I understand this guy, but he is wrong in that the Federal Reserve is to blame. They are independent from the government (sort of). They are not entirely the problem. The banks (the ordinary ones) are to blame for giving bad loans to high risk people who shouldn't be trusted with money. Not down with the federal reserve, but down with credit cards!

This journalist is trying to sensationalize. I was down to the protest in New York yesterday and it was very peaceful. There may have been less than a hundred people arrested for disorderly conduct. The police are not being abusive. They have to do their job. The mayor says they can stay as long as there is no violence.

Unfortunately this will only be resolved in blood, i've thought that ever since i learned of the economies state and who were responsible for it. @xeikai WRONG...the revolution in the US was founded on taxation without representation, that is what the Boston Tea Party was all about it had nothing to do with Monarchy....that came much later as it mushroomed, you must have went to Sarah Palin University......all the colonists wanted was representation, especially a seat or so in Parliament, they refused....if it was about Monarchy why did they keep states with Monarchy names, Maryland, Georgia, Carolinas, Virginia ...

Banks were always allowed to securitize loans. The only deregulation of Glass Steagall was the restrictions on commercial banks being affiliated with investment banks. Commercial banks could still NOT engage in brokerage activities.

@zickiedo There needs to be separation between deposit and loan banking based on basic fraud laws, not preventive regulation. Glass Steagall doesn't do that for reasons stated in the links. Also, other countries never had any Glass Steagall regulations. Why didn't they go bust?
