Easilly Change Tempos- The Freeze Trick

Hi, we have got some problems with the freeze effect.

In Traktor Pro 1, the freeze tempo smoothly adjusted to the second track (while the "freezed" deck was stopped), while in Traktor Pro 2 the tempo just rudely jumps to a diffrend one, which sounds bad.

Is there any solution for this issiue? Thanks in advance!

so on my vci 300 mkii & vfx1 i would....

play first track, then hit echo with maybe a high feedback, let track keep rolling without volume so as to maintain tempo but keep echo

cue second track. hit play. hit auto temp or change tempo of first track manually to get first track echo to match second track tempo.

let first track echo fade out, probably by decreasing feedback, maybe increasing frequency to get higher and higher

is that correct?

whats the closest thing to a freeze in ableton? this is perfect but i dont know how to emulate it

@KandL507 Hm, the one that would use the least amount of effects would probably be a Beat Repeat turned to "Gate", and a small decay-value on the volume and if you want some filtering. You get this "DU-DU-Du-du-du.." effect, a little but stuttery, but it will overide the track playing, which is pretty essential for the freeze effect.

(were gonna use FX panel 1, make sure its on Advanced)

THE SAME KNOB SHOULD DO ALL THIS:

Select an FX on FX 1 (Button, Direct, Delay)

Turn on FX 1 (Button, Hold)

Change Dry/Wet for FX 1 (Knob, direct) (knob, relative allows for changing of knob sensitivity and acceleration)

Set Parameter 1 to .65 (Button, Direct)

Set Parameter 2 to .5 (Button Direct)

Set Parameter 3 to .5 (button Direct

I'm sorry, thanks for the effort but this technique is shit. I mean this isn't seamless at all, It is just starting an other track right after the track that is playing and adding some delay sounds. It may sound a little bit better than without the delay, but still it's wayyyy from seamless.

Freezing and then fiddling with a filter while also modifying the pitch to bring the frozen track up to the tempo of the new one is away to keep the transition just that much tighter.
