  • how to install that clock?

  • damn nice,i like that wallpaper.where you get it?

  • @gck86 Dude, I forgot. Lol, this was made last year in September. So, I'm sorry.

  • @gck86 Moment_in_space_CVI_by_Funerium

  • why docky and not cairo dock? whats like the diferens.

  • You are great. Sometimes the 'instructional' videos are anything but! You are clear, easy to follow. I'm finally getting my computer to look like I want it to. I have subscribed!

  • Lol. 1:55 "It's pretty good, and It's great"

  • @Frankiethefag69 And Compiz was before Windows Vista. And people just imitated the Eye-candy features from Windows & Mac, and added it onto Ubuntu's Graphical Interface.

    I'm no moron.

Windows is risky to customize - Crashing processes, malaware, viruses, and leaving your computer vulnerable to crash.

Linux - Customization, No viruses, but less compatibility.

  • @Frankiethefag69 Wow, now you're referring me as a Virgin. Sure, I am. But it's better to keep mine than to flaunt it and get STD's.

Um... Linux has more Customization. Each OS has their own features. But yes, some copy each other.

Ubuntu only has the Gnome environment, it's far more customizable than Windows 7.

Windows 7 can Customize, but you have to edit Microsoft's Crappy coding system.

So, Everything you do in Windows can affect the stability of it.

  • @Frankiethefag69 Uh... Idiot. You're the moron. Docky was created as a Standalone because of Gnome Do.

I never mentioned anything about it being similar to Windows 7's Superbar.

Basically, Gnomedo (Docky) was created before Windows 7's idea of the Superbar.

    Think before you talk, idiot.

  • I just installed docky but I still have the task bar that comes with the non-classic view of Ubuntu on the left hand side. How can I get rid of that. Please help me.

  • Can someone please help me! I installed Docky and when I have a maximized window open (Google Chrome) the surrounding area of Docky is my background. Any way to fix that?

    Please respond!

  • @thecomic100 click on the orange anchor, then click on the drop down menu that says none, then select intellihide.

  • @walllable Yes I've tried that but I don't want Docky to be faded as well. It fixes my background problem though.

  • and one new thing how to disable background for docky 'cause i have a black belt in the back of it :/

  • @widelec76 Have you enabled "Extra" settings on Ubuntu? Try that, and maybe it won't show that ugly black box (:

  • i have a question pls respond. How to add permanently a program for example VLC media player to docky?i mean just like your chrome icon. i have ubuntu 10.10

and how to turn on the battery monitoring?

  • @widelec76 You must drag the program from the applications menu at the top left. And just drag it to the dock.

Batter monitoring should be in the Docklets tab.

  • i have a question pls respond. How to add permanently a program for example VLC media player to docky?i mean just like your chrome icon. i have ubuntu 10.10

  • has the software center been really slow for you recently?

  • Great vid MicroHelper. I just downloaded 10.10, and you saved me. I could not find this damn thing. Great program.

  • please help, when i install docky, the dock is there but it has a big black box around it and it reduces the screen size

  • I tried ubuntu from spending years on Mac, the cursor is very sensitive I had to put it on slow and alter the sensitivity. the dock I think is most like OSX is Docky

the OSX dock is 100% rock solid stable as you'd expect from Apple

AWN has much more features than OSXdock and docky but seems not as stable as Docky.

  • Only thing that sucks about this dock is that it doesn't allow you to right click on each icon for the, "properties" option... I'd like to manually change each icon image =\

  • PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

When i install docky and try to open it nothing is happening!

    PLEASE HELP!

  • thanks for the tip! btw how do get those window minimisation / maximisation animations to work? I mean like your windows open in that mac'ish fashion.

  • hey! how to download docky

  • I like your wallpaper a lot. Can I have it?

  • hello friend nice video. Can you tell me which program to record your desktop in ubuntu and which you edit your videos? also that the upload to youtube format? because the quality of your videos are great ubuntu. I record my ubuntu desktop with "gtk record my desktop and what happened to avi format and edit it in windows there but to edit it and pass it to lose a large WMV video quality what do you recommend to keep the video quality ? Greetings and I hope you answer me.

  • @masterhackernet97 I use everything you said there. But I use Camtasia Studio 7.

WMV has decent quality to it. It is great quality. But YouTube doesn't handle it well to the HD Format for some reason...

I recommend using the HD preset in Camtasia Studio. But it uses and .mp4 video type. Which is completely better, I totally recommend it. Because it is smaller(Not as small as an .wmv).

Of course, when you use 1080p. The video is bigger, therefore the video size is bigger.

  • @MicroHelper thanks friend, but as you install camtasia studio 7 in ubuntu? perhaps there is already a version for ubuntu or wine did you use?

thanks for responding and taking into account my comments.

  • Comment removed

  • i had an old xp with a lot of problems so i just instal ubuntu and i like it a lot iam thinking to switch my other windows vista to ubuntu ....thanks for the videos man

  • Pls respond im thinking of switching to ubuntu if i do switch from windows 7 to ubuntu will my hard drives be swiped clean?

  • @defcon915 Nah, I recommend for you to keep Windows 7. Just dual boot Ubuntu.

If you want to uninstall it, just go to control panel on Windows 7 and go to uninstall a program. Then you can just uninstall it from Windows.

But I recommend for you to Dual Boot Ubuntu, with the option to "Install inside Windows".

I have a video on how to Dual Boot Your computer with Ubuntu 10.10. I'll Send it to you through YouTube's email.

  • i uninstalled rythmbox in an attempt to get the icon off of docky but now theres just a grey ? box wont let me right click delete only right click open.

  • what ? that's the worst theme ever

  • AWN!!!!

  • when i installed it, it worked perfect but! there is a black background behind it... how did you do so that the wallpaper cover the entire screen like yours?

  • If there was an option to remove the Dock icon it would be the best for me.

  • I think cairo dock is better but this is great too

  • @SuperHs1998 To supposedly "Enable" it, or run it. Go to Applications> Accessories

    Then, DOCKY :D

Reply back if you get another problem.

  • Docky is pretty amazing.

  • but i can't drag a file on it?

  • how did you remove the toolbar thayt is exaly under in the screen?

  • @MrMortjon Wow. Simple. Right click on it, and click on "Delete this Panel"

Just click on OK. You're good.

  • docky rocks !!

  • Not exactly new but still a good video and I love the intelligent hide with Docky, works awesome.

  • @DanWalshTV Yeah I also use the intelligent hide and it works pretty well!
