WTF movie is this? The Chinese Connection? Also, a "Real" no rules fight between skilled opponents would probably look a lot different then anything in MMA or UFC. For 1, just knowing that it is up to the mercy of your opponent to decide when to stop, and no ref to break, it might be fought slower and more deliberate. Also the fear of being crippled,mamed or killed could cause an adrenalin rush causing your body to burn energy at an exponential rate, if you can't master your fear and aggression.

UFC, and MMA aren't great examples. It's supposed to be A master at an art against a master at another art. Instead, they know little about a couple subjects, and they lift weights and train. These guys don't have much technique.  I like to watch it, but some of the punches they throw are shit. They have lots of ground technique but that's about all. oh and there are exceptions.

The important thing to remember is that Bruce founded Jeet Kun Do, which is a evolution based system. Jeet Kun Do has a significant ground game. Another factor to consider is Bruce spent time at the kodokan training with the finest Judoka. This fantasy you refer too is exactly that, don't be confused and think this is how Bruce would fight in a real combat situation, this is movie flash,just because he did not show ground game in movies does not mean he did not have it. In Bruce Lee's book on Self-Defense you often see low kicks which are more practical in real-life fights. Incidentally I think that in a real life fight most of the fighting might be in a lot closer, but that is just my opinion.

yeh, but only if you compare the JKD from 1970's. Lee intended JKD to be changing and forever incorporating new elements. If you take any martial art from the 70's, then it wouldn't nearly be as good as arts from today. That's why JKD was never intended to be a set/fixed style of moves.

As for standup fighting, there are plenty of styles that are better than Okinawan karate and muy thai.

I think Bruce could perform well in the UFC. Would he completely and utterly Dominate? No. He was an amazing person and all around superior martial artist with amazing stregnth for his size.
