  • excellent!!!!! congratulation British

  • yep for a while it was so porn

  • It's cute!

  • This is nice... They are trying to do what we had back when EOS Airlines was doing the 757-200's from JFK to London. With this Air Bus 318 it is nice... A little small traveling over the ocean but people fly G450 &550's over the ocean everywhere...This looks good...

  • its just a bloody advert stop making fun of this man and picking on him he is in fact one of my dads friends friend actually he lives in london and i never met him before but hes on my dads facebook friend

  • it wud be gr8 if they started operating from newcastle upon tyne as my father regualaly goes to nyc for buisness

  • rofl@the sexy music, especially when the jazz flute comes in.

  • She closed the overhead bin at 1:28 but it was open again at 1:35

  • mmmm....Is it Really British Airways or a frachise? I wonder how much they pay their crew?..Peanuts I suspect....have you seen the lcy-jfk fares?...ah well the W..sorry B ankers can afford to exploit the people who serve them, can they not?

  • @brendabirmingham Haaaa "W..sorry B ankers" :P

  • This plane really is "baby airbus".

  • they fly via shannon for a refuling stop,on the way out,but because they can take on more fuel in the u.s.a.they fly direct to london city

  • A318 have more range than the A319-20-21

so they can fly to new york

  • @SPYGUN011 All four of them can fly to New York from LCY

  • lol one passenger

also it said it was flighing to new york and we all now that a a318 cant fly that far

  • @2010mrpredator1

just google for British Airways A318...

  • @2010mrpredator1 Ba uses there two A318's from city to JFK via Shannon on the way out as a refueling stop because they can't take off from city with a full tank due to the short runways and a heavy plane. However on the way back it is a straight flight as JFK's runway is longer and so she is able to take off at a heavier weight. So yes, now we all know that a A318 can fly that far :)

  • @joshi18l well i didn't know there was a stop over

  • @2010mrpredator1 wrong. Look on various reliable flight trackers, the A318 stops off in Ireland before going over to the States. The size of the plane doesn't determine it's ability to fly long distance.

  • @scorchingscone96 I know

  • Anyone know any pilots for British Airways? inbox me thanks

  • WTF!!! u serious an A318

  • Thought the aircraft's allowed to fly into London city was props, Turbo props and the only jet allowed to fly into city is the BAE-146?

  • @OMFGitzDannyP and Fokker F28

  • 2:28 reminds me of Mr. Bean in Business Class heading for LA.

  • The A318 looks almost long as it's tall in this horizontally squeezed video.

  • This was made when no passengers had boarded the plane and then as he left some passengers had boarded the plane . this whole thing was made 4 advertising and it was made when the plane was on the ground (refueling , maintanance )

  • Would they actually use an A318 For such a long haul transatlantic flight??

  • 0:57 - all one passengers :)

  • Is that the only person on the flight ????

  • do any1 think BA concorde would have been able 2 fit on london city airport's runway?

  • @tomallmark1 lol no

  • @tomallmark1 no way a concorde can take off from LCY

  • how in the hell does that aircraft make it to nyc.

  • @lionking4iscomingIV the plane stops off in shannon for refuelling

  • @lionking4iscomingIV xtra fuel tanks

  • That guy is slow at texting.

  • SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • 1:57 i'll give you the secret hand job but don't tell anyone! ;-)

  • @airbus198 ur wrong

  • hes a llonar

  • ba could use biggin hill or northolt (terminal upgrade of course) for exclusive operations including their cityflyer services. that way the a318 can take off properly and fly non stop.

  • @pointer56 this service is aimed (almost exclusively) at people who work in the City and Canary Wharf areas. The journey time from CW is about 10-15 mins and that combined with the 15 mins before departure check in, means that someone in Canary Wharf could be in the office until 15h30 and still make the 16h00 flight with time to spare. That's a huge sell, and is part of the reason this service has been so successful.

