  • Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Lend me your Ears

for i came to bury Caesar, not to praise him

  • Poor USA...200 years old country. I'm wondering what do Americans feel when they flex their balls then watch this movie ?

  • whats the name of the music?

  • @chDavid1 Trailer theme of Troy :)

  • "empire united and free" )))))))))))))))))))

oh americans.... they put their not much clever propaganda even into the Caesar life.

Rome in Caesar times was not Empire till and Rome could not be afraid for their freedom, since Rome took away the freedom of all others.

  • @softer26 im pretty sure rome was an empire i could be wrong but the Marian reform made them a full military nation and by the time caesar was in the senate they already had greece spain and north africa under their control

  • julius caesar actually governed the Roman Republic. After his assassination, Rome became an Empire under Emperor Octavian.

  • Gaius Julius Caesar! Then, the second triumviratum: lepidus, Antony, Octavian. Then, the empire. Augustus, Tiberius, Nero, Caligula, Cornelius etc. Then, Constantine whose name I posess, lucinius,

  • @TheYu87 ** Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero**

  • @lisduggan64 Power play always requires certain amount of egoism , despite all his actions who could deny his legendary status ? Who could unite rome , like he could and bring peace and developments to Rome like the Caesars do?

  • @coolasacoldsummer are you on drugs? Caesar is the root of all your white supremacy horseshit - he and his kind have inspired racists, nazis and idiots who don't understand we are all from Africa - some of us just got bleached along the way and forgot our roots.

  • @maximojuliani agreed

  • So much racism!!!!

  • Julius and Augustus Caesar are two of the most brilliant emperor / general we have ever seen in history . Ave Caesar

  • @Mandalarava or the most brilliant murdering self serving narcissistic...wait isn't that all Imperialists old and new...?

  • @coolasacoldsummer Nigger! hehehe

  • @coolasacoldsummer His English asks for help!

I do not understand anything that a monkey like you wanted me to say!

  • @coolasacoldsummer No, he is not nigger!

    Fuck africa!

  • Is this mini-series as good as HBO's Rome?

  • @richiemo2000

no were near as good as ROME.

If you want great story telling from the Imperial era check out I' Claudius

  • @petarphyle cool, thx man, I will definetly check it out, isn't that the show with Patrick Stewart? and is it as good as Rome?

  • @richiemo2000

it doesnt have the same epic battles, scenery or effects as Rome , but the story is actually better than Rome

Yes it has Patrick Stewart in it playing a right nasty snake.

Claudius has a fantastic storyline which follows the Octavians wife Livia killing off different members of her family to secure the throne for her son.

the best way to view Claudius is to think that your watching a play as opposed to a multi million $ HBO production

  • @coolasacoldsummer Go back to humping your dog troll.

  • No man, no.

  • English?

  • I dont want to spoil this for anyone, but he dies in the end

  • @ezelite fag

  • @KnockOut22 why, you wanna suck?

  • @ezelite No shit, it's history.

  • Can you tell me what song was in the background?

  • But lets not confuse the fact that in the begiining romans were largely of italic descendents and that includes the army. Yes later this was not the fact. Why don't you state the facts as to when rome intergrated the army.

  • I'm not trying to make this an italian thing but to say romans weren't italian is just a lie, Romans were mostly italians until they started giving citizenship to non romans(italians) and started using non Romans into the army. Rome became america

  • the art of movie trailers

-get music with violins and a choir

-flash vague yet meaningful words across the screen

-bash a bunch of scenes together until it fits the music

-end with a REALLY long fade out to the music

  • Caesar didnt unite the empire, he actually divided it more than ever (Populares and Optimates) playing the everyday people against the senate. He created a civil war and was killed by the senate. Also when he died the empire was in turmoil.

  • @JacksMannequinLover True it was actually Octavian who did the unification.

  • @JacksMannequinLover Quite, however, his actions paved the way for the Principate, and the Pax Rommanum, something which would have been impossible without him.

  • @JacksMannequinLover Populares and Optimates were already divided before Caesar thats why they are two different groups! Caesar was a Popular a defendor of Roman People so the hell with corrupt oliguargs and burocrats of Senate at least Caeasar valued the capable during his rule and not the most wealthy and corrupt

  • Man I havent watch this movie but your trailer simply amazes me I bet the movie isnt all that good but this trailer is great! I must watcth this movie just because you made such amazing trailer congrats my friend!

  • What were soundtracks you used here?

  • Sic semper tyrannis.

