The record business fucking sucks. People think it's all about glamour and big money, but the majority of people working on this stuff don't get paid much at all. A lot of my songs that got published I didn't get paid for at all and when they actually do pay you, it's not what you'd think. You might get 2 or 3 grand for lyrics to a hit song, if you're lucky.
