  • that is awsome

  • ok yes she can do that but there are plenty of kids who can do that as well. Ehcapa Bareback Riders is a club with kids ages 8 to 19. I am a current member of this club and i would like to add that i can do all of that with my horse too. As well can about another 15 kids younger than Stacy. In fact she started doing this because of Ehcapa. She is wonderful at what she does i just think people should know that she isnt the only one and what her inspiration was.

  • wow...she is amazing!!!the horse looks like spartan from Heartland...(thumbs up if you watch Heartland)

  • I would love to have a connection with my horse the way she does she is an amazing rider

  • amazing and tear jerking. increible

  • So pretty to see a horse going like they really go! Not with his nose on the ground like beagle. Proves you can ride well or kick one around. Great to see someone care as we should. Thanks

  • in am inspired by her:)

  • She's not deaf?? Where did anyone get that idea??

  • her dad died 24 days earlier, and this girl is completely deaf!! She's an inspiration!!

  • @Valerieke79 She's not deaf dude...where did you hear that???

  • Can anyone out ride this woman???? AMAZING

  • I love this she is awesome and so is her horse

  • I'm an English rider, and I love watching this. But for me, the most remarkable part was watching the horse's tongue flick over its lips. It's such a sign of trust in his rider.

  • she's my idol !

  • Why the hell are they playing such a sad song? Lol.

  • @ObsidianDeathStone its a sad song because she dedicated it to her dad who had died a couple days before

  • @ObsidianDeathStone it was dedicated to her dad, who died a week or so before this ride.

  • That's a true rider!

  • She is my IDOL!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is just amazing! She it truly fantastic!

  • I wanna ride like her one day.... :)

  • Cannot stop watching this amazing performance.

  • I love this it's amazing ur awesome

  • Incredible horsemanship

  • I've seen this before, but just posted it again on facebook tonight. My dear friend and co-worker is terminal with cancer, but has the best attitude and faith! Thank you for posting this!

  • just in curiosity, why is the horse licking his lips the whole time?

  • @shelbieshelbs It's a sign of submission. It basically means that he's paying attention to her and following her cues.

  • @shelbieshelbs when horses lick it means they are thinking and processing information so basically its a good thing

  • @RyceKake95 Actually no it means their relaxed.

  • This is the most AMAZING thing I've ever seen!! Incredible bond between her & her hors.e Love it!

  • 3 people have absolutely no idea of the correct ride!

    to nice video! I love it. <3

  • I have seen this so many times <3 i love it<3 they are both so amazing

  • When I saw her at Congress when I was little, she immeditatley became my idol. I'm training my new horse Abraham to do this now, and one day I'll take the same ride at Congress, and dedicate it to her to sparking my dreams.

  • I love this video , Stacy and roxy are the best! Stacy is an amazing rider! :)

  • Why do they have to be "enforced" by spurs? No bit enforcement ... Their hide is as sensitive as the bars of their mouths ... slightly touch your horse anywhere on their body and watchy them show you they felt your slight touch ... like the touch of a small insect ... no bit .... no spur ... thats "natural" ...

  • @mariahcarrot1 your right, its not natural. some horses can be trained to be sensitive like this horse is and the lightest touch can make him turn, some horses need a liddle more encouragement. different spurs and bits are used for different disiplines. every horse is different, so there for different instrements are used in order to make the horse do what is asked of him.

  • GAH!! I LOVE HER AND HER HORSE SO FREAKING MUCH!!!!!!

  • That takes a lot of leg, and a lot of guts.

  • this is the same performance that she had dedicated to her dad who had passed away just 20 days prior to the competition if i remember right.

  • i was theree!! she is amazing! and i love her horse roxy!! but when i was watching her clinic at the congress roxy's arthritis kicked in and it took 7 cowboys to get her to limp her way out :( but she is okay now (: she just cant do reining anymore! but i sitll love roxy!!

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack: I totally agree with you, they are an extra "umph" to the horse. The problem lies with idiots who don't know the proper way to use spurs.

  • I can't believe she could do that i ride my horse bareback but I'd me freaked out during then

  • i didn't know this was possible. thank you.

  • There is one thing about Stacy Westfall, "She Gets It" - my hat goes off to her! Stacy you are one great horsewoman!

  • 3 people don't have an awesome QH (:

  • @gibbygirl89 me too!!! :)

  • amazing video! i like the way the horse is licking her lips throughout like the whole video. she is obviously comfortable with her rider and what she's doing :)

  • seriously how can two people not like this? haha

  • that was the ride she did after her father died

  • wow, das ist echt der hamma!!vorallem das pferd vertraut dem reiter voll das sieht man an dem lecken mit der zunge..

    und das die reiterin sich drauf halten kann ist och toll

  • One of the BEST videos I have EVER SEEN!! You are truely Horsemanship!! I to own horses and can relate to loosing my Dad before a performance. You know he is looking down on you from Heaven, but we will soon be there with them. God Bless You!!

  • This video never fails to make she shed a tear and miss horses so much.

