There was more segregation in the south due to the vast majority of blacks being in the south then and today.
If there are only fourteen thousand blacks in the entire state of Ohio what would be the point of makeing every city in the state have thourough segregation laws. Every city would have to have black schools, buisnesses, appartment blocks and it simply wasnt worth it up north due to the low black populations. Dont kid yourself that everyone was against segregation but the south
@firetooIs FUCK YOU!!!! GET OFF SOUTHERN VIDS!!!! we dont go on YOUR shit and berate it so FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@SlyFox70100YES YOU DO BITCH ASS HOE THATS WHY I COME AND ATTACK YOUR VIDEOS BECAUSE I LOVE WATCHING YOU STUPID REDNECKS GET MAD AND TRY TO ACT TOUGH AND SHIT BUT YOU CANT DO SHIT EXCEPT FUCK YOUR SISTER BITCH!
@SlyFox70100 TOUGH? LMFAO then why do you guys fight in groups when your againts a single person huh?! Because you know your gonna get your ass whooped easily so stfu and stop talking to me.
@firetooIs sounds more like you niggers to me. where I live we fight ONE ON ONE dumbshit, if you really lived here you would know. All niggers are is thugs, gangsters and cokeheads. see you in hell
is right the south has risen after the war and cotton did become king in the south and made a bunch of southerners rich again but in fear the federal goverment had japanese beatles released to eat all of the cotton to keep the south from becoming more powerful than the north. and in 6th grade history they told us they migrated from mexico and in 6th grade i was smart enough to know that was bullcrap. and the feds are still trying to ruin the south today
The southerners are proud of their racist heritage. They still hate Lincoln for what he did and are even more upset by the first African American president. Maybe things will change someday?
@imaStonesFan oo no trust me where im from in NH teh only republican northern state in the union we dont wana be like the south we wana be like our selfs
@Fletch8600 I could tell, as soon as I saw your bigoted, hateful, and horrible comment, that you had absolutely, in no way, shape, or form, any sort of true argument. People like you disgust me.
When did I dis the south in that last message? I didn't. Unless you refer to me calling you redneck, which is a term used against people in every corner of North America. Lemme tell you something wise guy, friggin' New Jersey has more country hicks than Louisiana, so don't get on me for calling you a redneck and think I'm being a bigot against the south.
And I like how you avoided the whole Fox media thing :) Nicely played.
@Fletch8600 let me tell you something that you dont know about your precious maryland. when the army of dixie came marching in with lee half of them loved the army of virginia and the other half did nothing, ok it wasnt a south vs. north it was a brother vs. brother get the fuck over yourself you northern elitist idiot From The Commonwealth of Massachuesettes
In all honesty, I respect your comment. You're absolutely right, it *was* brother versus brother, and too many historians, and the general public for sure, are veering from this fact. I do not *LOVE* Maryland, so please don't claim I do. I just am sick of all the 'Maryland is the south!' nonsense. As well, you're right too that half of them in Maryland were pro-confederacy. Same with Pennsylvania - about half of all military applicants coming from PA, were to the Confederates.
@Fletch8600 sorry f i cam off disrespectful i am not usually that way but ive been pissed off to the max from the ronpaulhatesblacks guy so i was a bit on the edge i actually feel quirte bad for syaing it that way. you are not an elitist and im tired of people saying the south suck oh the north sucks. whatever it wasnt south vs. north it was america vs. america there is nothing good about it. not even getting rid of slavery was worth the 600,000 lives and i wasnt saying your from mass but i am
Nothing at all to apologize for at all, debate is debate. But I think we're on the same page, really. Yes, America VS. America. The lost lives is a terrible thing from the war, but I personally think it had to happen. Racial bigotry had to cease, officially/politically, anyway. Actually, I never even saw your bit about Massachusetts! Oops.
Yeah, there certainly were better ways. The ball was in the north's court, though, once the secession started; I don't think those unhappy with the Union would have tried to sort things out any other way than *to* secede.
@Fletch8600 i agree the politicians wouldnt but the generals didnt want war. Lee and his staff hated war especially the war between americans and same goes with northern generals
Well then, if even the military officers of both factions didn't want war, there certainly could have been other ways. To me, it's obvious then that it was a politically started war.
@Fletch8600 Maryland sent lots of men to fight for the Army of Northern Virginia, as Maryland Regiments flying Maryland colors. And this southern f*ck will go anywhere he pleases. Have a day.