  • Watch my movie about Julius Caesar!:)

  • delirium. stupid American movies, there is nothing from history. fantasy and fun.

  • @mphet26 This is the most historically accurate flim ever made about Julius Caesar, you think you can do better, tough guy?

  • awesome movie!

  • Holy Caesar! Caesar be actor who plays in law and order! Caesar is not dead, he is alive once more through the actor of law and order! Glory be to Caesar!

  • Heil Caesar!

  • does anyone know where i can watch this online? we watched it in my english class but only up until they plan to kill caesar. so i want to watch the rest.

  • in this series they made caesar out to be a mad man

  • wonderful movie :D

  • Comment removed

  • Cool video.

  • yes i m caesar .. and i knew that we couldnt make lorica segmenta !! we adopted this armour in 1 century AD !

  • iz Denzel Washington in dis movie?

  • romans didnt wear Lorica segmenta during the republic

  • were you there my friend?

  • talking to 187centimeters of course

  • where can i watch the entire movie??

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • Best roman history movie i ever saw. Saw this one 1 year ago in Latin class pretty kickass movie that guy was a playboy dude.

  • we need a theatrical movie about julius ceaser and augustus!

  • Yes, we need a movie about Julius Caesar. Peace!

  • aw thank u

  • @iangatsby21 Well this maybe an old comment to you but the good news is they are making a Theatrical movie of Caesar. The bad news is Hugh Jackman left the role of Caesar and they now have the fat actor Ray Winstone playing him. I'm not saying he's a bad actor I just think they made a mistake on casting him.

  • @greyfox129 lol i dont think it matters all the much considering that the movie your talking about is going to be a musical set in the 1920's...

  • @zebren WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! why don't just tell all Caesar fans to go F&*K themselves. wow I did not know that and now i'm really not even going to bother checking it out. Thanks for that info.

  • @greyfox129 is the theatrical movie going to be in theatres???? if so id pay top dollar to see that lol. i have like a fetish for anything roman/italian

  • @TAKEMARU666 Yeah but it's going to suck like Zebren said the story is set in the 1920's gangster era and it's a musical. Not accurate at all. All the reason it will suck ass.

  • @TAKEMARU666 Roman and Italian arent the same thing

  • @ImperialGuard9001 your an Idiot, I guess Nazi's and germans aren't the same thing?... Romans were italians especially before Trajan and in Caesars time the army was made up of Itaial soldiers, yes later Romans included many people including most of europe and east but in the beginning romans started out as Italian tribes. Roman became more like america's were they included all races

  • @mrrice69 If you want counterargument someone first thing you dont do is insult the person you are oposed says righ from the star that you are asshole that thinks that he is best know it all. Dont see the Nazi and German Comparation to Roman and Italian. And Italian werent even around when Romans(only if you count the Byzantines) were alive italian as modern nationality of Italy? No chance neither was a German a English a Portuguese a Spaniard etc Of course Romans star as Itallic Latin People

  • And so what proves me wrong in what matter? I never denny that Romans were a Italic people but eventualy they integrated people from all sort of backgrounds and even the "Italians" were all roman at star in begging only a part of Latin peoples were Romans! Italy had peoples from so different backgrounds Greek Samnite Keltic etc they all were integrated to the empire like the rest of Hispania Britania Gaul Germania Inferior etc so almost everyone can claim a Roman Ancestry not only Italians

  • even the "Italians" werent*

In fact the Empire even lasted longer in East! So I guess Greeks have better claim to the "Roman Ancestry" than Italians

By 212 the Emperor Carcala gave Roman Citizenship to all Subjects inside the Empire in other words both legaly and culturaly all people that live on Roman Empire were True Romans!

  • @ImperialGuard9001 Look all you guys are playing with words, Obviously Romans included all of the empire but what you fail to mention romans originated in rome and the italic peoples and that lasted up until caesar and after unchanged. Yes they were intergrated but this was later on in the empire, .Lets stop playing with words here. I responded to someone who said romans weren't italian . I was just trying to point out how silly that statement was.

  • @ImperialGuard9001 I agree basically. But remember, my friend, most people don't understand the word 'socialism.' So, you must define it.

  • @iangatsby21 Yes we do.

  • @iangatsby21 Yes there are at least hundred events in Roman history to make films about it.

  • hel caesar !!

  • ave

  • @187centimeters Right.. Well say hello to his spirit from all of us then

  • You're a fucking moron

  • Despite all the negativity here, I still thump my chest and declare:

    "Ave Caesar!"

  • @Egoist1957 you might as well say sieg heil - Caesar was Hitler's inspiration.

