Fakey has tried to defend Brett for as long as I can remember back in youtube history. I don't know why, he has some motive hes not being clear on. Maybe it's because other people he doesn't like own him better than he could. Fakey is glossing over a lot of what Brett's done.

Brett was back in the day kind of one of the center figures of the 'atheism community' on youtube, and was well respected. It was his lying that got him in trouble, and Fakesagan was one of the first who really did prove he was lying. After that Brett was chased with sticks out of youtube, had malicoius trolls.. (many of the same that switched to fakesagan later). Fakesagan has said he felt somewhat guilty of the development, plus he obvously doesn't like mobmentality.

I disagree that Brett is a legitmate target. Nothing of what Brett really did was that serious(and most of them was yeeears ago, and he paid his dues.). His problem always has just been that he won't admit lying, even when he's caught redhanded. That makes people angry understandably, but the things he lies about isn't THAT serious still. He claimed for 10 minutes that a poem he didn't write was his. So what? He had some contradicting stories about his mother.. so what?

And what I find very cynical of Straightd0pe is the way he implies that Brettkeane lies about needing money. I saw a lot of the videos. He seemed deeply ashamed, and his wife had to step in and do it for him. thats his only way of getting any income as he can't get a job, and youtube won't give him partnership. Okay, so what if he wanted to give his son a PS3 even if the economy is tight?

And I don't think straightd0pe's definition of e-begging makes sense either.

Except Brett scams people out of their money, a little bit like TJ and Cody once did and never apologized for it. They went on asking for money for a specific projects which never came to life. That's at least a little bit dishonest. And don't get me wrong: I like TJ and Cody, they provide a quality content and I'm willing to forget what they did, but the points raised against them are valid. Just like many points raised against Brett are valid and many points raised against Fakey are valid.