The south shall rise again? And do WHAT! Secede from the "evil union"? What will that accomplish but bring ruin and needless complication on our country. It will be hell to pay on infrastructure and the infighting would just cripple our country and put us in even more economic trouble. Further more, it'd be family against family AGAIN. It's like they don't even think about the consequences.
@Mahbu The south has risen! Don't you see that? That's the part YOU DON'T GET! The south rose out of the ashes, rebuilt and has become stronger than it was in 1861. The south has an explosion of industry, construction, tourism, etc. while the north has been in decline for decades. We have a rich tradition and pride in our past and people like you not only can't understand but don't want to understand. If you don't like it, you still can't do anything about it. GET OVER IT!
You seemed like a reasonable person at first and now you've fallen to madness. Great. Whatever. Leave your head up your ass and you have fun with that. Maybe thats the south rising to you, and it certainly is to me, but to these yokels? It isn't enough. The South has to secede again and needs to be recognized as, ahem "the bestest out there". That's what it's about. Not rebuilding or kinship but ego trips and "being right" and changing history to remove any fault.
@67forceman excuse me, i don't really understand the difference between the north and south :S can you explain to me why you guys make the difference between each other since the united states is one single country?
@Nasbayern We fought a civil war between the northern and southern states over the right to secede (withdraw) from the union of the United States. At the time of the war, there was no law against secession yet the northern states banded together to force the southern states to remain in the union. The southern states formed a confederacy and fought together in defense of their states' right to withdraw. The might of northern industry and manpower supplies was the deciding factor in union victory
@Nasbayern The descendants of the opposing armies have memorialized the deeds of their ancestors and we still have passionate views of the legitimacy of the southern states to secede. We also argue the current rights of states to make their laws instead of being forced by the federal govt. to enact or enforce laws we don't agree with. One current problem is the fed. govt. will not protect our border with mexico which allows millions of illegals and possibly terrorists to gain entry to the states
@67forceman Oh that sucks man, but you guys should march in the streets against the stupid federal government in order to protect the borders and since every state is almost independent you guys should gather (southern states) in order to make your own laws that suit people and culture in the south :S
@Nasbayern The fed. govt. has seized unto itself more power than it was originally provided to have by the founding fathers. There are two many conflicting opinions from the great melting pot to achieve what you suggest. The govt. does very well at keeping the people divided so they will not join together. Conquer and divide is a very well used concept in the federal govt.
@LetsNukeTheSouth Have fun when the south gets nuked? What kind of stupid remark is that? Bitch? I detect a decidedly antisocial personality disorder. Have you thought of seeking professional help for your anger issues?
@whatdouthink96 1) Prove it. 2) Wrong. The businesses that have stayed in the U.S. are continually packing up and moving into "Right to Work" states that have lower labor rates than the heavily unionized businesses in the north. That's a fact. 3) You obviously don't live in the modern south or you would know that blacks here are just as proud of being southern as the whites so your own ignorance shines forth in your "bomb your house" bullshit. and 4) You got one right. G'day to you as well.
@67forceman 1) The south relied on the North for it to make its textiles, and the North wouldve stopped trading. Also Europe had a big cotton explosion at the time, so they wouldve had no trade whatsoever.
2) I was born in Little Rock Arkansaws, and moved to Ohio because my dad was in the military. I've been to the south dozens of times, and the only real advanced cities are the really big ones like Tampa and Dallas. 3) You misread it, your tradition didnt help you much in the Civil war.
@whatdouthink96 Ok..here we go. 1) The south sold cotton to whomever wanted it, primarily european countries, didn't matter what the north bought or made 2) Your pedigree and assumptions don't mean a damn thing (still no facts to back up your claims) 3) your still a jackass with the " bomb your house " statement. 4) your still a jackass.
@67forceman Err, the strength of your argument started out good but then fell quickly. 1) was good. It made sense. 2) wasn't very good. Also am I supposed to record my whole life and show you what my experience in the south has been and what I've learned about it. 3) was pretty stupid seeing as you're think that you knew what I meant by it (I hate it when people do that) 4) was just completly senseless.
@67forceman I don't dislike southerners (almost my whole family is southern -.-), I just dislike what they did back in 1860 until the Civil Rights movement as a people (gov't, state, etc.)
@MrTubeKiller I don't recall the north owning slaves and filled with people that illegaly imported slaves against the law that was passed in 1808(?). If anything the only problem the north had was passing the tarrifs that hurt the southerners, but that's politics, and it's not like taxes are hurting people today while others are benifiting.
