  • HTC很爛?

  • i Want Da Omnia 2 It Posed @ Be Betta Den A i-Phone

  • Thanks for this video filmed outside which gives an idea what the screen looks like under broad daylight.

  • forgot to ask how loud is the speaker as i listern to music >?

  • do you find this phone laggy how bad is this phone compared to the HD icon>??

  • Thanks guys!! =D does this have the pandora appt?

  • looks like a great mobile and I am hoping to get one, but my only concern is does the omnia 2 have an alphanumeric keyboard for texting in the standard way. please can someone help. thanks

  • that didnt seem like unreasonable lag to me when switching between profile pages.

  • this is the omnia 2 i8000 you should do the i920, they are two different phones

  • for what network is this phone from?

  • Do you need to pay to upgrade to windows 6.5?

  • Nope, you don't need to.

  • @65bits hi nice vid! i just bought it ! but curently its in windows 6.1... how can i update to 6.5? there is no update icon in the internet page of my phone..

hope u make more vids of cool phones like this!

  • @mrmajorpsycho Thanks for your compliments! We hope you subscribe to our channel!

You can update your phone by visiting samsung mobile [.] com. Pick the country you bought your phone from, and visit the support page to look for instructions to upgrade your phone.

  • do u have to pay to upgrade to windows 6.5?

  • i have verizon and i need to upgrade my phone now cuz the 2 years is up so i get the discount, do you know how much the phone will be after the discount?

  • hi, i'm thinking of getting a new phone... is the omnia2 better than the jet? i was thinking of getting the jet but then i saw the omnia2 and got confused. there's a big price difference... is the omnia2 worth the additional price tag? hope you guys can help me. thanks and great review! =)

  • I got similar problem like you before but I bought the omnia 2 because of the bigger screen 3.7 inch compared to jet which is 3.1 and one thing I dont like in jet is its Samsung's proprietary OS compared to Omnia 2's windows mobile is is very customizable.

  • thanks for the reply billionmilejourney, was kinda leaning on getting the omnia2 now but the big price difference is giving me second thoughts. but i guess it's worth it in the long run. another question, i've read in some comments that the omnia2 windows os frequently crashes.. have u experienced the same with your unit?

  • hehe pinoy pala... good! ic, so promo ng samsung siguro mo nakuha yung unit kaya may free pa... wala na ata ngayon free e. i went to mla's cp capital "greenhills" ; around 27k ang 16gig and 25 naman yung 8gig with 1yr. samsung warranty na. i think 8gig is good enough and may option for mem card upgrade naman. thanks for helping me decide... mukhang mas sulit nga talaga omnia2. =)

  • yep. Christmas promo yun. Medyo mahal ng konti d2 kasi andito ako sa Bacolod. Yung omnia 2 makakasupport ng up to 32 gb micro sd. :) pag gusto mong iimprove ang interface at speed pwede mong i tweak kasi windows mobile. hehe. goodluck sayo pre. :)

  • Can you say that in english please? I wanna know too :D.

  • hehe . . I just said that when I bought my omnia 2 last december I got a free low-end unit worth $60 :) and the preinstalled windows mobile 6.1 is not good but when you upgrade to 6.5 the omnia will be more responsive, then my unit only crash when using crappy downloaded third party apps. :) I dunno if in your country they have pre installed windows mobile 6.5

  • I was going to go for the Jet but then I found out it doesn't have windows mobile on it, just their TouchWiz software instead! So I wouldn't be able to use many apps, if any. So the Omnia II is now my choice.

  • yep, Jet is not a smartphone though its slogan says "Smarter than smartphone" and that is one of the reason why I didn't buy the jet they are using Samsung's proprietary OS which means hard to customize unlike windows mobile. Well I'm waiting for windows mobile 7 which will have a lot of cool features I guess. :) . Goodluck and choose wisely

  • a review by asians...you know its gotta be excellent!

  • great review

  • we singaporeans have been selling this phone since july 18, verizon in the states gets it in december

  • Verizon has this phone NOW!!

  • @Spacefolders but they haven't put it in stores yet.. I just went there, and they've said that they'd have early november and its december

  • what kind of camcoder do you guys use?

  • my question is when does it realease to verizon n the states

  • does it have a threaded text message like iphone does?

  • laggyyy

  • When I use the internet on that phone, will it be for free like on the iPhone?

  • No, it will be just like the iPhone. You will either have to pay for internet or sign up for a mobile plan that has internet bundled together, which is the case on the iPhone. It's not free even for the iPhone.

