Hmm, let's see... Lots of blood, two top athletes on HIAC, Jericho with long hair and long pants and most of all: A crowd with really huge pops... This has to be from the Attitude era. Which year did that match take place?
the reason why the cell didn't break is because its more reinforced on the roof compared to how it was in 1998 when it clearly showed signs of buckling when under to much pressure.
@Jasonxknot Well yeah, but that's Mick Foley we're talking about. Word has it he was a massochist who enjoyed pain (notice I'm not stating this as a fact). It's not something you expect from just about any other wrestler. That same cell broke with Triple H vs Cactus Jack as well, where Triple H tossed him onto the top and made him fall, creating a hole in the matt. The only other fall from a cell was with Rikishi, but who knows how many cushions that wagon had under all that hay.
@ESFAndy011 He's not a masochist and enjoys pain. He just wants to put on a good show. I know the cage broke in that match, but both of those spots were planned. In the King of the Ring match it wasnt planned. The part with him being thrown off was kind of planned in that he told Undertaker to throw him off at that moment, but the cage breaking was totally unexpected. HBK fell off the cage through a table in the 1st hell in a cell match.
@jungle10ful Watch Mick Foley's Greatest Hits and Misses. He says right in it that the cage breaking was a surprise for both of them and it was the first time in his career that he was knocked out.
if it would have broke there would have been serious injuries, probably deaths, your not just landing on your back. your landing on someone who is landing on their head on the same time
@DeathMountainDew That's their(WWE) old cell. Their new one the introduced with the HiaC PPV is now 20 ft tall. They can't be doing this shit anymore. Especially no "Mick Foley" bumps{IE the fall from the 16-ft cell}.
@greenday3091 Not entirely true. According to an interview with Chris Jericho, guys are trying to avoid going on top of the cell to keep it from getting stale. If every match went on top of the cell, people would get bored with it. Candy is a tasty treat to eat, but you cannot eat it all the time.
@delacroixwalrus That is true. That's why (I think) Orton recieved a nice pop when he went to the top of the cell at the most recent HiaC PPV. Granted it was for some photo ops, but he still got a pop from that. But all-in-all, Jericho's right, it wouild get stale after a-while.
@zerchoip43 No? Mick Foley fell through the top of a HIAC before and he lived. Hell, the ring even broke and made a hole. He even fell from the TOP of a HIAC onto a table.
@ShinnVal True, but Foley is a freaking madman (and an awesome wrestler) and he knew how to take bumps better then anyone. Chris Jericho might not of been able to take it. They probably wouldnt've died but they both could be seriously injured.
@TheC0okies its not "fake" acctually its scripted, these moves they do hurt , a backflip through a table hurts..... so no I dont know its fake, I know its scripted though
@orcen98 Those ladders they use are not wood. Go to a show when they use ladders and you'll see they're metal. They dont even look close to wood on tv. I do not know why you would think that.
@Jasonxknot explains why big show can pull one of the steps of a ladder of so easy, And there are videos showing when sin cara went through the ladder u could see the wood
@orcen98 I saw that sin cara thing. Just looks like a bent ladder to me. Its kinda shitty quality so it's hard to tell, but I went to WM26 and I got to see the ladders after it was over and they were metal. Far as Big Show pulling one of the steps off, they could just loosen a step that makes it to where he can pull it off easily. Wood is harder and heavier than the metal that ladders are made of so I dont see a reason why they would use wood.
the referee has some kind of supernatural powers that he can teleport wherever he wants... that's why hes up there.
