I dont think anyone caught this. This is not a very, very recent video. It is 4 months old. It was done Sept 2011. Her hair could be longer, but it isnt and that is a personal choice on her end.

I've watched her vids when she started and she used to want longer hair. I believe her hair grows but doesn't retain length bc of the way she treats her hair. JMO.

@4066jks I love her short hair , however two years ago I remember watching her video with my mother who had shaved her head. Now my mother in her sixties has the same length hair.
I understand her wig tutorials and make up but the regimen does not make sense without mentioning what the objective of her regimen is - with everyone else it is clear, but there is no objective to what she hopes to achieve by her methodology

@MsMrReason I've been watching Ateya for 4 years. Because of watching he,r I learned about the aphogee two step protein treatment and other products from this line. I still incorporate these products in my regimine to this day because they work and my hair has grown out beautifully. But, I will admit that Ateya's hair should have been much longer than this. It honestly should have been waist length 2 years ago but I think the heat and the relaxers are the problem.
@MsMrReason I'm not trying to knock relaxed chicks but if they would go natural, they would have waist length hair in no time. Natural really is the way to go. I see these girls who are relaxed and they all have good hair regimines but they can't grow length because of the chemicals they put in their hair. Yeah, their hair might look good but it's not growing. But, I've been noticing that a lot of these relaxed hair gurus on youtube are starting to realize natural hair is better.
@CrownJewel32 I actually agree with you totally - relaxing becomes another factor in hair maintenance which no matter what people think they cannot completely control the outcome as it is a chemical process.
When I was at school which was predominantly white - the white girls with the longest hair wore their natural hair in a pony tail or plait.
The ones bleaching, perming. colouring and teasing could never maintain much length - bra strap at the most. Black hair is just the same.
@MsMrReason You are so right! That's why a lot of white women, now-a-days, are looking for moisturizing shampoo and conitioners. And, that's why this whole sulfate free shampoo thing is really popular with white hair care brands. It's because they are bleaching and dyeing their hair to death and on top of that, they are using curling irons and flat irons. That's the same reason why black women can't retain length-----because of all the chemicals and heat. CONT.
@CrownJewel32 I am not sure if Ateyaaa wants to have longer hair than this- many say she doesn't and likes it short , but the length of her wigs suggests she likes long hair.
With her regimen this will never happen as she is also quite brutal with her hair, which will not bode well when she reaches middle age and the follicles naturally start to weaken.

@CrownJewel32 it all depends on preference, I'm relaxed and I have almost bra strap length hair, natural or not, your hair grows regardless, it all depends on how you care for it. I see alot of natural hair girls with short hair n some with long, same with relaxed girls. I don't generalize cuz nothing ever applies to everyone.
@XmzlovelystarX I'm sure that most naturals you've seen with short hair have only been natural for a year or less. But, most relaxed women I've seen can't get their hair to grow to waist length. And, the one's who have achieved waist length hair, have to stretch relaxers for months so basically they have to almost go natural to retain length. I don't knock people for perming their hair but in my opinion, natural hair is better.

I am not saying you were promoting long hair over healthy hair, but I know you are aware that many of your viewers were watching you go through your journey and buying these products because they were being convinced they worked. And lets face most people watched to grow their own hair. So when you show up after 2 years and your hair has regressed in length (however not in health) people begin to wonder and consequently question their viewership of your blog.
Ateya I have been watching your videos for a while and you have been doing them for about 2 years now and I have noticed that when your hair was growing you were really feeling it and bragging about it (not in a bad way). However, you show up and your hair is much shorter than before. There was no video that spoke to the update on your new hair length at all. I think that the viewers especially myself would like to know what happened.
Why r some of u guys upset that her hair is seemingly not growing. If u have been watching u would see it has gone thru various mid length styles to just past her shoulder. For many of the length of the hair doesnt matter. My hair is ever between Halle Berry short like my Mom's and neck length. Grew it bra strap length for my wedding, husband likes it long I dont. As my stylist say "who has it just dont want it." That's me! 2 relaxers and my stylist is like just dont cut it, but snip, snip.

I have not been following Ateya, and I'm not subscribed to her either...BUT I do watch her videos from time to time and I can clearly see that her hair is thicker, and healthier...and also that she prefers the length she is currently at.....if her hair was not growing it wouldn't look like it does because that would mean she is relaxing the same hair repeatedly...over processed hair does not look like this!! @MrDerelle. IKR, I just recently cut all my hair off and did the BIG chop. My hair was so unhealthy before, but all I cared about was the length and not being bald head. I thought short hair would make me look like a man. However, I wish I would have done this years ago...I love my hair the way it is now, and all I care about is its health. Many blessings to you!!!
People are saying your hair isn't growing but obviously it is because you still relax your NEW GROWTH and obviously you got a hair cut, which looks fabulous btw. People also complain about the way you comb through YOUR hair but obviously it's not a big issue because you always get little to no hairs in the comb. I detangle my hair gently in sections and get more hair left in my comb than you, so you're good. Stay blessed hun.
In my personal opinion I prefer health over length but if a person hair isn't growing something is def wrong . We can stunt our hair growth . It doesn't matter if your a professional are just educated . There are numerous of things you can be doing wrong There is something called "Cosmetically Beauty " I see a lot of that .

