@Ricardowgr hi there :) I'd say it is a good car yes. We've been driving ours for 3 and a half years now and it's still pretty much like new. Runs well, good fuel economy and it's fun! You can get some pretty good second hand deals around nowadays (1.2L is a veteran engine that will live on and on reliability-wise) or if you are in the States I hear they're not selling well so I'm sure you can find a good deal somewhere! :)
@Ricardowgr haha that's cool :) Yes, I enjoy the 1.2 but sometimes a little more oomph would be welcome which I'm sure the 1.4 provides!! You'll love the car if you get it, I hope you do :)
@AlexStLaurent hey :) thanks for the comment! I just had a remote shutter release (around a fiver from eBay or similar) which has a 'lock down' feature, and then had it held down so the camera was shooting continuously until my memory card filled up (end of video). Hope this helps!! Charlie -
@bl0at3r the camera was mounted on a tripod, one leg on the rear seats, and the other two legs in the foot wells, one behind the driver and one the passenger seat. I then used the seatbelts of the rear seats to keep the tripod safe in case I had to brake hard, or obviously had an accident, don't want the camera flying around smacking me over the head! :-)
@bl0at3r yes, this was recorded with the Sigma 10-20. Glad you like the video! Feel free to send me any of your timelapse experiments as and when you upload them I'd love to have a look! :-)
If she want's to pay that little more, for the extra style and slightly less practicality and likes the more smooth ride, than very sporty driving style; it's great!
Just remember to avoid the electrical sunroof IF she is a bit tall ;D
I think the car is pretty fantastic, great value for money, with a larger boot than the mini, and very comfortable for three people, okay for four. The ride is smooth and the 1.2 petrol is probably the best bet, unless you really need a bit more speed, in which case the 1.4 is your option, but the turning circle in the 1.4 is horrific due to a larger six speed transmission. (I find the 1.2 plenty powerful for everything).
I think the 500 is great, wholeheartedly recommend it ;-)
is this a good car? i'm thinking about getting one myself

@charliestyr oh thanks, I really want it now! Here in Brazil they are doing quite well (they come with a 1.4l engine that is pretty good =])

superb, I have been experimenting with time-lapse too. what lens do you have on the 400d? I guess something wide like the sigma 10-20?
how did you mount the camera?

What a disappointment.
The video is too fast.
You can not enjoy the ride.

Cool video. Firstly, I found your vid because my Mum's looking for a new small car and I want her to get a Fiat 500 - would you recommend it?
The time lapse video reminds me of a segment from a film, Koyaanisqatsi. Don't suppose you've seen it have you?