@whatdouthink96 What and? My point is dont group the south and segregation when there are still northern cities which are still segregated. Instead of saying you dislike what the south did from 1860 to the 1960s you should instead think about what the entire country did from 1776 to 1960 and in a few cities to this day. Assuming you really are bigoted against the south do to racism.
@TexianPride Lol yes, I'm obviously agaisnt the south, seeing as I was born there, been there dozens of times, and more than half my family lives there.
@whatdouthink96 Copied from your comment (I just dislike what they did back in 1860 until the Civil Rights movement as a people (gov't, state, etc.)) Copied from my comment
(Instead of saying you dislike what the south did from 1860 to the 1960s) I only said what you said about the south how you dislike what the souths actions, I never said you hate the south I said you considered the souths actions unrightous which in many ways it was but the south was not the only guitly party
@TexianPride Well I don't really care what they've done since then, but I really dislike what they did before. And a few cities in the North is not much compared to whole states being segergated. And beforehand, I didn't like how the whole country was racist/segergated, however you see it, against Native Americans and African Americans
@TexianPride Ah didn't mean you to take it like that. I said that I don't care what what they've done since then so that I'm not slammed as some southren hater
I´ve said it before on other vids the only REAL culture in U.S.A(except for native americans offcourse) is southern culture! There might be some other states with something similar in way of cultural identity but they are very few!
It's not even the whole South, 67. Not even a majority. It's these little dick shits who come in claiming to represent the whole south and giving the rest of the south a bad name because they're bitter. I want to pay homage to the brave souls of both sides but then these kids? They talk down to the North, they. . well, let's pick a few classics out.
"I hate The USA I hope this evil Union falls apart...."
You know what? I love the south. I really do. From Virginia to Mississippi to the great state of Louisiana. But, for fuck's sake, get over yourselves. You aren't the only "unique" place.
This. . idiotic belief that the South is special and unique while the rest is all generic and the same? It needs to end. As if California was anything like Washington. As if New York and Massachusetts were alike! As if Montana was like Michigan. They aren't. Believe me. But we're all part of the Union. All.
@Mahbu If you have a problem with us honoring our southern ancestors and making tribute to their sacrifice, why do you bother to come to these sites? Nobody is forcing you to believe anything and we don't really care if you want us to "get over it" or not. If you can't stand those of us with a view that the south is unique and special, piss off and go to the union tribute sites. Nobody is begging you to come to these sites and nobody here cares what you feel is special or not.
You miss the point entirely. I understand. You're so full of your self-righteousness that you think this is about "us vs them", "north vs south". "Union vs CSA". No. It's not about that. It's about reasonable respect. I like the south. Part of my family comes from there. I could very well be from there, too, not that you cared to investigate.
It's this contemptuous attitude that the South is somehow MORE special than everyone else And that we're all lucky to breath southern air.
@Mahbu I know how you must feel if you don't agree with most of the postings here, but you must remember these are southern tribute pages and you come here freely and don't like what you see. You don't have to even read the posts let alone respond to them. If you feel the south has a contemptuous attitude and feels special, what do you want to happen? The south lost the war, do you not want their descendants to even have pride in their sacrifice? Would you deny them even that comfort?
But it isn't about making tribute to their sacrifice. It's about who is right or who is wrong. It's about covering asses. There's a line from Gettysburg that I think sums it up. "We'd rather lose a war than admit that we were wrong".
I did come here for southern tribute, hoping for actual tribute. Not tinfoil conspiracy or lost cause bullshit. Instead I see ridiculous comments like "GOD is a southerner". Really? Even joking, it's a ridiculous when the south didn't even exist then.
@Mahbu I agree with you about the god is a southerner thing. That's pretty dumb but you must remember that anyone may post here good or bad. As for the part about us vs. them, some people will always feel that way on both sides of the arguement. The war may have ended but the fighting continues. The way I look at it, we may all disagree between each other but no outsiders can mess with northern or southerners and not have all of us turn on them. An example is 9/11. Didn't matter north or south.
People wonder why the country's so divided. It's because these dipshit kids born centuries after the fact hump this grand delusion of the old Confederacy. Why? Because their own lives are so pitiful and mediocre. Because they keep hearing that regurgitated bile about how the south shall RISE AGAIN even though they're all busy ranting on youtube in their comfy houses, wondering what they're going to do with their lives.
@sirroyc You want to be proud you're from the south fine. But don't live in ignorant bliss about its history, and I'm not just referring to slavery and Jim Crow. There was no "Trail of Tears" in the north.
Although I am definitely not into this whole "the South will rise again" thing, I do commend you on showing an accurate map of the Confederate states at 3:25. So many people get it wrong on Youtube videos that it is nauseating sometimes.