I know that after following the whole stretching and aphogee regimens. but hair is good so whatever length love your hair and take care of your hair whatever best works for YOU :-)

I think Ateyaa uses too much heat on her hair.If you can stay away from the heat, a suave conditioner and shampoo and occasional deep conditioning and protein treatment,you will see growth and length in your hair.I am on my journey.
Tc24k your hair could be breaking because it's protein sensitive like mines. All you have to do is just do a protein treatment once a month let it stay in for about 10 minutes tops. Follow up with a moisture based conditioner. Also incorporate a moisture shampoo and conditioner regiment. Find which ever moisture conditioner and shampoo works for you. Aphogee might not work for you. You have to find a regiment that works for your own hair texture. Also add a deep conditioner to your regiment. Ad
I honestly don't see what people mean when they say Ateya's hair isn't growing. I've seen several videos where her hair has been longer than it is now. She doesn't give very many back of head shots which is how most people show their "growth progress". Perhaps that's where the "proof of growth" lies. When I first started watching your videos I acquired your Aphogee regimen. I bought every product that you had. I wrapped my hair every night as well with my silk scarf ,my hair was at my shoulders. For some reason my hair started shedding and breaking daily. I do not know why my hair reacted that way, Maybe the Aphogee products were to strong for my hair or maybe it was my perm. I have not had a perm since Oct 2010. I think this regimen looks gentler for the hair. Suggestions anyone.

Ateya is the best! Ateya's hair was longer than now, but it's because she got it cut. You can clearly see that she cut it shoulder length and it's not about the inches it's about the health of your hair.

@holmesc1 well for yrs i thought i couldnt grow my hair pass neck length n after watchin utube for a yr now n yes wit the help of ateyaa's aphogee regimen, my hair has taken of by cuttin down on heat, moisturisin n sealin n keepin my ends protected as well as GENTLE COMBIN. i havnt worn weaves for a yr now. i wear my own DIY full stockin cap wigs now n again n i cant believe the length i hav now just 2" from apl n am relaxed. so care for those ends n u shall b rewarded

I kinda get what some of the commenters are talking about as far as Ateya's hair being alot shorter. But maybe she had it cut and decided to not make a video about it this time. I understand her wig tutorials and make up but the regimen does not make sense without mentioning what the objective of her regimen is - with everyone else it is clear, but there is no objective to what she hopes to achieve by her methodology

@MsMrReason I've been watching Ateya for 4 years. Because of watching he,r I learned about the aphogee two step protein treatment and other products from this line. I still incorporate these products in my regimine to this day because they work and my hair has grown out beautifully. But, I will admit that Ateya's hair should have been much longer than this. It honestly should have been waist length 2 years ago but I think the heat and the relaxers are the problem.

@MsMrReason I'm not trying to knock relaxed chicks but if they would go natural, they would have waist length hair in no time. Natural really is the way to go. I see these girls who are relaxed and they all have good hair regimines but they can't grow length because of the chemicals they put in their hair. Yeah, their hair might look good but it's not growing. But, I've been noticing that a lot of these relaxed hair gurus on youtube are starting to realize natural hair is better.

@CrownJewel32 I actually agree with you totally - relaxing becomes another factor in hair maintenance which no matter what people think they cannot completely control the outcome as it is a chemical process.
When I was at school which was predominantly white - the white girls with the longest hair wore their natural hair in a pony tail or plait.
The ones bleaching, perming. colouring and teasing could never maintain much length - bra strap at the most. Black hair is just the same.

And, that's why this whole sulfate free shampoo thing is really popular with white hair care brands. It's because they are bleaching and dyeing their hair to death and on top of that, they are using curling irons and flat irons. That's the same reason why black women can't retain length-----because of all the chemicals and heat. CONT.

@CrownJewel32 I am not sure if Ateyaaa wants to have longer hair than this- many say she doesn't and likes it short , but the length of her wigs suggests she likes long hair.
With her regimen this will never happen as she is also quite brutal with her hair, which will not bode well when she reaches middle age and the follicles naturally start to weaken.
Living among white women who are rarely natural I think black women should have the same freedom, as long as they know the consequences

I see alot of natural hair girls with short hair n some with long, same with relaxed girls. I don't generalize cuz nothing ever applies to everyone.

