As with singers, musicians, dancers and all artists, sometimes it isn't always how good or great you are, but it's about being in that right place at that right time with enough talent to carry it off.

There are many great artists, that the stars just didn't line up for them and they never got the opportunity this kid did. Give him 10 years and see where he is.

@ImpendentSorrowHeart for the first few years of playing drums i would make really dumb faces while doing fast fills...i think it's cause you're concentrating on too many things at once. now that i'm a seasoned drummer i'm quite relaxed while playing and the dumb faces have stopped. perhaps the same will be true of this kid in a few years.

Yeah, he's good, and I wouldn't want to have a drum of with him. I've only been playing for just under a year though. This is pretty average stuff with a little bit extra. I think part of the reason why everyone likes him is because most of them probably don't know what's good and what's okay. Anything with fast singles seems to win them over.

He tries to hard, i've been paying the drums for 3 years and most experienced drummers don't screw up there face in a solo because it shows they're putting everything they've got into simple beats. My best tip is to save your energy because a long simple solo is better than a quick solo where you hit as much as possible because it just sounds like noise
