I am happy I did this way back when. I can't do as many as I did at the end of my journey but today I can do 20 without much struggle which is far more than I could do in the past.
I have a 40 lbs vest. I call it my gut. ;-) I'm not trying to get my forearms in better shape and have started to do diamond push-ups. They suck. I feel like I did back 2 years ago when I shot this video. It must mean I'm doing something of value, right? (crickets, crickets)
It helps to do lots of pull-downs at the gym, bent over rows help too. I read on a website that it also helps to jump & hold yourself up for as long as you could and try to lower yourself slowly. Good luck! Feels good to see yourself get stronger
You sound like Solid Snake (david hayter) from Metal Gear Solid lol
And for ur comment about pull ups. I find pull ups to be easy now. I started off like you though. Barely being able to do 2 and now I can do 15 easily & about 5-7 with a 40lb vest on.
I have added push-ups to my regular workout routine. I do about 10-20 depending on where in the work out I am. It feels good to be able to do them in the middle of lifting weights and after hitting the exercise bike for 25 minutes. I'm definitely tired!
Next goal is learn how to do a pull up. I still can't get even one! I'll video tape that shame later.
@nonoboys start out with 20 push ups and do 2 reps. then rest or work something else out on the next day. and the day after that add 5 more push ups to your reps. basically only do them every other day and do like 20-20 the first time, 25-25 the second, 30-30 the next, etc. i know it sounds hard but just adding those few each time will help you push harder to reach them. i started doing that a few weeks ago and now im doing 2 reps of 75
@punktheman I was able to hit 100 but not without a break. Now I can do 20-25 without much effort but more than that I get crazy head aches. Likely, it's my breathing.
@nonoboys the head ache thing happened to me as well.It ussualy happened when I was using too much force, pretty much in the final reps or If did not take enough water during the day before doing push ups.

I try to do 20 push-ups everyday. I've done about 60 all year. So I need to be a little better at that.
nonoboys 1 year ago
are you suppose to do this everyday?

I'm also following the 100 push ups program. Now at the end of week 4 I'm suffering. I did skip a few weeks though.
I hope you stick with it, I will.
And remember it's all about the journey :) it'll do good no matter the outcome.

It felt bad, but I am happy to have started. Posting it on Facebook and my blog will hopefully force me to see this though to the end.