  • @michslav apparently the average load is only 8

  • @kerrdavidson95 I work on this service and I can tell you in no uncertain terms that the loads are never that low. I've done about 25 trips on it now, and I admit that the load on the very first one I worked on was....8. However since then I'd say that the average load on my flights has been around the 25 mark. I don't mind it when it's busy though, it makes the flight go quicker.

  • It looks like a model aircraft. It's far to small.

  • Hey, it attracts about as many passenger(s) as the Pan Am Orion shuttle from 2001! They need to start offering coupons if this keeps up.

  • This is hugely successful for BA

  • Add this to the tags section of this video, it will fix the aspect ratio problem this video has!

    yt:stretch=16:9

  • any1 got any links for this plane and livery for FSX? I'd really like to try flying it :)

  • @bryanttieAVIATION its not quite the same but on Simviation you can download an A319 in BA Livery its on FSX Civil Jets and its page 94 I'm trying to post a link but its not working

  • @fsx884 its ok m8, ive already got a ba a321 ill stick with that for now thanks for helping :)

  • @bryanttieAVIATION Google search Project Airbus, doundload the A318 model version 2 (There is also the A319, and A320 as well). I believe I got the livery from AVSIM or flightsim . com. I just made a video set of this flight myself in FSX.

  • looks like they're really doing this. The flight from LCY to JFK requires fuel stop in Ireland because the plane cannot depart LCY with enough fuel. However, return trips are non-stop.

  • ABSOLUTE DISGRACE, the flight number that is (001)... When Concorde last flew BA vowed never to use the historic flight number ever again. Did they hope people would simply forget their promise? Unbelievable, destroying their heritage in the name of profit.

  • it is weird that his laptop wall paper is British Airways

  • @leonardomafucci he might be like a manager or something like that for BA.

  • @leonardomafucci its a BA commercial what u expect?

  • @vambob There are only 32 seats not 52

  • the flight is 7 and half hours long from jfk to london city airport.... is it all business class and if it is why?

  • @makdak420 It is all business class, the reason is because Londo City airport is right in the center of the fiancial district of London as you could see fro the video. Only business travelers are going to want to fly that airport, everyoe else they can fly from LHR-JFK which has Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class.

  • @cheesemaster1000 Actually, I think most people would like to fly into London City because of it's proximity to the city. But, because of the high restrictions on the airport they can only fly certain aircraft. All business class just is there to make people have more of a desire to fly the A318 and is why the price is 1,900 to do it.

  • @vambob

    Go to the [Airbus] website.

    Go to [Aircraft families]

    Go to [A320 Family]

    Then go to [A318]

SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE AIRBUS PAGE.

  • @vambob It's a bog-standard A318 with two auxiliary fuel tanks. I also know the reason they stop in Shannon is technical (for fuel).

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 i read an article !! they stop because they cant take off at london with full tanks!! because the runway is not long enough haha!!

  • This is a fake video!! I don't think any airplane would like to fly having just one passenger in the plane which has the capacity to hold more than hundred passenger.

  • @LxSharma Pause it at 1:29, do you really think it can hold more than a hundred people? It's an all business class cabin.

  • @LxSharma It's most likely a promotional video for BA. This is a real route that BA services with this type of Aircraft, which is a modified A318, called the A318 Elite. It trades weight for range. which is why it can fly transatlantic. It only can fly 32 passengers. The benefit of that for the passenger is extra room.

  • The scum that are striking need a good kicking. Wish I worked for them I d work and see who stops me.

  • I had no idea that the A318 could fly such long routes! Is it a CJ?

  • @CaptainPrad No, it's a normal A318. They have a technical stop in Shanon, Ireland and then do the crossing, it then fly's directly to LCY from New York. But it is a long flight, I see your point.

  • @SouthAfricanAirways1 Actually it is not a normal A318. It's a A318 Elite.

  • Small plane flying far away!

  • @jimbo01111 exactly compared to easyjet

easyjet is low cost and is a honeypot to tourists and travellers from low cost

BA is high cost and less passengers

  • @jimbo01111 you have no idea about how business works do you?

