i have a 5th gen 80 Gb ipod. ROck box wont show on the menu when you get to select if you want ipod linux and apple os and when i try booting ipod linux it says err. I had to use the 5.5 download because the 5 gen download said it couldnt find my ipod. I don't wanna have to restore it... again. please help.

To make this clear for everyone, THIS IS ONLY FOR IPOD VIDEOS 5.5th Generation. To know if your ipod video is a 5th generation or a 5.5th generation do the following: On the back of your Ipod is a serial number, if the last three digits of your serial number are V9K, V9P, V9M, V9R, V9L, V9N, V9Q, V9S, WU9, WUA, WUB, WUC, and X3N this means your Ipod Video is a 5.5th generation, otherwise it is a 5th generation. Zeroslackr does work 100% with my 30gig 5.5 gen ipod video. and I do have a gba, so I can legally own gba bios. I also have an nes, so I can run roms as well. Master blaster is my FAVORITE game ever. To bad I can never beat it on my ipod. It's cuz I need cheats on the nes to beat it, and no cheats for the ipod... :(

DO NOT USE THIS VIDEO PEOPLE!!!! This installer will do minimal things, and if you want extras, like Gameboy advance emulators, this will not work. Instead, try zeroslakr. I will post a video about it soon. I just installed with that and it was WONDERFUL! It installs a bunch of emulators, and for the gba emulator, all you need is the bios. That is illegal to distribute, so it could not be. More will come in a video, but this installed in less than a MINUTE! And it doesn't delete your songs.

you need to install a music player. Just go to the ipod linux wiki site for all the extra stuff. This might not work for some people. I ran it on my old comp, and it worked. My new comp calls it a trojan, and I KNOW its not a trojan. It just might not work for some.

hmm, I didn't use this installer, I did it manually. I just tried this way, and it seems that this linux is worthless. theres no point to it unless you want the bootloader. Thats cuz you can't install anything. I even used a live cd of linux to try and get the files into the linux partition. I followed all the steps for iDarcNES and it doesn't work. Neither does MAME. You all might want to try Zeroslakr, it does everything like this and installs a bunch of programs.

if it is not working on your 5g ipod video make sure that when you go to that site you are downloading 5.5 and not five, then it should work, same thing I did.
