That lady on the video in with a baby should be put in jail. She is really putting her child in danger. stick could fly by and kill that child. I have seen sticks fly there myself.
A good SCA flat snap will take anyone down in a heart beat. But as you know we get hit with stick constantly and unless you knock someone stupid you may end up grappleing so I would hope that you have some training outside of SCA combat before you would attempt something like that... And expect to win anyway. :)

Okay guys, here's the deal. There's nothing wrong with stick fighting for social recognition if that's what you're about. If you're about violence, though, take off the friggin' pads. And quit grappling while you're at it. Everybody knows the ground is where you go when you can't defend yourself and don't want to get hit anymore.