  • Dont you think that the A318 is too small for a route like this... I dont know... even with the cabin comfort its not the same as travel in a widebody...

  • @tutaiz you couldnt have a much bigger plane taking off and landing on such a short runway, thats the whole point...

  • @kem1880 Yeah... It makes sence... The London City Airport is more accessible... But the A318 can fly that much or the flight have stops?

  • The Shannon stop is actually the objective! You clear customs and immigration in Ireland and land as a domestic flight in New York saving around 90 mins off the average business passengers day.

  • @kem1880 no, actually the plane can only take off from london city with around 200 miles of fuel to make it to new york due to the short runway at LCY. They throw the stop in Ireland in to make it the trip appealable.

  • @X46RAPTOR & Kem1880. Actually It's a combination of both of your comments. I saw an episode from Richard Quest on CNN Business Traveler and he took this flight BA001 explaining what you to are commenting now. Its because the A318 cannot takeoff with full fuel load to KJFK, they make a fuel stop at Shannon & during this time the passengers can clear customs and immigration to US. Right now Shannon is the only place outside the US that has this facility & is promoting this to other airlines too.

  • Dublin airport has thas US CBP facility too beside Shannon

  • @kem1880 Regardless, I guess no flying is taking place now lol...

  • @kem1880 Yeah... British Air is a very smart company... I couldn´t think that way... But for business passenger is a lot easier... Thanks for explain me that !

  • @tutaiz The A318 has the range to make it both ways non stop (it's range is 4000nm), however, because EGLC runway is so short, it can't takeoff with a full fuel load, like it can from JFK, necessitating a stop at Shannon on the Westbound flight.

  • those engines look huge for this smaller transit plane.....

  • I can't see how this flight makes economic sense for BA

  • I know what you mean. The cost in fuel etc would not be made up by a few passengers. I flew back from Newquay to Manchester once and there were 6 people on the plane....this was not long after a FULL flight to Shanghai. I know the destinations and types of flights explain this, but the change was shocking....lol

  • @rb211747 It's a club world only fare on this service with passengers paying thousands to use this service and it goes full almost every day believe me it's a very profitable route

  • @cheesemaster1000 It's a club world only fare on this service with passengers paying thousands to use this service and it goes full almost every day believe me it's a very profitable route

  • I'm going to LCY may 14th from Rotterdam!

Two stress free airports and the best plane in the world :D

  • hm, plane's packed.

  • It also stops in SNN so tht pax can pre clear customs and immigrations therefore whn it lands on JFK it arrives as a domestic flight .

  • Actually it's taking off where the a318 can't have full fuel. The route westbound is London City-Shannon for refueling-then New York. Eastbound the flight is direct New York to London City.

  • the a318 is too heavy to land with full fuel so it has to stopover in shannon before!

  • what do u mean land full fuel (where)

  • Imagine to be the only passenger on a flight from London to New York. This must be a strange experience. I think i would get scared.

  • As it is... London is great!!!!! I love that city..

  • wow , the Wall street and London City banker`s flight .... hard working , bailed out scumbags Flight The Devil`s Fligh !

  • the shannon stopover is back!!

  • this flight looks really cool! just a pain it has to do a stop in Ireland on the way to new york..

  • @X46RAPTOR The Shannon stop is actually the objective! You clear customs and immigration in Ireland and land as a domestic flight in New York saving around 90 mins off the average business passengers day.

  • well i Don't think BA will make much money with one Passenger lol

  • @stevetadams1963 dude that's a premium service, not an "true" flight

  • @stevetadams1963 Special treatment for that passenger ^^

Sex, threesome in the lay down seat.

  • @stevetadams1963

well i Don't think BA will make much money with one Passenger lol

    Your Right

This Was A Ad To Sell The Service To H.N.W.I. Who Fly Instead Of

Driving To Work. It Can't Be That Far Being 15 Min Flight So Its

H.N.W.I. Who Don't Want To Drive 1or 2 Hours To Work.