  • true

  • Great job guys! the phone looks great to be onest but pretty laggy. Shall I choose this or Touch HD ?

  • Why don't you wait for the Touch HD2?

  • @InteligentMan The lag is because of win mobile 6.1. You should check out a more recent review of the phone with win mobile 6.5. Lag is GONE!!! But Touch HD 2 is a great phone too, albeit more expensive, and cumbersome.

  • Yes I saw some reviews with 6.5 and is really fast! I'm gonna get this one because u can't see the ugly face of WM any more and of course great display! All the best to ya ^^

  • Thanks for the review, excellent video. keep'm coming

  • Optimization = speed

  • is this a capacitive or resistive screen?

  • nice review

and nice job on the english

    can understand perfectly

  • isent the omnea 2 for verize?

cus its not out so hou do u guys have it

  • This is a Singaporean show. We get phones months before you guys do in the states.

  • o wow ok do u havbe eny idea whan it will come out?

  • i just want to say that you guys consistently give GREAT reviews. You always touch on the important subjects and usually get to the nitty gritty. I would however like to hear more talk about cpu speeds too.

  • Thank you so much for your complement! We're really encouraged by that!

We decided that our job isn't to compete with other publications out there but to complement them by providing our viewers the ability to see the gadgets in real time, so we usually deal with the experience of devices more than benchmarking them.

Also, in my experience, a faster CPU doesn't mean faster device when it comes to smartphones cos every UI/OS demands differently. Best way to judge is still to see it for yourself

  • yah !

  • Hey I finally bought my omnia 2 here in the Philippines, and its an awesome phone. The lag dosn't bother me at all, and if WM 6.5 really solves that, then would just wait for the upgrade. I tried sending pics using bluetooth but somehow, it doesn't allow multiple pictures to be selected and sent. I ended up doing it one by one. Is it me or is there something I'm missing here?

  • what phone is better samsung omnia 2

    or the samsung i8910

  • windows mobile vs symbian, omnia i8910 is longer.

i like the omnia ii better, because of win mobile.

  • i have a queation. can you see the sreen outside good? or is it laggy?

  • this transition in samsung jet suppose to be has 123 option but only on and off in my new samsung jet. you can find this trnsition when you go to settings...display and light.....then transition effect......

if you want to see the video just type on youtube search the word...samsung jet transition

  • Sorry, but our phone is the same, just on and off. I think that phone you see in youtube is either a fake or some prototype.

  • Hi guys.. have you had any hands on experience with the Omnia 2 with WM 6.5? I've seen a few videos of the Omnia 2 with 6.5 and it seems to have corrected the lag of the phone.

  • Hey, not yet. If what you're saying is true, than that's great news!

  • whens this coming out for verizon?????????

  • Nice review, btw you said that the jet´s screen is better due to the 16M colors support, while omnia 2 has only 65k. Is it really big diffence or not? For example when you play movies (divx, xvid) how does it compare to jet or other mobile phones? Also, isn´t the OLED display supposed to be scratch resistant? (i saw one scratch in your review)

  • That really depends on you. Personally, I can't tell the difference. To me 65k is more than enough, and 16m is just a bonus.

As for scratch resistant, that's what Samsung claims, and I believe it's more resistant than others, but if you try hard enough, I'm sure you'll be able to scratch it. Secondly, that's not a scratch but a sticker stain :P

  • mr bits65 how to get many type of transition in samsung jet?

  • I don't really understand your question. Can you elaborate?

  • i have 2 questons:

1)you said something about the colors but i didnt understand..this phone has 65k because of the windows 6.1 ?? if the new winmo 6.5 allow 16m colors, the phone can show 16m then ??

2)do you thing that the problem of being laggy can be solved by updating the firmware or its hardware problem so no solution can be found??

    thanks.

  • What we meant is that theoratically it should be able to support 16 million colours, but because that's not mentioned anywhere, most likely it won't, even with 6.5

Yes, it could be solved by the firmware, but that depends if Samsung is willing to. They might choose to just release a Omnia III, for example, that is smoother.

  • i hope that they are not thinking of releasing a new omnia 3 as an immprovement of the omnia 2 because that would be ridiculus!we were waiting for so long to release the omnia 2 as a "perfect" phone and you say now that it may have unsolvable promblems??what can i do know??which phone should i buy??

  • What I meant to say is that every phone has imperfections. EVERY phone. It's up to you if it's big enough to bother you. Personally, I don't see any major problems in the Omnia II. I don't even think the lag on the Omnia II is that significant, and it's something you can easily get used to.

