Too be honest Shishio's face should have been blown off. They make Sanosuke a little too weak. Futae No Kiwami was able to destroy two of Inui's upgraded Tekkos and his two arms but it was a truer one and at a higher level but this one shouldn't be any much different. A face is more fragile than Tekkos.

It's Anji's technique of the Juppongata that he taught to Sanosuke. It is where the attacker strikes first with his forefingers, disrupting the object he/she is attacking, then in a .7 of a second turns his hand into a fist and shatters the opponent. Lol I dunno if my explanation made any sense, but that is basically what it is in a nutshell.
