Of course you can bend notes on a diatonic harp, but on a chromatic one you have to press the button to have flat notes and on the video it seems like you don't, anyway no matter the way you do, the important is the the result, and yours is excellent.

He is probably playing a Hohner 'XB40' harmonica . All of it;s notes bend, even the blow notes so it is virtually a chromatic with no lever.