If you're looking for a perfect phone, then I'm sorry, there's no such thing.

  • I personally preferred the Omnia 2 because I felt that Windows Mobile is a lot more mature for touch screens than Series 60. Plus the virtual keyboard on the Omnia 2 is a lot better than the one on the Omnia HD.

  • what video cam did you use to film this?

  • We use the Sanyo Xacti HD1000.

  • There's already a scratch on it...

  • what about the camera? Is it any good in ur opinion? A lot of reviews says it's "just ok"...

And btw, can u change the wallpaper on the main menu, not the widget's main screen... (the standard green colour b/ground)

    thanks guys...

  • nice review, but it would b cool if you could go more in depth with the programs, browsing and widgets to see what this phone can really do

  • So can you make the main screen clear of widget's, and just keep the widget's on the right menu?

  • Yes you can.

  • which is better omnia l or omnia ll?

  • Omnia II, hands down.

  • what make's this better than the previous model?

did the 'mouse' option and 'd-pad' carry over to the omnia 2?

  • The user interface and the user experience has been tremendously improved, making the phone overall a lot better to use than the previous model.

If the mouse option and d-pad matters a lot to you, then I'll have to disappoint you and say that based on your special requirement, it's not better than the original Omnia.

Based on this newer UI, there isn't a need for the mouse or d-pad, and based on our usage, it's not a feature that most users will miss.

  • nice review.. but keep it to one person at a time. The person at the back, interrupting all the time is annoying... and frankly redundant... more reviews thanks

  • well done on the preview but maybe u can put the phone on the table instead of holding it because im feeling dizzy watching u swaying it all over the place.

  • can windows mobile 6.5 display 16 million colours?

  • I believe it can, but we don't know if Omnia II with 6.5 will.

  • Hi! Thanks alot, it is really very good review.

I would like to ask a question. how do i go about switching the solitaire game to the landscape layout? i saw some youtube demonstrations, they press the "cube/camera" button at the right hand side of the hp but when i try it, not successful. it either switch to the cube function or the camera but not the landscape function. could u kindly tell me how?

  • I'm seriously considering this phone over HTC Touch HD cos apparently, now Omnia 2 is on offer with starhub, and HTC keeps on getting more and more expensive... used to be $268 with 2 yr plan... then $500+, then now its $700+... zzzz

  • Good review guys, look forward to your future gadget reviews. For viewers in the USA, there's a rumor this will be out for sale by BESTBUY under Verizon contracts on August 23, 2009. Again this is a rumor, not comfirmed yet. I hope it is true, I would like to trade in my Omnia i910 for this even though I'm sure Verizon will destroy it with their crapy software.

  • Great review guys do you have any info on when it will arrive in the UK?

  • Nope, sorry. We only have Singapore availability info.

  • How much is this?

  • It's S$498 with a 2-year contract in Singapore with Singtel.

  • omg. way over my price range.

  • nice vid!

  • What camera are you guys using to shoot your videos? it looks really great. One more thing, is that a scratch on the left hand side of the screen? Thanks, keep it up.

  • Quick question..

I said at the end that samsung has room to improve and solve the lag...

I wonder, cause Omnia II has good hardware, can they solve it with software upgrades?

  • Yes they could, actually. Hope they do...

  • Hi guys, nice review.

Can you make a comment on the screen visibility outdoors under bright conditions. I heard that the AMOLED-display gets hard to read, when it is bright. How does this compare to other phones (iPhone for example)? I know that under direct sunlight most phones have problems, but what if you block the sun by your body. Still problems to see the display? Thank you again for your review.

  • Hmmm... that's something we forgot to watch out for during out tests. One thing though, this video was filmed outdoors. Not under direct sunlight of course.

  • JUST FORGET ABOUT IT OK! It just sucks under direct sunlight, just like most other resistive screen. Go buy an iphone or much older PDA brick phones just for that.

  • hey guys wut do u guys prefer? omnia 2, jet or omnia hd?

  • The Samsung Jet isn't a smartphone, unlike the Omnia 2 and the Omnia HD (it's actually no longer called the Omnia HD, but the i8910HD). So I'd choose a smartphone cos you can do more things with it.

Between the Omnia II and the i8910HD, I'd choose the Omnia II, because the software on the Omnia II gives you a better experience as it's more optimised for touch compared to the software on the i8910HD.

  • it looks like Omnia JEt