Well the slave trade was good shit for the African Americans living in US today. They now exist in the most wealthy and powerful nation in the world rather then hell(east africa). So quit your winging!
Armies of other states didn't invade the south. The Army of the United States constitutionally put down an insurrection by a minority intent on stealing territory belonging to the People of the US.
@TheBoberton Read Article VI paragraph three US Constitution, its illegal. Most of the southern states who succeeded were federal territories granted statehood by the US congress. Louisiana and Arkansas were purchased with federal money from France. Insurrection is prohibited by the US Constitution.
" The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States. "
Who? Lee, who resigned? Or Jackson, who resigned? Or maybe Davis, who (you guessed it!) resigned? These men resigned their posts before joining the Confederacy. They had no ties to the American government.
@TheBoberton The Declaration of Independence is not a legal document, and has no weight in law, if it did slavery would have been illegal. Only the US Constitution has weight in law.
@Eagle027 Again I disagree. There is that pesky document known as the bill of rights. March 4th, 1789, Amendment 10 states "Powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people". There was no power granted the United States to LEGALLY stop a state from withdrawing from the Union in the Constitution. It was illegally making war on sovereign states of the C.S.A.
@67forceman 10th Amendment says nothing about succeeding. CSA was insurrection which is forbidden by the US Constitution. Any territory within the borders of the United States belongs to the people of the US.
@Eagle027 And the constitution says nothing about secession being unlawful. Only after the war was over did that become a law. As for insurrection, the south sought to peaceably remove themselves from the union, which was not against the law, and the north refused to allow that. That is why Fort Sumter was not evacuated. It was to force the south to either accept the unacceptable, or fight. The United States govt. knew it had no legal right to hold them against their will, hence "insurrection".
@67forceman Fort Sumter was a Union fort located on Union Property legally purchased from SC. They had no right to order Union troops out of it. The question of secession is still argued today by legal experts some for some against what makes you think your legal knowledge is better then theirs? Yes the bill of rights where it says "all men are created equal" what a lie and you know it. It excluded blacks so based on that what makes you think the right to secede could not be challenged.
@686204 Yep, you're right about the legal experts arguing for and against. As for me and my humble opinion, apparently you feel that in this forum I have no right to offer it? It doesn't seem to apply to you though and your opinion. Apparently you feel that those of us that hold a differing opinion are not qualified to speak of legalities of secession in an informal forum. In all fairness, don't you feel that each of us here deserve to be heard out? Or just those like yours?
@67forceman My point was the bill of rights in conjustion with the declaration of independance in specific "all men are creted equal" was an out right lie sould have made myself more clear. You have every right to offer an opinion sorry if I came across in the wrong manner. You say there is nothing in the Constitution forbidding secession there is also nothing specificly stated in it that allows it either.
@686204 Jefferson, in drawing up the Constitution, was speaking to the fact that free white British and free white Americans were equal and deserved equal representation. In THOSE times, slavery was worldwide and had been since recorded time so it was not meant to be considered in the language of the work and the people of those times knew it. Also, black africans were not the only "slaves" in America. White slaves were known as "indentured servants". Their standing was but slightly improved.
@67forceman You see that's were we differ in opinion. Because slavery was a common fact back in those days does not make it right in my books. There is no mention of color in the statement "all men are created equal" If it did specify that it would not only be wrong but a lie. The people who drafted the Constitution and other prominent people knew it was wrong and avoided the issue in that document other than to address slaves as property. They very carefully left the word slavery out of it.
@686204 Jefferson, when writing the Constitution, was speaking to the fact that free white British and Americans were equal and deserved equal representation. Slavery was worldwide and had been since recorded time so it was not inferred to or considered at the time of his writings. The people of THOSE days knew to those whom he referred. The africans were not the only slaves either. White slaves were known as "indentured servants" and their position was but little more improved
@67forceman In my opinion where there is a disagreement between State and Federal governments it should be submitted to the Supreme Court for a final legal decision. That's what it was established for right. My view is the south said it was, the North said is wasn't the south before firing on Ft. Sumter and starting the war should have approached the Supreme Court for a decision. Having said that the North could have done the same thing I believe both were scared to do so in case they lost
@686204 Nice to be able to argue the points with someone who doesn't engage in namecalling and profanity. Refreshing in these posts. Let us agree to disagree on some points and I tip my hat to you and yours. For better or for worse, we are a united nation again and will all stand or fall together as such. May God shower us with his blessings and keep us from our enemies.
