" the ROLLING STONES are the most dangerous band on the planet" and from a U.S. President you dont get better publicity than that silly grey suits ha lololololol
ALL other bands never created this style, so cheerful.
"The Song Remains the Same" many English say it was the best that gave the rock .... I prefer "Lets Spend The Night Togheter" (Laughter, Joy, Power, Drugs, Sex, and Rock And Roll pure)
Over the course of their career, the Stones never really abandoned blues, but as soon as they reached popularity in the U.K., they began experimenting musically, incorporating the British pop of contemporaries like the Beatles, Kinks, and Who into their sound.
hey guys, if you have a spare minute could you check out some of my guitar-work on my channel, it would be really appreciated. It sucks to advertise like this but it seems like the only way to get exposure. Thanks if you do check them out :)
You guys talking about Joe Jagger, I heard or read somewhere that he was going to coach the UK national basketball team back in the day because he was the only Englishman who knew anything about the game of basketball.
The Stones had three separate eras. Jones, Taylor, and Wood. They're all based around rock 'n roll but Jones' had a art-pop edge, Taylor's was the dirty scuzzy blues shade, and Wood's was the funky r&b groove. They're all great and their music naturally evolved. Don't bicker about it. Enjoy it!
this is raw, and the raw sounds right. when the Stones fuck around, this is what they sound like. i know. i was there. detroit you love seafood and Pontiac pizza. Yeah, I know..
Nobody has a greater track record, great song, great lyrics, i disagree withgina97 the 70s was their best period when they made their greatest album ( exile on maine street)
@curvy71 I must correct you,Joan Jett did not write "I Love Rock 'n' Roll".That song was originally recorded and released by The Arrows in1975.Joan Jett, who saw the performance of The Arrows in a TV show when she was on tour with The Runaways, made her first version of this song in1979.This first version was not a success. In 1982,Jett re-recorded the song with The Blackhearts.Perhaps,The Arrows wrote their song inspired by "It's only rock n roll"(which dates from1974)but no Joan Jett.
@Gina97xls Know what? The times changed. As great as Taylor is, Ron wood is also a great guitarist. But the Stones left the late 60's early 70's guitar solo style behind when Wood joined. Listen to Wood with the Faces or when he was with Jeff Beck. Ron Wood also has loads of personality, a great sense of humour and an unassuming human being. Read his book or interviews or better yet watch him on you tube's Ron Wood on Top Fuel. Careful though his natural sense of humour is addictive.
@JoshSwartzberg Don't get me wrong... I am a fan of Ron... have followed him for a long time in fact. I was just giving credit to an underappreciated guitarist that Mick Taylor was and where he brought the Stones... I discovered the RS when Ron Wood was their lead... so he had to have been doing something right...
@Gina97xls The irony of all these comments is that Ron Wood actually played all the guitar for "Only Rock'n Roll". neither Mick Taylor, Keith or even Charlie were in the studio when the original track was recorded. Jagger, Wood and Kenny Jones, Faces drummer recorded this track before Wood became a Stone. The last track Taylor recorded with them, rumour has it, was his Santana style solo on "Time waits for no one". If you listen to that track knowing this it adds to the sadness of the song.
@TheZlagler uh Dumbass... you need to follow the conversation... I'm not talking about Jagger... I'm talking about MICK TAYLOR the LEAD GUITARIST who was replaced by RON WOOD! dork...
Wood is a much better guitarist than Taylor. Ronnie was one of the most famous, and respected guitarists in the world, even before he joined the Stones. He was very much on a par with Keith Richards.
You know, Taylor had a nice sound, but was never on a par with Richards. It was only when he met his equal, in Wood, that they really blended their sound and started sharing duties on records
Keith played EVERYTHING when Taylor was in the band. He was just used in live show
@fumetti Are you sure?I'm possitive I saw it on MTV a few years back.Roger Daltry's dad was a toilet salesman. My dad ran a sewer plant, which is why I have a crappy disposition!AAHHHH HA HA HA HA!
@fumetti I always thought Mick's dad was a phys ed teacher as well (he wouldn't let young Michael go out until he'd done his daily calisthenics) but recently I heard that Mr. Jagger was actually a history teacher. It would be interesting to know the real deal.
@JaysGOP Yeah Brazil hates Mick? That's why 1million of them showed up at the Copacabana beach for a concert a few years back. But Mick did have a jinx factor, last world cup, every team he went to support lost. Even he began to think that he was bad luck and made no comment about who he liked in the final, although it was secretly Spain.
Ah, the good ol' days of the Stones when Keith and Mick Taylor (and later Ronnie Wood) sang backup. Gawd, I wish I grew up in this era of the Stones instead of the current era of female backup singers and Darryl Jones on Bass. *Shudders*
