really? so thats why the russians stepped away from beijing with a 0 medal count in gymnastics. Im not gonna lie, im a huge fan of the russian gymnastics, especially pavlova, but you dont know what kind of training americans go thru like nastia liukin or sacramone, because you are not them. and they obviously must be doing something better because US had the biggest medal count. Although i do wish pavlova would have gotten that beam bronze :/

Sacramones performance was terrible during the olympics and was the reason why Team USA lost. With that kind of performance and still made it to the national team, I wonder how many coaches did she have to sleep with in order to get the spot. Her ass is so fat, I think her ass is at least 20 pounds extra compared to her teammates. That was why she brought down Team USA. Stupid bitch should go to Jenny Craig. I don't agree with you about who SHOULD have won the gold, but I will say Shawn's same routines, performed exactly the same, were somehow scored less than before in the competition. No matter what happens, there will always be questions about the judging.
both in 2007 worlds and 2008 olympics she received low nines generally in execution. I don't see where the scores changed
(except for bars; that event was scored lower than usual but she did have more missed handstands and bent arms on the releases than she had previously
I agree there will always be faulty judging. Look at horse finals, for example, the judging there was crap!
and in the AA, I don't know how shawn's amanar was credited. it was clearly short
I'm talking about a few tenths here and there which eventually made the difference in the AA competition. It looks to me as if the judges were trying to make a statement emphasizing grace and elegance over power and strength, probably as a response to the statement made by the new scoring system which emphasized the opposite. Perhaps this new direction was because of the danger created by awarding points for attempting those skills without perfect execution.

She was really promising in 2007..But she had a bad injury on her hand in the begin of 2008 and didn't threat in the right time to not stop training for the olympics...Now she is losing the movements of her right hand and will move to the USA to cure..Sad!

Yes some gymnasts are very hard working...You obviously do not know much about shawn johnson. She wasn't. She started gymnastics at like age 8. And she goes to school, and only trains like 4 hours a day. 5 days a weeks. which is less than half of what most olympic gymansts are doing.

Only the USOC have attack the Chinese for been underage, why? cause they couldn't accept defeat aka sore losers, they accuse countries of cheating while they are the biggest cheaters in olympic history, don't believe me? how many of US atheletes injected steriods to grab the gold? too many too count, even if the chinese are too young, but that only proofed that the US need to train more, and they made critical mistakes that cost major dedeuctions, can't take the heat, get off the stage...

Actually the Chinese made more mistakes in the Gymnastic field. It's obvious Nastia was robbed of a gold for her bar routine, when Hehexin(sp) made many more visible errors. Cheaters always get caught, just like those who take steroids. The judges were biased against any gymnasts who weren't from China or America anyway. Ksenia deserved at least one bronze. Underage is still underage and it's easier for LIGHTER people to move through air. You can look and tell they're 11-14. There's proof.
China won because the judges were compinsated with luxury hotel rooms, fancy dinners and paid tourist hotspot locations. They were paid off to help china win....how else could china get so many high scores for a lot of faults. When the USA did the same exact faults, they all got 5.2 or so while China got 6.1...explain that!!!

the chinese women do gymnastics like no other! i just love their artistry. everyone seems to be harping on about the age thing, which if they are underage then tut tut on the chinese.
Please don't tell me they are underage because otherwise that means USA got their butt handed to them by a bunch of "underage" girls, that's even more embarrassing!
They are underage no doubt, but it doesn't matter considering we lost by a large sum. If we only lost by a couple tenths we could actually complain. And reasons for underage not being allowed is simple: It is against the rules for one, underage girls have less pressure because they don't realize how big it is compared to older ones, it puts a lot of pressure on them too early in their lives, and other countries abide by them, BUT China.
My question is, are the areas where gymnastics are competed, scanned for low level microwave radiation? Low level MW can throw off co-ordination without causing any physical effects, and its very! localized and cheap to impliment. Hung as a light or in a small box above a balance beam, a number of remote actuated pulses later, and someone would lose concentration and perhaps fall... I do not think such certifications are made?
She lost 1.9 pts. total. In soccer that's equal to like 2-4 goals, in baseball that's like 5 or 6 errors, and in basketball that is like losing by 20.
Um, yeah, I'm pretty sure I just did, and seeing how I PLAY soccer and observe gymnastics enough to know the scoring systems, I CAN compare them. 1.9 pt. deduction is like giving up more than 2 goals, maybe more. I was in a high school tourney the past weekend and we beat two conference teams 15-0 and 8-0 so at least she didn't perform that shitty in terms of her gymnastics score. Then she would probably be hated for life by gymnastic watcher people...yeah.

