies he's directed, this and Castle In the Sky are the only 2 I think can't even compare to the vast majority of Disney movies.

  • @Gipshaw Because damsels in distress are much more fun to watch then girls who can actually take care of themselves. Disney has good movies, but I still don't think any of them can beat any of Miyazaki's movies, matter of opinions I suspose.

  • @RadioNeko

I suppose it is. I do agree that some of Miyazaki's films beat a lot of Dinsey ones, but I still have to say the Lion King is still my all time favorite traditionally animated film. It probably partially nostalgia as well, because the only Ghibli film I saw in my childhood was Kiki's Delivery Service.

  • @Gipshaw Strangely I loved everything by Miyazaki except for Kiki's delivery service, just didnt really stand out to me for some reason.

  • @ChoclatexLesbians

Ha! To each his own. xD

  • @Gipshaw

Worst? Well, maybe watered down some, but not bad.

Miyazaki had to water it down from about 2 or 3 volumes of manga in a series which he continued working during the late '80s. Had he not tied up all the loose ends, kept the Dorok empire in the storyline, and made a sequel once he resolved the series, then maybe it could compare, so to speak.

I'd strongly recommend getting copies of the manga. Puts some of these modern mangas (e.g. Naruto) to shame...

  • @Gipshaw Actually, Castle in the Sky and this one are my two favorite Miyazaki films. I think they are both very sophisticated. I like the two film makers, Disney and Miyazaki, equally, but this movie was ahead of its time and really significant.

  • @AmaterasuUzumaki Disney actually produces this... just sayin'!

  • @LeBeanShow uh no it doesn't? its Ghibli

  • What is the music at 0:44 called?

  • ps love the little gurl sign

  • This is my most favorite movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved the music in this film Especially Nausicaas Requiem, thats probably the best one in the film.

  • Best trailer ever? questionable

  • at 0.34 all hell breaks loose!

  • All I didn't like about the movie was the main-character Nausicaa.. :p .. She was just soooooo boring a personality

  • @Rosalila I agree. She is so perfect its irritating, everything she does works out and she is alway praised. Its kinda opposite for most Miyazaki films, but the rest of the movie is amazing other than her.

  • @TheGojira84 Everything always works out? I think it's because her heart was made to be that one person who doesn't want war who doesn't want killing. Nausicaa shows how one person's feelings and beliefs can change a world. She's not perfect, she's a great role model for girls. I rather her be how she is here than being a spoiled rotten princess who doesn't do anything and lets her village do the work. Even though she lost her father, she still kept staying strong to protect her people.

  • i want the soundtrack at 1:07..whats the name?

  • @xxXRISTARASxx Nausicaa Requiem :3

  • Great story, but my god was the English dub awful (with the exception of Patrick Stewart, of course). Nausicaa was supposed to be this brave defender of nature and she sounds like such a shrill whining hippie that I kinda wanted the forest to burn just to piss her off.

  • @NYanarchy08 The English dub was great. Far greater than the newer Dub casts that Disney provides. There's no point in giving Matt Daeman a two line role.

  • This wasn't the first movie Miyazaki directed, his first was The Castle of Cagliostro.

  • Great movie.

  • best??

    this is fuckin'goock made

    just a fake

  • @cmedymx

Definitely and they borrowed ideas from it

  • cool explosion in the beginning, stinks it had to melt...

  • Did anyone ever see this in the 80's under the 1985 Warriors of the Wind cut? i did and left an impression on me as it became my favorite animated movie when i was a child. But i i still enjoy Warriors of the Wind mainly for campy and comical value that i dubbed on DVD-R for laughs but the new dub is fresh and uncut yet amazing.

  • STUPID AMV..

    dude that was funny :D

  • Could be better. Trailer is about warfare. Movie is about harmony and love.

  • I love Hayao Miyazaki!!!!

    <