@67forceman Slavery was a black mark on the history of this country. Treating people like animals to enhance the wealth of a few white men. I know the Supreme Court does not have the authority to change a law however I believe if they had ruled on the issue of secession it would have given both sides food for thought before starting a war. All avenues must be explored before a leader takes his country to war and if he does then he should be put right in the front lines along with his troops
@67forceman I am against war and I feel based on the difference of opinion expressed by both sides there was a need for a legal pursuit to clarify it. The Constitution had a built in remedy for such matters the Supreme Court. This war was a result of greed on the part of both sides and resulted in the death of over 600,000 men and that is why I call it another example of "rich man's war and a poor man's fight".
@686204 . I agree with you from a contemporary viewpoint of going before the supreme court to argue points of law. The Supreme Court INTERPRETS law, it can't make law. There would have been no law to draw upon and thus no precedent. Who can say what might have been? The point really is moot now. Our nation stands ( for now anyway) and I feel God needed our nation strong and united to face the horrible regimes of the next century where again, the masses of the poor would make up the armies.
@67forceman Before starting the was by firing on Ft. Sumter the South could have prevented a war by taking the issue of secession to the Supreme Court. That's what it was there for disagreements between the State and Federal government. My feeling is as I have stated many times it was a Rich mans war and a poor mans fight that was totally unnecessary if both sides had agreed to that the issue to the supreme court. However, I have no doubt the South started it all be firing on Ft. Sumter.
@686204 Hey there, I read your responses and can see where a person with your viewpoint could make the assertion that the Bill of Rights is, as you state " a lie" However, if you feel that the Bill of Rights is a lie then the establishment of the United States, of which the Bill of Rights was a central part, is a lie as well and should never have existed to begin with. As for the supreme court, again, THERE WAS NO LAW AGAINST SECESSION, therefore no need for a suit.
@Eagle027 I disagree. The south legally seceded from the union state by state. There was no law forbidding secession until after the war. Hard to say that a minority was stealing land belonging to the U.S. That property was owned by the people who bought it with their blood during the revolution and passed to their heirs. S. Carolina was out of the union and ordered fort sumter evacuated by military forces of another country. Refusal brought on the battle and the war. It was an invasion.
@67forceman Only Georgia, Virginia ,South and North Carolina were colonies. The rest of the southern states were granted statehood by Congress. Louisiana and Arkansas held territory purchased by the Federal government.
@Eagle027 I agree with you on that fact, however the treasury of the United States that purchased the land was filled by the citizens of the lands they occupied, not to mention that the U.S. govt. SOLD the land off. The govt. continued to receive taxes on the land yearly, taxes on imports that came into ports that bordered oceans, and on trade with the natives which the United States cheated out of the land to start with. The govt. has now, nor never, produced any commodity, only law.
@rojdebod are you stuped? oklahoma is a southern state and it was claimed by the confederacy, back then oklahoma belonged to the native americans there were even natives who fought for the confederacy.
@123americangamer well you answered my question didnt ya? and to answer yours, no im not S-T-U-P-I-D. I asked because I LIVE IN OKLAHOMA. BORN AND RAISED. Oklahoma was a TERRITORY until 1907, and nobody was fighting for it. It was a dumpground for INDIANS. To this day we are still called 'the Bible Belt' and SOUTHWEST, lumped in with Arizona and New Mexico. Which brings me to my original question, WHEN DID WE BECOME CONSIDERED THE SOUTH?
@rojdebod sorry about calling you that it was a bad day lol but any way i live in oklahoma all my life to im here in my home town tulsa and iv always heard it been called a southern state even neo confederates ( like my self ) see it as a true southern state, plus the confederate flag is the flag of every southern state just cuz our star aint there does not mean that aint our flag
@rojdebod When white Sooners from the south moved in and took land that by treaty belonged to the Native People who were already there. Indian Territory was never suppose to be a state.
The US government considers it part of the south, and Oklahoma was indian territory during the war(Couldn't secede) but most people there sided with the South.
we will rise again if you think we are just a bunch of stupid counrty boys you will mess around and get you damn head handed to around here son......

Lemme tell you something wise guy, friggin' New Jersey has more country hicks than Louisiana, so don't get on me for calling you a redneck and think I'm being a bigot against the south.
And I like how you avoided the whole Fox media thing :) Nicely played.

