pedi-paws is a great product, not trying to hate or anything but i have 2 American pitt bull terriers and they hated the clipper style cutters i had to fight them just to trim there nails, Now with pedi-paws, sure at first the noise startled my dogs but they got use to it very quick, ive only used it on them four to five times now and they dont seem to be bothered by it anymore, pretty good product ive recommended it to a few of my friends already
I would hate to see you demo nail clippers. You need to read instructions and educate yourself both on the product and dog training. Pedi Paws is a good product for the average pet owner. It is safer than clippers and a dremel, both of which are far more likely to hurt the dog in the hands of an inexperienced owner. The Pedi Paws is strong enough to do a good job yet not strong enough to cause serious injury if you slip and nick the flesh.
Wow this is a stupid video...U probe didn't read the instructed how to do it..cause I bought it and use it today and my dog act like it was nothing only had to giver her some treats and more love and she was fine, yes it can take awhile to do the dogs nail with the pedipaw but I don't mind I love my dog & I want her claw to be nice.
It's a great tool!!!!! I rather use that then clips it's much easyer that way
A drill and lighter don't scare my dog she wants to sniff it so I doubt my dog is so soft as to not like the sound pf pedipaw maybe your dog shouldn't be such sauce
Take it from a dog groomer: Pedi Paws is a joke. Normal dremels are way better. Pedi Paws runs slow, and that little hole that the nail is supposed to go into doesn't always work out they way you plan. Just be sure to not let your dog get his/her face, tongue, ears, or tail caught in a dremel.
I just bought one. People say that nail trimming isnt a positive experience and I dont think that pedipaws help. My Labs nails got real long and it didnt work that well. I mean no dog likes its nails done no matter what you use. I also dont think that they like the viabration, noise, or how it feels. I dont know how it feels to my dog or any dog, but when my dog sends my signals that he doesnt like something i take them.
our one dog screams bloody murder and goes to bite with nails. we never gentled her daily, with food treats and slowly massase her paws and get her used to it
she hates being walked so her nail cannot be filed down from the road
You need to be really patient and introduce it to your dog slowly. I watched a video on youtube this morning and copied someone's technique. I was able to trim my maltipoo's nails w/o a fuss. It didn't hurt her at all. She just sat on my lap and after a while, she just laid there and let me do her nails =)
I had to rub my eyes cause I thought I recognized you. Then I read the tags and I guess I did he he.
Anyways, I feel bad for your dog though. Even if it weren't so painful, I doubt it was a pleasant experience.
Kind of like for me, the sound of nails on a chalkboard doesn't bother me at all, but when I do it myself the sensation going through my fingers is terrible. I imagine this device might feel similar.
You should keep it though. Show it to him she he is doing something naughty lol.
What is it supposed to do, trim the nails? Seems a bit... involved. I only have cats and for trimming their nails, the simpler the better. Dunno how that translates to dogs. :-)
Basically, it's a battery operated Dremel rotary tool and file wheel, with a guard so it can "gently" file the nail down rather than cutting it.
Seems like a terrible idea, as these sorts of files tend to grab quite often. This would probably be worse for cats as their nails are smaller and sharper.
I have to imagine that the animals in the infomercial were probably sedated to deal with this so well lol.
your right because I put my finger in while it was on ( accidentally ) and it took burnt off some skin. Friction is an intersting thing so you have to use it right and for dogs nails im not so sure.

I use Pedi Paws on my service dog a 15 month old Australian Shepard. It is just as effective my Dremel tool with the following remarks;
1. I don't have to compete with the wire for those of us that don't have a wireless Dremel tool.
2. You will have to order the non standard sanding disks, a plus for Dremel
3. Pedi Paws is way quieter than my Dremel tool
4. "C" batteries are a drag to find.
5. I think the most important is that your pet has to trust you, not the tool.

it will work if you properly introduce it to your dog over a longer period of time.