  • the horses show/registered name is Baby Doll and its stable name is roxy

  • shes the best rider i ever seen..i love baby doll!!

  • The horses name is Roxy ... its not Baby doll...

    But Stacey is a really good rider!

    I think western riding is really cool! (A)

    X from Holland

  • I've seen this countless times. I tear up every time I see it. Amazing bond! I will see Stacey In Calif. Aug. 27 and 28 ... Can't wait.

  • wow! you are so lucky to have been able to see that!! it is really a beautiful ride!

  • haha reminds me of Flicka..bareback..u look so free

    those were some kick ass stops btw ;) wicked cool keep it up!

  • this is for you tambo!

  • lol love how the horse's tongue keeps darting out. but wow this lady is amazing!!! i would love to ride parelli like that.

  • This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen! This woman is it, she is the real deal!! There is no forcing here, this horse is incredibly trained and truly wants to please Stacy. For all those who are against spurs, its time to stop using your crops, whips, your bridle and bit as they are all the same thing - A tool...all tools can be dangerous in the wrong hands...there is absolutely no difference! If I could be like any rider in the world it would be Stacey Westfall! Good Job!

  • No one should say anything about Stacey she is truely amazing to ride that horse bareback and then with no reins half of you that are saying bad stuff about her proably dont know how hard it is to sit properly while riding a reiner it isnt easy so shut your mouths. This is a wonderful performance and a wonderful and if anybody has anything against it then I think that you need a reality check.

  • you are truly AMAZING i look up to you i really do

  • you are amazing i wish my horse would trust me that much ive been riding for 7 years

  • i don't care who you are this is the most amazing video i have ever seen. She has tru connection with her horse if she can do that.

  • Ich Liebe es einfach so sehr..=)

  • i love stacey! i would love to meet her one day,shes such a great rider=)

  • she explained at equine affaire that she uses spurs because they allow her to give her horse a very specific cue. touch your arm with your whole hand then touch it with just one finger. you can be much more specific with your finger because its smaller and more direct.without hands she has to rely more on her seat and legs, and her spurs make it easier for her to communicate with her horse

  • its so sweet how she dedicated this ride to her dad!

  • ich liebe dieses video und dieses lied ... hammer show *hut ab*

  • WoW !!! *-*

  • im looking into buying her training halter, and what not. I'm excited!

  • Unglaublich!  Wunderschön

  • soo toll ♥

  • Haha, I know, I have to use spurs for a few horses i work with but it seems she has such a great bond with her horse that she doesn't really need them

  • I'm going to be nice and just simply say that SOME horses need them. Spurs are not abusive instruments when used correctly. They are to enforce leg cues.

  • @BarrelsPolesandJack haha, I meant to give you a thumbs up! lol

  • It's cool. :)

  • I want Stacey to train me in reining....we both live in Ohio lol. I've ridden Western my whole life but I really want reining instruction from her

  • alas the million dollar ride!