@Fletch8600 let me tell you something that you dont know about your precious maryland. when the army of dixie came marching in with lee half of them loved the army of virginia and the other half did nothing, ok it wasnt a south vs. north it was a brother vs. brother get the fuck over yourself you northern elitist idiot From The Commonwealth of Massachuesettes
libertarian93 11 months ago
In all honesty, I respect your comment. You're absolutely right, it *was* brother versus brother, and too many historians, and the general public for sure, are veering from this fact. I do not *LOVE* Maryland, so please don't claim I do. I just am sick of all the 'Maryland is the south!' nonsense. As well, you're right too that half of them in Maryland were pro-confederacy. Same with Pennsylvania - about half of all military applicants coming from PA, were to the Confederates.
Fletch8600 11 months ago
@Fletch8600 sorry f i cam off disrespectful i am not usually that way but ive been pissed off to the max from the ronpaulhatesblacks guy so i was a bit on the edge i actually feel quirte bad for syaing it that way. you are not an elitist and im tired of people saying the south suck oh the north sucks. whatever it wasnt south vs. north it was america vs. america there is nothing good about it. not even getting rid of slavery was worth the 600,000 lives and i wasnt saying your from mass but i am
libertarian93 11 months ago
Nothing at all to apologize for at all, debate is debate. But I think we're on the same page, really. Yes, America VS. America. The lost lives is a terrible thing from the war, but I personally think it had to happen. Racial bigotry had to cease, officially/politically, anyway. Actually, I never even saw your bit about Massachusetts! Oops.
Fletch8600 11 months ago
@Fletch8600 i agree it had to cease but there were much better ways than session from the union or declaring war on the south
libertarian93 11 months ago
Yeah, there certainly were better ways. The ball was in the north's court, though, once the secession started; I don't think those unhappy with the Union would have tried to sort things out any other way than *to* secede.
Fletch8600 11 months ago
@Fletch8600 i agree the politicians wouldnt but the generals didnt want war. Lee and his staff hated war especially the war between americans and same goes with northern generals
libertarian93 11 months ago
Well then, if even the military officers of both factions didn't want war, there certainly could have been other ways. To me, it's obvious then that it was a politically started war.
Fletch8600 11 months ago

The south shall rise again? And do WHAT! Secede from the "evil union"? What will that accomplish but bring ruin and needless complication on our country. It will be hell to pay on infrastructure and the infighting would just cripple our country and put us in even more economic trouble. Further more, it'd be family against family AGAIN. It's like they don't even think about the consequences.
Mahbu 11 months ago
@Mahbu The south has risen! Don't you see that? That's the part YOU DON'T GET! The south rose out of the ashes, rebuilt and has become stronger than it was in 1861. The south has an explosion of industry, construction, tourism, etc. while the north has been in decline for decades. We have a rich tradition and pride in our past and people like you not only can't understand but don't want to understand. If you don't like it, you still can't do anything about it. GET OVER IT!
67forceman 11 months ago 16
@67forceman
Mahbu 11 months ago
@67forceman excuse me, i don't really understand the difference between the north and south :S can you explain to me why you guys make the difference between each other since the united states is one single country?
Nasbayern 8 months ago
@Nasbayern We fought a civil war between the northern and southern states over the right to secede (withdraw) from the union of the United States. At the time of the war, there was no law against secession yet the northern states banded together to force the southern states to remain in the union. The southern states formed a confederacy and fought together in defense of their states' right to withdraw. The might of northern industry and manpower supplies was the deciding factor in union victory
67forceman 8 months ago
@Nasbayern The descendants of the opposing armies have memorialized the deeds of their ancestors and we still have passionate views of the legitimacy of the southern states to secede. We also argue the current rights of states to make their laws instead of being forced by the federal govt. to enact or enforce laws we don't agree with. One current problem is the fed. govt. will not protect our border with mexico which allows millions of illegals and possibly terrorists to gain entry to the states
67forceman 8 months ago
@67forceman Oh that sucks man, but you guys should march in the streets against the stupid federal government in order to protect the borders and since every state is almost independent you guys should gather (southern states) in order to make your own laws that suit people and culture in the south :S
Nasbayern 8 months ago
@Nasbayern The fed. govt. has seized unto itself more power than it was originally provided to have by the founding fathers. There are two many conflicting opinions from the great melting pot to achieve what you suggest. The govt. does very well at keeping the people divided so they will not join together. Conquer and divide is a very well used concept in the federal govt.

67forceman 8 months ago
@67forceman uhhh....Okay...
1) The south would've calapsed within ten years if they won the war, so being stronger isnt saying much.
2) An Explosion of Industry in the south isn't saying as much because they don't have as much as the north.
