Sick articulation at 0:25-0:55. What kind of suspension are you running? I have an 06 Tundra crew cab limited with a 3" lift, leveled and 285/80/16's.
@mrwilliwizard On road its ok. Not my favorite since it will lock up and chrip your tires. Your right, you have to go easy on the gas going around corners or else its locked and your dragging the inside tire. Tire wear sucks, one reason why I got rid of the powertrax and went with an ARB air locker. I went throught a set of tires in about a year, so with the price of the powertrax and new tires, I could have bought two ARB's. Learn from me, and get an ARB if you want a locker, the best!
Betcha had to get yanked out at 4:08 thought you might have learned from the close one to the ditch at 3:10... NOPE! HAHA Nice truck, how do you like the powertrax? I have the same truck same color red with a 3" toytec lift and 255 85 16 cooper st's. I also put on JBA headers, Y pipe, and flowmaster 50 series. Now its time for a locker...
@treeguylee I liked the powertrax offroad alot, but on the street you had to change your driving habits so you would not kill your tires. No flooring it off the line and what not. Now I have the ARB air locker in the rear and I would never turn back. SI should have done this in the first place. Sounds like our trucks are pretty similar, I too have JBA headers, Volant CAI, but lack the Y-pipe, well at least for now, Later...
ok thats good im not really goin to be offroading just looks thats wat i am after but thats good no wear i havent had it on there long......camburg stuff is nice but pricey
@240rocket When I had the spacers no, tire wear was fine with good aliment. I now have Bilstien 5100's up front at 2 inches, and Camburg UCA's, so the ride is much better now. I would suggest staying away from spacer lifts if you do any offroading if its a cruzier then you'll be fine with a spacer IMO.
Toyota has built five assembly plants in the USA, and they are situated in the states of Alabama, Texas, West Virginia, Kentucky, and the most recent one being in Indiana.
US Treasury owns 60% of shares of GM which came from the bailout. Bailouts are coming out of American's pockets via taxes
or.....
In this perspective, according to Ron Paul, a member of the house banking committee, we owe China about 2 & 1/2 trillion American dollars.
I have 2 Dakotas, 1 with Michelin At/2 and the other with Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's. The Michelins are by far better in everything except mudd. The BAJA's are awesome in mudd but they suck fierce in everything else.
Hi, what kind and size are those wheels and tires. I have a truck just like yours i do dont know what kind of tires to by for it. What you think i should buy?
Tires are 285/75/18 (33") GT Radial MT's. Wheels are Procomp 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing. Depends on what kind of driving you do, I personally like the security of having MT's, just like 4wd you may not use it much but when you do its a life saver. I would go with a BFG, Firestone, or Toyo MT, they last for a MT but they are expensive. You get what you pay for. If you lift your Tundra lift it right with coilovers, avoid spacers trust me.
im love the size of the tundra(im 6'4") but the tacoma can perform better offroad. im worried bout the size and weight of the tundra being to big for offroad, then again it is a toyota and is more practical then a xtra cab tacoma/truck.
i thought you could lock the rear end on the tundra trd like you can in the tacoma with the e locker? every time you get stuck its only one wheel spinning in the back?
Yeah, not in the Tundra's. 2002 and up only came with limited slip and below that was a open end. I now have a powertrax no-slip locker in the rear check out my other vids for that in action.
I'm not sure what song it is, Youtube took my orginal song and I picked this one, but its been a while and I can't seem to find it! Sorry, thanks for the comments!
I like the video, I've been thinking about getting a newer truck and I like the looks of the tundra. I've heard they have problems with brakes and front end noise. What can you tell me about problems with the Tundra. Give me a list of pros and cons when you get a chance. Thanks.
All the brake problems should have been recalled and fixed by Toyota so your good there. I have not heard any front end noise from mine, its probly a driver error thing. The pros are that is is fast for a little engine and a smooth ride. Only thing i would change is buying a 2005 for the extra 40HP and the 5 speed transmission, but other than that its hard to pick out any problem so far. Tundra's are nice trucks and so are the other big three they all have there +-. Good luck with your choic
Thanks, I test drove a 2000 like yours the other day and loved the power. It had little tires on it though and is hard to say how it will feel with 33's or 35's on it. My dodge runs pretty strong with 35's on it but like I said one of these days I would like to get something newer when I pass my dodge down to my son or daughter. Thanks for the advice it is very much appreciated. Keep making awesome videos of your tundra in action, maybe some of it in deep snow. Take care.
the only engine noise ive heard is the drive belt and it squeeks every once in a while but your supposed to get it replaced at 90,000 miles and im currently at 84k so no biggie it hardly ever squeeks either
No not at all. With the no-slip, where you go dpends on how much gas you give it. I just got back from the snow and i had no problems in the corners, and goes anywhere you point it. Also it makes for some good drifts and donuts!! Had it for a year now and through every terrian imaginable and have had no problems.
how does it work on dry pavement, do you get any driveline bind, or slop? My truck is a 5 speed, so slop is a big issue for me. I've heard some lockers can cause excessive slop.
Being an automatic theres not to much slop, but for a 5 speed i would think it would have more. If i ease into the gas you can not even feel it engage and when i stomp on it from a deaad stop it has a little slop but no slamming. Doing U-turns is no problem if you a easy on the gas. Most of the time i do not even know its back there. For the most pat it will change your driving habits, but it pays off when on the trails.
I witnessed a Toyota like this one go over a cliff, rolled down the mountain and didnt even have a scratch on it when it got to the bottom. those truck are BADASS.
I have a 3inch spacer in the front with an AAL in the back. It's got 285/75/16 MT's on it, only a little rub a full lock and fully compressed. I have Bilstein 5100's coming and going to install those to replace the spacer, they should still clear 285's. Also im going to get new tires, Xtreme Allterrians. Any where from 2.5" to 3" lift will clear 285's/33's.
Yessszzz... the wooden head thinks this is great... You just wait and see, just a few weeks and I can submit some vids of mine as well.. Great vid, my friend..!!

Both trucks had just an add-a-leaf in the rear. Now the Tundra has a progresive 3 leaf mini pack. Much better flex. Nice ride!
