Ian Holm was great as ever.

In terms of Music Score (by Vangelis), this is my favorite movie. Not only the main music. For example: from 8:08 to the end of this video, is my favorite scene in the movie.

@ignominious79 if you think his Bilbo is good (don't get me wrong, it's wonderful, but his Frodo in the bbc Radio adaptation 1981, same year as this, is probably his best part. He played him perfectly.) He's great as Sam in this though :)