3) Rich tradition in a way of life that's racist won't stop a bomb from landing on your house.
4) The only thing I'll give you guys is tourism and construction. The south has built a fair few places that attract many visitors.
G'day to you
whatdouthink96 8 months ago
@whatdouthink96 1) Prove it. 2) Wrong. The businesses that have stayed in the U.S. are continually packing up and moving into "Right to Work" states that have lower labor rates than the heavily unionized businesses in the north. That's a fact. 3) You obviously don't live in the modern south or you would know that blacks here are just as proud of being southern as the whites so your own ignorance shines forth in your "bomb your house" bullshit. and 4) You got one right. G'day to you as well.
67forceman 8 months ago
@67forceman 1) The south relied on the North for it to make its textiles, and the North wouldve stopped trading. Also Europe had a big cotton explosion at the time, so they wouldve had no trade whatsoever.
2) I was born in Little Rock Arkansaws, and moved to Ohio because my dad was in the military. I've been to the south dozens of times, and the only real advanced cities are the really big ones like Tampa and Dallas. 3) You misread it, your tradition didnt help you much in the Civil war.
whatdouthink96 8 months ago
@whatdouthink96 So you're saying....what? That urban development is what counts for an advanced civilization?
Cionaodh57 7 months ago
@Cionaodh57 Either that or a city that's connected to a large city. Advanced cities don't just spring up out of nowhere.
whatdouthink96 7 months ago
@whatdouthink96 Ok..here we go. 1) The south sold cotton to whomever wanted it, primarily european countries, didn't matter what the north bought or made 2) Your pedigree and assumptions don't mean a damn thing (still no facts to back up your claims) 3) your still a jackass with the " bomb your house " statement. 4) your still a jackass.
67forceman 7 months ago
@67forceman Err, the strength of your argument started out good but then fell quickly. 1) was good. It made sense. 2) wasn't very good. Also am I supposed to record my whole life and show you what my experience in the south has been and what I've learned about it. 3) was pretty stupid seeing as you're think that you knew what I meant by it (I hate it when people do that) 4) was just completly senseless.
whatdouthink96 7 months ago

MrTubeKiller 7 months ago
@MrTubeKiller I don't recall the north owning slaves and filled with people that illegaly imported slaves against the law that was passed in 1808(?). Assuming you really are bigoted against the south do to racism.

TexianPride 6 months ago
@TexianPride Well I don't really care what they've done since then, but I really dislike what they did before. And a few cities in the North is not much compared to whole states being segergated.
All.
Mahbu 1 year ago
@Mahbu If you have a problem with us honoring our southern ancestors and making tribute to their sacrifice, why do you bother to come to these sites? Nobody is forcing you to believe anything and we don't really care if you want us to "get over it" or not. If you can't stand those of us with a view that the south is unique and special, piss off and go to the union tribute sites. Nobody is begging you to come to these sites and nobody here cares what you feel is special or not.
67forceman 1 year ago
@67forceman
Mahbu 1 year ago
@Mahbu I know how you must feel if you don't agree with most of the postings here, but you must remember these are southern tribute pages and you come here freely and don't like what you see. You don't have to even read the posts let alone respond to them. If you feel the south has a contemptuous attitude and feels special, what do you want to happen? The south lost the war, do you not want their descendants to even have pride in their sacrifice? Would you deny them even that comfort?
67forceman 11 months ago
@67forceman
Mahbu 1 year ago
@Mahbu I agree with you about the god is a southerner thing. That's pretty dumb but you must remember that anyone may post here good or bad. As for the part about us vs. them, some people will always feel that way on both sides of the arguement. The war may have ended but the fighting continues. The way I look at it, we may all disagree between each other but no outsiders can mess with northern or southerners and not have all of us turn on them. An example is 9/11. Didn't matter north or south.
67forceman 11 months ago

Armies of other states didn't invade the south. The Army of the United States constitutionally put down an insurrection by a minority intent on stealing territory belonging to the People of the US.
Eagle027 1 year ago
@Eagle027
Really? Had they been doing that, then they wouldn't have burned Georgia to the ground. It WAS an invasion into a country that LEGALLY seceded.
TheBoberton 1 year ago
@TheBoberton Read Article VI paragraph three US Constitution, its illegal. Most of the southern states who succeeded were federal territories granted statehood by the US congress. Louisiana and Arkansas were purchased with federal money from France. Insurrection is prohibited by the US Constitution.

@Eagle027
Or are you speaking of the states themselves? In which case I say:
States have the right to secede, guaranteed by the Declaration of Independence.