  • @lisduggan64 "Ave Caesar" Even the movement of the hand that the roman used to salute was copied by this damned racist Hitler, may he be sent to hell!

  • dude its jacob and his enemy, did anyone notice this???

  • IwatchedallofOZ it is you who will burn you foollish infadel also your a inpius prick

  • caesar had a criminal back ground julius caesar will burn in eternity hell

  • Why are you racist queers oposing to the great Caesars hair color. blond hair fucks people up...just look at the silly amerikans

  • Learn to spell americans .. dip shit

  • Aveee Caesar :X:X

    he comes back from hell

    Aveee:X

  • LAME

  • first off, how much do you really care about hair color, secondly, this makes caesar look like a good man and a great hero -bah! show no respect, there was obviously a reason why 60 people decided to kill him - and dont say it was just a movie. ive learned about this in school and i read the book

  • Of course there was a reason, they envied him and didn't want him to get more power than they.

  • 60 people decided to kill him, because they envy him and what he had done. Why? 1- Caesar was the best and most brilliant general in the history of Rome..2- The fact that he had the intention of taking the power from a bunch of rich families who though themselves as gods (the 60 "people")) to distribute it equally to the people, not only in Rome, but in the rest of the empire.

  • While people like Cassius may have been greedy, Brutus had good intentions killing Caesar. And btw, movies change everything. I'm sure there's a movie out there that makes Columbus look like a hero too. And Augustus was greatest.

  • i agree caresar wasn't a young blonde kid , they didnt work a little at the movie , u can see even from trailer

  • that guy doesn't look like Ceasar AT ALL! C'mon dude show the man some respect, he took over half the world!

  • so did hitler idiot

  • @cherry8341 tell me you say hitler was an idiot, Oh so that is why he took all EUROPe and half of russia

  • @WHYSOWIRELESS no thats another issue he took all europe and half russia just cuz he was a psycho mtherfucker , but besides that yea he was an idiot , what do u call a guy who masscares millions for no reason ? genius ? lol

  • or an evil genius

  • @absolumer yes. genius. a psycho is someone who just does big things without reason. a genius is one who does big things and goes far in life.

  • @WHYSOWIRELESS he held it for less than 10 years he was an idiot

  • Caesar was not blond !!!

  • He is not blond in the movie he has gray hair towards the end. If you watch the movie you will see he has black hair.

A Roman with blond hair would have made it nowhere since blond hair was attributed to the barbarians.

  • Yeah, Jesus was blond as well !

  • I do not know if you are trying to be sarcastic or ironic. But I was agreeing with you that Caesar did not have blond hair and was also pointing out that Caesar does not have blond hair in the movie he has gray hair but it looks blond in the trailer.

  • ironie :-)

  • Actually one of the Roman Emperors had blonde hair and light eyes. I think it was Octavian but I am not sure which one.

  • wla po bang tagalog version po nito??yung kumpleto po..kagaya nung pinalabas sa cinema one..

  • If Alexander the great then Julius Caesar the greatest

  • can't spell greatest with out great. :)

can't have a roman empire with out the greek empire first.

  • can one call a man who said "alea iacta est" a gambler?

  • i love caesar julius that is. augustus was a cunt and antony could have kicked his ass if it wasn't for cleopatra and all that.

  • hello to you all you might want to know that I put the movie on.

you must put JULIUS CAESAR to watch it.

  • Good Lord, I forgot how good Jeremy Sisto was in this. Flawless. The trailer was great. ; )

  • "His name, is Julius, CAESAR!!!"

  • ave Caesar

  • Tha actor is to young to be a Caesar

  • Hows the actor of caesar is called? doesnt he look like matthew bellamy from muse?

  • but dont you think that actor makes a better Octavian than a Caesar?

Seems abit nimble, and not quite rugged enough to be Julius Caesar

  • READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a great new bio (Charlton Heston: An Incredible LIfe: Revised Edition) talking about Heston's own Julius Caesar films! The bio is at amazon!

  • is that a cross at 0:28? didn't the roman empire exist long before Christianity?

  • The cross was around long before Christianity. Rome, Carthage and Persia used crucifixion as a form of execution since roughly the 6th century BCE in 337 CE Emperor Constantine I abolished crucifixion in the Roman empire out of veneration for Jesus Christ

  • oh right using crucifixion as a form of execution!!!! thanks!

  • that was an execution

  • yes and so did death by crucifying

  • THAT is what i call bloody!

  • Does anyone what the main theme song of the series is? I can't find it anywhere!