    ~~~Dortae~~~
  • I miss my horse :( this is soo heart warming!
  • that horse is licking it's lips allll the time..
    which means it's not upset or stressed in anyway.. to get from a horse is something Awesome!!
  • This gives me goosebumps everytime I watch it!!! She is such a talented rider and I love Roxy! They make an awesome team!!! Go Stacy and Roxy!!!
  • omg she is my idol!!!!
  • she is sooo AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! =))
  • She and roxy are amzing together. Did anyone else notice roxy kept sticking her tounge out? lol
  • love her sjes great
  • amazing absoultouly amazing.. i haveb een riding for 5 yerars and i stil couldnt even have the bals to do that with bridle saddle and everything.. aazing.. i thoughti was good on bare back.. she and her rocky are flawless
  • I couldnt even ride my horse in there fully tacked (he's a coward lol and I am too) and here she is bareback and bridleless...Amazing :)
  • Stacy Goes to my church i have yet to meet her but i am sure i will get to talk to her one of these day! she is very talented and amazing!
  • This is truely amazing!!! I'll be attempting this with my little youngster when he's ready!
  • My sister did a freestyle run at the Porter County fair that was inspired by This run. If you get a chance check it out. It is titled Vietnam Ride by Alex Lacher. Keep in mind my sister is 13 and has had this horse for a little over a year.
  • i luv roxy she's such a great horse.
    stacy westfall is sooo talented!!!
  • Wow she is amazing and i love reining!
  • I met her at Breyerfest. :)  She and Roxy were amazing!
  • Everyone seriously needs to chill and just enjoy this amazing and touching performance instead of making it a pissing contest. Honestly if any of you were THAT great you'd be doing what she's doing and posting your on videos for others to watch and enjoy, not arguing on youtube.
  • @kristinb026  RIGHT
  • Watch Roxy during the performance - she's constantly licking. That's a sign that she's relaxed. Amazing that she's as relaxed as she is during this performance - like it's just another day on the farm.
  • I went to free style reining at the 06 Congress. Her run was amazing!
  • (: Stacy is amazing.
  • the best video ever!!!!!!!
  • go stacy yeah go roxy
  • shes my hero i wanted to start reining because of her
  • This woman is AWESOME!! She is my riding inspiration...
  • isnt it funny how people pick fights about such an amazing video.
    Cant anyone just not complain.
  • i agree
  • Congrats on the breyer Roxy and Stacy!!!!!
  • this is the coolest thing i've EVER seen anyone do with a horse!!! someday i hope that i can go to the congress to see them perform before she retires roxy!!
  • I love Congress!
    I had so much fun when I took my mare there in 2007.
    And Stacey is just great.
    I love seeing her connection with horses.
  • you just havent lived till you've ridden bridleless. this is horse and human at their best.
  • this video brings tears to my eyes. The bond she obviously has with her horse is absolutely amazing!!!
  • HAMMER
    5 stars =)
  • I lope bareback but not that good!
  • razrbladefaerie, I have yet to see a horse that doesn't pin their ears once in the whole time they're out performing. That horse is as broke as they come, and if you have one that's anywhere near that good I'd like to see it! I'd say she has quite a bit of talent and skill unless the judges didn't know what they were talking about. Anyway, wonderful video! I've seen this performance a couple times before and it never stops amazing me. ( :
  • amazing
  • als je dat alles kan ,dan ben je een echte!
    proficiat!
  • well arn't you proud. go out there, on your 'tackless horse' with all the people cheering, and win champion. against all those other trainers. Go for it.
  • I'm sorry, but what is a lip rein? I've never heard of that, ever. I'm assuming it's some kind of..hidden aid?
  • yeah...right...so what do you think she did with it when she stood on its back!? Stacy Westfall doesn't use hidden aids or else someone would have definitley figured it out by now.
  • Watch her hand at 2:17, if she had a lip rein Roxy would've tossed her head or shown some sign of her face being pulled on..... Only aide she has is spurs and even then they aren't really used. Get a clue.
  • What a beautiful animal! What a beautiful girl. What a beautiful video.
    You brought tears to my eyes.
    Thank you.
  • Fine show--She would be great with cutting horses.  You have the saddle and bridle but in most shows you cannot use the reins--just knee and heel cues.
  • Believe it or not, she doesn't even own that horse! xP
    Stacy is an amazing horsewoman, definately my horse person idol. I've read that it took her about two years, riding her every day, to get Roxy to do that. And get this;; ROXY WAS ONLY FIVE IN THAT VIDEO.
  • Um... really? Where did you read that? I read in one of my western horseman magazines that when she got back home she decided to work with her mare Roxy to get to this point.
  • I'm not entirely sure about how they got Stacy working with her, but Roxy isn't owned by Stacy. xP I'd have to look it up to give you more info.
  • One of her friends own's the horse and Stacy and her Husband did the training on her.
  • I thought I stated that?
  • Incredible that is all I have to say.
    You don't see that good of a relationship everyday!
  • She's the one who inspired me to ride bridless.
  • Awesome! She is so great! Love her and her talent!
  • That was amazing. True partnership between horse and rider.
  • Fantastic!
  • Way to go Stacey!!When I grow up I want to be just like you(I'm 42 lol)You've really inspired me, dreams can come true!
  • Staceys a true idol of mine^-^ im adicted tew her! O.O lols im training my horse like this^^ but wat can i say.. ill never be as good as her^^ U ROCK STACEY!!
  • God I am so inspired every time I see this. Stacy and babydoll are an incredible team!!!!
  • OMFG... she's amazing! I wish that me and my horses will be such a dreamteam like them someday!
  • shes an amazing rider!
  • AWESOME! STACEY WESTFALL ROCKS!!!!!
  • i wish my horse did that! ^_^
  • stacy...roxy...u two are my heros!!!
  • i love how Roxy's mane and Stacey's ponytail flop up and down at the same time! she is such an incredible rider!
  • Totally Awesome, gave me chills and brought tears to my eyes.
  • there bond is amazing!
  • I <3 QH's! i'm gong to try try and convince my trainer to help me learn to ride like that in the round pen at my next lesson lol death wish....
  • lol. good luck. but you first have to learn how to ride with a saddle on. you have to learn how to ride any kind of horse (age, training level, ect). and you would probably want to start the horse guiding off your legs really well. you cant just go from riding a little school pony(not saying you do, but hopefully you get what i'm talking about) to riding with no tack and expecting the horse to listen to your every little cue.
  • its not really rocket science either, even though everyone seems to think that it is and stacy is like the god of reining or something. believe me, there is way way way better out there. sure it is dazzling to see someone do that with no tack but i've known much more broke horses. lol.
  • how much more broke do you want the horse to be? How do you get a horse more broke than to be 100% rideable with NO artificial aids? Riderless too? Then what is the point? Most people like to ride the horse too, not just watch it.
  • I've never seen a horse that spins without pinning its ears.
  • well i guess you've not seen many reiners or you cannot distinguish the difference between discomfort and not.
