@ImOfNope Yes, the music was not reminiscent of the era. Too much rumba, or some such sound. Should have been more stately. A nice bit of Beethoven would have worked better. But rumba? What is that stuff?
Nicely done video on a true baseball giant. I am a lifelong Mets fan but this video, about one of baseball's all time greats, brought tears to my eyes. We'll never see the likes of Lou again.
#4 will never die. Lou Gehrig lives on as long as memory sustains him. My father, also a super-jock, machine of a man, was stricken by ALS, the cruellest disease there is. This brought tears to my eyes. What a great man Gehrig was. Simply a legend.
He was every bit as good as the Babe. He just wasn't a grandstander. Babe was the showman and there is nothing wrong with that but I hate that Lou questioned his abilities because of it. Lou was simply amazing.
True. But I remember watching a vid, where Lou was overheard saying he idolized Babe and thought he was a God, but I can see there was a bit of rivarly between the two. Their both still the greatest yankees of all though
They were the 2 best of there generation but not the best ever.Pitching is way better today so its hard to compare. There were quite a few since then that were better all around players then ruth and gehrig.Personally i felt in ruths era that ty cobb was the best but thats just me.
no steroid no batting helmets just a pure strong baseball player in the dead ball era which was harder to hit homeruns. remember voted with most votes for team of the century.
Not being given a chance because blacks and domincans work for less and all they do is play baseball. It isn't racist if it's true! Not that you would have any right to cry " racist " with the " lousy krauts " remark. Classy bro, classy.
True! However, i recall way back Mr.Williams puting a list of the greatest hitters of All-Time,and he had Babe Ruth at #1 and Lou Gehrig at #2. Who better than Ted Williams to make such a list!!!!
You ll notice that Gehrig initially walked away from the mike. Then changing his mind gave us the farewell for the ages. Read Shirley Povich account 4 -4 -39 Washington Post if for context. Article brilliant.
Great, great job. In a sport filled with nicknames none fit a player more than the one for Gehrig, "The Iron Horse". Perfect video for perhaps THE perfect player.
wow this is really good. where in the world did you get all the video of him?

The greatest 1st Baseman of all time. Dignity and class. Staggering numbers in RBI s batting behind Ruth.

And he played without steroids unlike the Yankees of today. Clemens, Rodriguez, Pettitt, Giambi.