  • you made this with windows movie maker? i am extremely impressed

  • 0:59 cool

  • where can i watch this movie? without buying?

  • this is an amazing movie.

    i loved it.

  • i love this

  • Whats the name that starts at 0:25-1:16

  • It's the music from the TROY trailer. I don't think it has a name other than "Original TROY trailer music"

  • where i can download the series

  • Rome from HBo is a great serie, but not for history at school. You can best watch Ancient Rome from BBC, or the film Julius Caesar from wich this trailer is made!

  • HBO Rome is a great serie, but not for history at school. Shakespeare's version isn't good either. You can best watch Julius Caesar(2003), from wich this trailer is made! Or Ancient Rome(2006)

    from BBC.

  • The song that is playing is Requiem for a dream. great song!!

  • is this based on Shakespeare?

  • very well done!

  • AVE CAESAR! Europe need to be UNITED like in ROMAN TIMES! WE NEED A CONTINENT THAT IS UNITED, BOUNDLESS AND FREE!

  • Yes, you're right. That's my opinion, too. If the European states want to save their high position in the world, they have to found a united Europe. This is the only key to future!

Long live Europe! Long live Napoleon! Long live Caesar!

  • "Long live Caesar!"- too bad caesar died. ._.

  • Do you know of any movies that tell the tale of Julius Caesar? I need to watch one for a class I am in at school. If you know of one or even more that one please let me know.

  • Hi,

    I know some:

    1. "Rome HBO" (series about Rome, the Roman Empire and a lot of Julius Caesar. Very good!)

    2. "Julius Caesar" (1953, with Marlon Brando, adapted from Shakespeare's drama. I haven't seen it yet. Some scenes are on youtube. Their really good;-)

I hope, my advice helps you. Greetings!

  • And I forgot: "Julius Caesar" (1979), another version based on Shakespeare.

  • Ave Caesar

  • From what I remember, Rome had no dictators unless they were appointed by the Senate in times of crisis. Caesar himself was appointed dictator in the latter stages of his career. I'm sure there are a bunch of people who are better informed, but wouldn't his opening remarks technically be incorrect? However, we do lack the context in which he was speaking. Maybe he was talking about Sulla... ?

  • "From what I remember, Rome had no dictators unless they were appointed by the Senate in times of crisis. Caesar himself was appointed dictator in the latter stages of his career".

You are correct. Caesar was appointed dictator for life. Besides Caesar the most known dictators were Sulla and Fabius Maximus Cunctator - the one who fought Hannibal without engaging him in any battle for years.

PS: : sorry about my english :(

  • Don't worry, your English is fantastic!

  • Jeremy Sisto was perfect as Julius Caesar. So hot!!!

  • I think he was the best ruler of a nation in Ancient World and Rome was the most organized empire in the world. I am Macedonian and I think Julius Caesar was a better leader then Macedonia's Alexander. I am especially fascinated by the technologies the Romans developed for uses in peace and war such as roads and aquaducts. Greetings to the Italians (Rome) and everyone who likes Caesar

  • I agree with you. Have you read Colleen McCullough's series about the fall of the Roman Republic?

  • No unfortunatley I haven't read McCullough's series. Although assuming you have read them, would you recommend the books?

  • Absolutely. If you like history and particularly Roman Empire history you should definitely read McCullough's series. There are 7 books most of them having more than 800 pages. I have read 4 of them. I started by the fourth book (spanning the years 67-59 BC) and last month i finisfed the seventh and last one (spanning the years 41-27 BC). Now im looking for reading the first three books concerning mainly the wars between Caius Marius and Sulla.

I strongly recommend you read this series.

  • Julius Caesar is God

  • Just reading the 12 Caesars by Suetonius and it's nothing like any of this they were all interesting but pretty twisted. For most people it was slavery, and for a very few it was perverse.

  • hey ludachris, you must be a gay greek, the romans conquered that little shit hole and the romans turned them into slaves

  • Lmao to the Romans the Greeks were what we call today fags ;)

  • Heh. And the Greeks were to the Romans what we call today pussies. :-)

    It's a small world...

  • Grazie!

    SPQR

  • Never seen it but it looks good, though the depiction of Sulla is all wrong(he was'nt that old!).

  • Be glad they mention Sulla at all... I find that most who try their luck with Caesar often forget contextual characters like Catilina, Sulla, Publius Clodius, etc.

  • Yeah, not to mention Cato, the younger, Caius Marius or Cicero.

  • Where did you find this music?