I'm not kidding you... You can't compare these. If they wanted you to compare scores they'd have similar scoring systems, but since the sports aren't alike in any way shape or form, they can't have similar scoring systems and absolutely cannot be compared ever!
USE LOGIC dumbass. Let's see. Considering the scores are around 14-16 usually, and when she performed badly she only was in two events I think, so the scores for both would be equal to 28-32 if she got within that 14-16 range each time. Now 14 is terrible, and 15 usually is bad too if it's low, and team USA is one of the best, if not the best teams at women's gymnastics, so we don't want a score of 14, or 15, and both of her events were 15.5+ she should have gotten a 30-32 easily. Now because
her routine wasn't that good to begin with, she didn't even get close to a 30-32 from those two events combined, and she fell in both of them and stepped out of bounds in one getting 1.9 points deducted total. So there are like what 4, 5, 6 events total meaning her score had a big part. But if you see her score as an inning in baseball or a period or half in another sport, 1.9 pts. is equivalent to giving up about 8 runs as a pitcher 4-5 as a keeper in soccer, 20 points in a game of one on one
in basketball, and you get the idea. You can compare deduction if you compare what it is to give up points in other sports if you actually KNOW about sports. And I know this is 20 minutes late, I had to do something else first.

I never said she sucked in general, just during that performance, and you should be agreeing because she for one did not perform great, good, or decent. I've seen her perform in other competitions and she is amazing..but she sucked during the Olympics. Well I still think she did do great... if the USA can have these major errors, and still earn silver.. then they are obviously great gymnasts. The level of difficulty in her routines are so high she still did better than most of the other team's competitors. :D

it was pretty close between china and US until it got to the floor excersise. US lost too many points while the chinese performed well. i was also impressed by jiang yuyan during the floors. its unbelievable how she manages to smile and entertain while under pressure

Well...chinese are generally small size and look young. I am 28 and I am always being mistaken as under 18 whenever I went to British pubs while I am studying in UK. My chinese friend who was 35 with a 9 year old daughter was asked to show her ID to prove that she is above 21 when she goes to discos...and this happens very frequently to all my other chinese friends when we are abroad.

During the actual competition, only she fell, and she fell twice. She fell off the balance beam, and she fell during a flip, plus stepped out of bounds. The other two only stepped out bounds. I agree there will always be faulty judging. Look at horse finals, for example, the judging there was crap!

I'm talking about a few tenths here and there which eventually made the difference in the AA competition. It looks to me as if the judges were trying to make a statement emphasizing grace and elegance over power and strength, probably as a response to the statement made by the new scoring system which emphasized the opposite. Perhaps this new direction was because of the danger created by awarding points for attempting those skills without perfect execution.

Sacramones performance was terrible during the olympics and was the reason why Team USA lost. With that kind of performance and still made it to the national team, I wonder how many coaches did she have to sleep with in order to get the spot. She was really promising in 2007..But she had a bad injury on her hand in the begin of 2008 and didn't threat in the right time to not stop training for the olympics...Now she is losing the movements of her right hand and will move to the USA to cure..Sad!

