Obama has taken over HOW many companies now, with Republicans protesting the entire way? Remember, Bush and McCain and supported the initial bailouts, but the majority of Republicans voted AGAINST it (and all other bailouts), with Democrats voting for it. Bush and McCain sides with the Democrats on that one.
Republicans spend too much, but Democrats *always* spend more. Clinton eliminated the deficit, yes... but only by raising taxes! That does not count as wise spending.
Only a handfull of republicans voted against the initial bailout that bush created.
This handful of republicans ( Ron Paul included), are the real heros in my book, but, even most of them were swayed by lobbyists, and eventually voted for the bailout. This was the most important moment imaginable.

I agree with her about growing up w/three brothers. That's what I have. I picked up a lot of manly habits from them too. Likewise, the vast, vast majority of our debt comes from the last eight years of Bush's rule. No Republicans seemed to give a shit about it then, and I'm willing to wager that if McCain had won the election, no one would now either.

Obama has taken over HOW many companies now, with Republicans protesting the entire way? Remember, Bush and McCain and supported the initial bailouts, but the majority of Republicans voted AGAINST it (and all other bailouts), with Democrats voting for it. Bush and McCain sides with the Democrats on that one.
Republicans spend too much, but Democrats *always* spend more. Clinton eliminated the deficit, yes... but only by raising taxes! That does not count as wise spending.

This handful of republicans ( Ron Paul included), are the real heros in my book, but, even most of them were swayed by lobbyists, and eventually voted for the bailout. This was the most important moment imaginable.

133 Republicans and 95 Democrats voted AGAINST Bush's bailout.
65 Republicans and 140 Democrats voted FOR Bush's bailout.
Look it up yourself. Republicans clearly stood as the party that was more against the bailout, even when Bush was behind it. It wasn't until a revised version hit the Senate that the bailout passed.

And we've seen middle class wages decrease steadily, regardless of party in the White house, for 30 years. We've been in an economic cycle of booms and bust since the savings and loan crisis in the 80s. We've been gradually deregulating just as long. I'm sorry but no one with even a cursory understanding of the economic cycle can blame Obama.

Well, 60 million people voted for Barack Obama. The country has what, 350 million people? Now I could be crazy, but I'm pretty sure we didn't have close to 18% unemployment at that time. And I'm someone with a job and I'm liberal. Also not on welfare. So yeah. The question is why you hate liberals to the point you have to believe something that you know is patently false. Unemployment insurance is going to just about every political philosophy out there.

I agree with her about growing up w/three brothers. That's what I have. I picked up a lot of manly habits from them too. A lot of people are quite surprised at my strong constitution and strange way I have of standing up to big ole grown men. I attribute that to fighting with my brothers while growing up in the same home as them. Women who grow up around a lot of brothers tend to fight for what they want just like a man. You go MIchele!