TheBoberton 1 year ago
@TheBoberton The Declaration of Independence is not a legal document, and has no weight in law, if it did slavery would have been illegal. Only the US Constitution has weight in law.
Eagle027 1 year ago
@Eagle027 Again I disagree. There is that pesky document known as the bill of rights. March 4th, 1789, Amendment 10 states "Powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people". There was no power granted the United States to LEGALLY stop a state from withdrawing from the Union in the Constitution. It was illegally making war on sovereign states of the C.S.A.
67forceman 1 year ago
@67forceman 10th Amendment says nothing about succeeding. CSA was insurrection which is forbidden by the US Constitution. Any territory within the borders of the United States belongs to the people of the US.
Eagle027 1 year ago
@Eagle027 And the constitution says nothing about secession being unlawful. Only after the war was over did that become a law. As for insurrection, the south sought to peaceably remove themselves from the union, which was not against the law, and the north refused to allow that. That is why Fort Sumter was not evacuated. It was to force the south to either accept the unacceptable, or fight. The United States govt. knew it had no legal right to hold them against their will, hence "insurrection".
67forceman 1 year ago
@67forceman Fort Sumpter was built by the US government and was the property of the people of the United States. end of argument
Eagle027 1 year ago
@67forceman Fort Sumter was a Union fort located on Union Property legally purchased from SC. They had no right to order Union troops out of it. The question of secession is still argued today by legal experts some for some against what makes you think your legal knowledge is better then theirs? Yes the bill of rights where it says "all men are created equal" what a lie and you know it. It excluded blacks so based on that what makes you think the right to secede could not be challenged.
686204 1 year ago
@686204 Yep, you're right about the legal experts arguing for and against. As for me and my humble opinion, apparently you feel that in this forum I have no right to offer it? It doesn't seem to apply to you though and your opinion. Apparently you feel that those of us that hold a differing opinion are not qualified to speak of legalities of secession in an informal forum. In all fairness, don't you feel that each of us here deserve to be heard out? Or just those like yours?
67forceman 1 year ago
@67forceman My point was the bill of rights in conjustion with the declaration of independance in specific "all men are creted equal" was an out right lie sould have made myself more clear. You have every right to offer an opinion sorry if I came across in the wrong manner. You say there is nothing in the Constitution forbidding secession there is also nothing specificly stated in it that allows it either.
686204 1 year ago
@686204 Jefferson, in drawing up the Constitution, was speaking to the fact that free white British and free white Americans were equal and deserved equal representation. In THOSE times, slavery was worldwide and had been since recorded time so it was not meant to be considered in the language of the work and the people of those times knew it. Also, black africans were not the only "slaves" in America. White slaves were known as "indentured servants". Their standing was but slightly improved.
67forceman 1 year ago
@67forceman You see that's were we differ in opinion. Because slavery was a common fact back in those days does not make it right in my books. There is no mention of color in the statement "all men are created equal" If it did specify that it would not only be wrong but a lie. The people who drafted the Constitution and other prominent people knew it was wrong and avoided the issue in that document other than to address slaves as property. They very carefully left the word slavery out of it.

Eagle027 1 year ago
@Eagle027 I agree with you on that fact, however the treasury of the United States that purchased the land was filled by the citizens of the lands they occupied, not to mention that the U.S. govt. SOLD the land off. The govt. continued to receive taxes on the land yearly, taxes on imports that came into ports that bordered oceans, and on trade with the natives which the United States cheated out of the land to start with. The govt. has now, nor never, produced any commodity, only law.

@67forceman The territory belonged to the people of the US, period. When you purchase land in this country, you don't become your own country.

When in the HELL did Oklahoma start being considered 'the South'?
rojdebod 1 year ago

Which brings me to my original question, WHEN DID WE BECOME CONSIDERED THE SOUTH?
rojdebod 1 year ago
@rojdebod sorry about calling you that it was a bad day lol but any way i live in oklahoma all my life to im here in my home town tulsa and iv always heard it been called a southern state even neo confederates ( like my self ) see it as a true southern state, plus the confederate flag is the flag of every southern state just cuz our star aint there does not mean that aint our flag
123americangamer 1 year ago
@rojdebod When white Sooners from the south moved in and took land that by treaty belonged to the Native People who were already there. Indian Territory was never suppose to be a state.
Eagle027 1 year ago
@rojdebod
The US government considers it part of the south, and Oklahoma was indian territory during the war(Couldn't secede) but most people there sided with the South.
