  • thank u gavin for the video lessons well explained and simplyfide 5stars cheers m8

  • Great Vid :) I reckon this would have been easier (and quicker) if you put a mask on the Stone Henge Layer rather than cut it, but its whatever works best for you :D

  • SkyReplacement is hard is it?

  • Great tutorial, thank you.

  • mr gavin how comeyou just show easy job for tutorial,

if you can fix replace sky with some of the three, would be great

    thanks for your video

  • Amazing!!!! I really enjoy your great and clear tutos!

  • Hey Gavin .... Great Tutorial! I have one question. How do you flick between origiinal image and completed image like you did at 8:27 ?

    Thank you

  • excellent as allways Gav.

  • give some highlights to the ground too.. its still looking un natural.. i really like your videos and always wait in my subscription for ur videos.. but thts just a suggestion.. hope u dont mind that!

  • What would you usggest for trying to get a sky behind a bunch of trees? I wanted to replace this horrid overcast white sky I had, but the trees and and their many fiddly branches were in the way. I tried to do it, but there just so many white bits. I was there forever zooming in and clicking to add in the every single spot of white sky between the branches and the leaves to the selection. Surely there's another way? Great tuitorial notheless though. :)

  • I would do this first:

Removing fringe pixels from a selection (Photoshop) ... Choose Layer > Matting > Remove Black Matte or Layer > Matting > Remove White Matte.

  • at last someone who can explain photoshop in a way i understand :) thanks

  • omfg ! this has helped me sooooooo much thanks ever so much man ! appreciate it :)

  • Hi

I never comment on anything, so i hope this tells you something. been working on a certain picture for 3 months, tried everything just couldn't get it right. your tutorial helped me out a great deal, got it to where it's acceptable.

    cheers

  • this is kewl but i have a picture with 2 layers and i want 2 make it have the one back groaund how do i doo it

  • Most of us know that you are one of the best tutors for photoshop. I first saw your tutorial in Gold proshow. You REALLY MAKE everthing easy in photoshop. Not to mention the way you speak and explain is SO CLEAR. keep giving us your brilliant tuturials.

  • you are master of photoshop ;)

  • well said

  • Gavin your a Jedi of photoshop!!

  • @hellsfortune Gavin is a Jedi Master but who is the Apprentice.

  • You make things seem so simple and quick. for months I wasn't able to grasp the feathering thing totally, and this tutorial was so helpful. Love the way you explain. Thanks so much, from India...

  • One question boss!

When i paste the sky into my original image it dosent cover the full image its quite small.

    What might be the problem?

    Thnx.

  • Your new sky is a smaller image (less pixels) then your original. Either choose a bigger new sky or try Free Transform to enlarge it.

  • thanks man for your tutorials. i learn a lot from you.you explain very good

    cheers

  • this is a help...thanks Gavin!

  • great vid man, thank you very much :)

  • It's a good tutorial, but I got sick and tired of hearing him say "lumps and bumps" I was about to shoot myself if it didn't stop lol

  • Hi Gav,

I just stumbled onto your videoas as I was trying to change the sky of a shot I took in Tuscany. Thank you so much.

    So easy to follow,

    On to your site next.

  • hi gavin. do you have a photoshop introductory tutorial for beginners? if none, could you make one please. great vids by the way

  • Have a look on my website. Photoshop Essentials DVD covers Cropping, Levels, Selections and Layers. Perfect for beginners.

  • thank you man!im a noob on cs4!but I really learned on this vid!tnx!

  • but gavin, i got a picture within a tree, how i'm gonna do that, i cant use Magic Want Tool cuz it doesn't take all the sky in it.

BTW, Great tutorials and simple to understand

  • Selecting trees is tricky. All those tiny gaps between the leaves make the magic wand almost impossible to use. Select trees the same way as you would hair. Look for tutorials on creating an Alpha Channel.

  • @blackcobra1994 I have the same problem.

  • where do you get you sky picture from?

  • Watch my video

"Beams of sunlight from scratch - Week 39" to see how it was done

  • thank Gavin

these tut's have helped me more then you'll ever know.

  • I'm happy to have helped.

  • Great job! Your tutorials always inspire me.

  • I aim to please :-)
