Stop unwanted programs by using Microsoft Process Explorer. Use reginout to remove temporary unwanted files and repair corrupt registry files.

If you have used your Pc for at least a couple of months and haven't cleaned your registry, DO IT. You might be amazed how much faster and smoother it will run after you get rid of some 2000 useless entries. "Free Window Registry Repair" is a fairly effective tool.

Scanning your computer for malware,update your browser and add-ons to the latest versions,go to task manager and end some unused programs except ""explorer.exe and winlogon.exe'' this two process are strongly not allowed to end because it is some part of windows.

There are many reasons.

lack of ram

overheating

virus infercted

bad hard drive

the most possible reason is a corrupt registry.

suggest you clean it with Reginout.

Another thing you can do if your using a 32 bit system is right click your desktop and go to personalise. Set the colour to 16-it. there isn't much of a difference in the colours and slightly speeds up your performance.

whenever i press any keyboard button it slows my pc down. i opened Task manager and pressed a button and holded it, PC usage went up to 100% and everything was slow... i dont know what is wrong cause when i played games with controler it isnt happening. please help. The windows defragger doesn't mess anything up but it doesn't do a whole lot.

My computer has automatic defrags every Wednesday.
