We Nogais do the same. But we dont use the stones. We make hole in the ground and make a fire. After that we put the goat also in the hole. And we close the hole for a couple hours. We also put the meat with the bones. The finish rule is that the bone must come without meat when you pull the bone.

He says "rotten milk" to describe to the viewer how it tastes. It's not supposed to be offensive. How else can he describe something to us westerners that have never,and probably will never, taste authentic Mongolian cuisine in our lifetimes?

Mr. Zimmern, that "something squirted out of cow's udder" is called milk. It doesn't come any fresher than that. Of course, the only milk you have known comes in a plastic jug from your local grocery store. Calling Mongolian dairy products a "rotten milk" is offensive. Particularly when for the same processed dairy foods you have fancy names such (blue cheese, mozzarella) just because it came from places like Italy or France. Mongolians have thousands years old tradition of processing milk

@Frohergeist You are right, I don't watch this show and I have to give a credit to the host--he really showed the authentic mongolian foods and he actually ate some of it as strange as it seemed. We mongolians LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dairy. We have all the dairy products that are sold in western supermarkets. I can't imagine him going to let's say Italy to a dairy farm and calling their products a "rotten cheese". God forbid, It's not a rotten milk--it's PARMIGIANO REGIANO! It's a double standard.