@XmzlovelystarX I'm sure that most naturals you've seen with short hair have only been natural for a year or less. But, most relaxed women I've seen can't get their hair to grow to waist length. And, the one's who have achieved waist length hair, have to stretch relaxers for months so basically they have to almost go natural to retain length. I don't knock people for perming their hair but in my opinion, natural hair is better.

And lets face most people watched to grow their own hair. Why r some of u guys upset that her hair is seemingly not growing. If u have been watching u would see it has gone thru various mid length styles to just past her shoulder. For many of the length of the hair doesnt matter. My hair is ever between Halle Berry short like my Mom's and neck length. Grew it bra strap length for my wedding, husband likes it long I dont. As my stylist say "who has it just dont want it." That's me! 2 relaxers and my stylist is like just dont cut it, but snip, snip.

I have not been following Ateya, and I'm not subscribed to her either...BUT I do watch her videos from time to time and I can clearly see that her hair is thicker, and healthier...and also that she prefers the length she is currently at.....if her hair was not growing it wouldn't look like it does because that would mean she is relaxing the same hair repeatedly...over processed hair does not look like this!! People are saying your hair isn't growing but obviously it is because you still relax your NEW GROWTH and obviously you got a hair cut, which looks fabulous btw. People also complain about the way you comb through YOUR hair but obviously it's not a big issue because you always get little to no hairs in the comb. I detangle my hair gently in sections and get more hair left in my comb than you, so you're good. Stay blessed hun.

@Soranita i don't think Ateyaa is trying to grow long hair. My lil sis started watching black hair care videos on youtube starting with Ateyaa.She started nape length hair,today(2yrs later) she has up to bra strap length. she even lost lots hair from tangling.
I think Ateyaa uses too much heat on her hair.If you can stay away from the heat, a suave conditioner and shampoo and occasional deep conditioning and protein treatment,you will see growth and length in your hair.I am on my journey.

Tc24k your hair could be breaking because it's protein sensitive like mines. All you have to do is just do a protein treatment once a month let it stay in for about 10 minutes tops. Follow up with a moisture based conditioner. Also incorporate a moisture shampoo and conditioner regiment. Find which ever moisture conditioner and shampoo works for you. Aphogee might not work for you. You have to find a regiment that works for your own hair texture. Also add a deep conditioner to your regiment. Ad

I honestly don't see what people mean when they say Ateya's hair isn't growing. I've seen several videos where her hair has been longer than it is now. She doesn't give very many back of head shots which is how most people show their "growth progress". Perhaps that's where the "proof of growth" lies. When I first started watching your videos I acquired your Aphogee regimen. I bought every product that you had. I wrapped my hair every night as well with my silk scarf ,my hair was at my shoulders. For some reason my hair started shedding and breaking daily. I do not know why my hair reacted that way, Maybe the Aphogee products were to strong for my hair or maybe it was my perm. I have not had a perm since Oct 2010. I think this regimen looks gentler for the hair. Suggestions anyone.

ur hair is in such good condition...and its healthy! never use heat and do all the right things, my daddys white but my hair has a wirey texture lol my mum on the other hand has really coilly, curly soft too touch hair.... i think im jus lazy and all i do is moisterize mine and tie it up... ur an inspiration Ateya i want my hair like that! lol

Ateya is the best! Ateya's hair was longer than now, but it's because she got it cut. You can clearly see that she cut it shoulder length and it's not about the inches it's about the health of your hair.

@RosefromPittsburgh i believe ateyaaa wants long hair...lets examine why: she wears sew in with inches ranging from 14-16, she wears wigs with the lengths raning from 14-16...this too me sounds like girlfriend wants her hair longer!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that her hair is healthy....but i dont thnk for a second it is because all she does is flat iron and blowdry her hair....heat+hair=bad combination and chances are you are not retaining length!

@holmesc1 Why do you care anyway? This is what's wrong with the world too people worrying about what others are doing. While you're up here worrying about what Ateya is doing with her hair she is making her money by doing what she is doing...smh...All I was trying to say that I think she is the best when it comes to showing people how to care for their hair and that you can clearly see that her hair has been cut that way if you look back you would see that her hair was on the top of her back.

@holmesc1 well for yrs i thought i couldnt grow my hair pass neck length n after watchin utube for a yr now n yes wit the help of ateyaa's aphogee regimen, my hair has taken of by cuttin down on heat, moisturisin n sealin n keepin my ends protected as well as GENTLE COMBIN. i havnt worn weaves for a yr now. i wear my own DIY full stockin cap wigs now n again n i cant believe the length i hav now just 2" from apl n am relaxed. so care for those ends n u shall b rewarded

@moveonalongpls well im happy for you because hair is about being healthy so that it can be longer...but it bothers me when women say that your hair is only going to grow to a certain length...thats crazy...its hair...its dead anyway...lol...just take care of your ends...seal them as you mentioned and you will find yourself not cutting your ends as often and alot....u should have a video on how u seal ur ends!