Actually the Chinese made more mistakes in the Gymnastic field. It's obvious Nastia was robbed of a gold for her bar routine, when Hehexin(sp) made many more visible errors. Cheaters always get caught, just like those who take steroids. The judges were biased against any gymnasts who weren't from China or America anyway. Ksenia deserved at least one bronze. Underage is still underage and it's easier for LIGHTER people to move through air. You can look and tell they're 11-14. There's proof.

China won because the judges were compinsated with luxury hotel rooms, fancy dinners and paid tourist hotspot locations. They were paid off to help china win....how else could china get so many high scores for a lot of faults. When the USA did the same exact faults, they all got 5.2 or so while China got 6.1...explain that!!!

They are underage no doubt, but it doesn't matter considering we lost by a large sum. If we only lost by a couple tenths we could actually complain. And reasons for underage not being allowed is simple: It is against the rules for one, underage girls have less pressure because they don't realize how big it is compared to older ones, it puts a lot of pressure on them too early in their lives, and other countries abide by them, BUT China.

My question is, are the areas where gymnastics are competed, scanned for low level microwave radiation? Low level MW can throw off co-ordination without causing any physical effects, and its very! localized and cheap to impliment. Hung as a light or in a small box above a balance beam, a number of remote actuated pulses later, and someone would lose concentration and perhaps fall... I do not think such certifications are made?

She lost 1.9 pts. total. In soccer that's equal to like 2-4 goals, in baseball that's like 5 or 6 errors, and in basketball that is like losing by 20.

Um, yeah, I'm pretty sure I just did, and seeing how I PLAY soccer and observe gymnastics enough to know the scoring systems, I CAN compare them. 1.9 pt. deduction is like giving up more than 2 goals, maybe more. I was in a high school tourney the past weekend and we beat two conference teams 15-0 and 8-0 so at least she didn't perform that shitty in terms of her gymnastics score. Then she would probably be hated for life by gymnastic watcher people...yeah.

Considering the scores are around 14-16 usually, and when she performed badly she only was in two events I think, so the scores for both would be equal to 28-32 if she got within that 14-16 range each time. Now 14 is terrible, and 15 usually is bad too if it's low, and team USA is one of the best, if not the best teams at women's gymnastics, so we don't want a score of 14, or 15, and both of her events were 15.5+ she should have gotten a 30-32 easily. her routine wasn't that good to begin with, she didn't even get close to a 30-32 from those two events combined, and she fell in both of them and stepped out of bounds in one getting 1.9 points deducted total. So there are like what 4, 5, 6 events total meaning her score had a big part. But if you see her score as an inning in baseball or a period or half in another sport, 1.9 pts. is equivalent to giving up about 8 runs as a pitcher 4-5 as a keeper in soccer, 20 points in a game of one on one

The chinese team did a great job to be fair.There are millions of chinese for the chinese governments to choose their participants from and there is no need for them to cheat age for such things...in fact, experience is more precious then age when it comes to international competitions like this.
We cheer when Micheal Phelps win and broke world records...please also cheer for the efforts the girls had put in to clinch the title they deserve.

Well...chinese are generally small size and look young. I am 28 and I am always being mistaken as under 18 whenever I went to British pubs while I am studying in UK. My chinese friend who was 35 with a 9 year old daughter was asked to show her ID to prove that she is above 21 when she goes to discos...and this happens very frequently to all my other chinese friends when we are abroad.

She's a 7 time world medalist,hardly subpar. She fell...so did Nastia,so did Chelsea and Samantha Peszek which is why Chelsea and Sam didn't compete. Shawn and Nastia went out of bounds. They all messed up. You're and idiot and only making your self seem incredibly childish. Grow up.

During the actual competition, only she fell, and she fell twice. She fell off the balance beam, and she fell during a flip, plus stepped out of bounds. The other two only stepped out bounds. Losing 1.9 pts. by yourself is like giving up 10 homeruns as a pitcher, letting about 7 goals as a goalie, or losing a basketball game by over 20 points. Once you win a medal in a competition, you never use that as an example, and you keep looking ahead. The fact you use past events for ucrrent ones is