  • i like the A318 and other airbuses of that family for their ability to takeoff and land in that short of a distance

to me, the A318 looks kinda weird cuz its got a huge fucking tail and decent sized engines but its fuselage looks kinda tiny, so it looks outta proportion

  • I think that only I pilot who flight both boeing/airbus could answer. By the way in this case A318 is the best : she needs 4450ft for take off, A319 needs 6400ft and the 737NG needs 8000-8300ft. You dont love that plane? ok you may swim in the Thames then :-D

  • hahaha, he uses the same pc as my school pc xD

    (lenovo R61i)

That is a dam piece of shi*.

sure nice plane, seats and online conection, but he cant f***ing use it whit a piece of shi* like that xD

  • good jobs British Airways! note 10 for you

  • i call it a mosquito plane haha

  • Amen to that!

  • hahaha i need to ask u something whats better? 737-700 next generation or Airbus A319-100

  • I personally prefer the look of the 737-700. What about yourself?

  • 737-700 all the way in fact all the 737 NEXT GENS i prefer over the A318,19,20,21

  • So this is an all first or business class configuration?

  • all club (buisness class)

  • What awful video, terrible music and not very clever filming.... i would expect more from BA!

  • Would a A318 be able 2 go to new york?

  • Yes the range capabilities allow it to, but it has to stop in Shanon on the ways to NY. Because the runways at LCY is not long enough for a full fuel load take--off. The flight does not stop in Shanon on the return trip.

  • wow!

I thaught it was just The big planeswhat could go there. Could a dash8 go?

  • No, sorry. The Dash8 has a range capability of about 1200-3400 km. Pretty much just Airbuses that can do the journey from LCY there are other Airbuses that can do it though. But they are too big (A319, A320, A321) Check the Airbus website for more info. @(^_^)@

  • Yes it can, London to New York is 5580km. the range of the a318 is 5700km. it is in the range but u need additional fuel and all when u land so technically, yes u could fly one. certrainly, no airline would be retarded enough to try doing it!

  • well it has been for more than a month.

    LCY-SNN-JFK

  • More Spin from London City Airport. I wish they would put as much effort into the community as they do on their PR

  • 2:07

    isn't that prohibited?

  • He probably had flight mode on.

  • be a bit strange like passing by saying "hmmm, I think i will go to new york today" lol.

  • first big plane to land at city, Wow!!

  • FSXpilot6

You are however allowed to take on a pretty big piece of hand luggage!!! The London City Airport is excellent and easy to get to and this is the biggest jet it takes.

  • I think that an A318 is a little far fetched from London to New York. It is small and cramped. The Business Class looks a little tight, but cozy. Definately would fly this rought if there was a bigger jet. It just seems the same to fly an ATR turboprop to NY. It just don't make no sense!

  • You can also use internet & mobile phone (texts only) throughout the flight. It's the only trans-atlantic service to offer this.

  • which Telco do you have to be with?? or is it just a matter of roaming with the femtocell on board?

  • 'OnAir' is the provider - i believe you need to contact your own telco to set it up.

  • Designed for BA's premium passengers in response to City heads of industry's feedback saying they would use the service if it existed. It is already well booked up into next year - due to many companies offloading their private jets due to economic downturn. It's a matter of minutes from LCY into Canary Wharf where most of these people work. The Shannon stop-over (outbound only) is used to clear US customs - so flight arrives in USA at a domestic terminal - and you're straight into a cab! Slick!

  • i agree this is a good idea for businesses getting right into the city. But Virgin Atlantic first class on an a340 or 747 is far better, especially as its non-stop ulike the a318 stopping at Shannon

  • Virigin don't have a first class product. 'Upper Class' is a Business class product.

British Airways DO have First class and ALSO have a Business class product (ClubWorld).

BA then have premium economy (WorldTravellerPlus) and economy (WorldTraveller) services like Virgin.

Virgin are non-stop because they only operate from larger airports - BA is also non-stop from Heathrow, etc. The airline is irrelvant to this. Virgin simply don't have services from London City Airport.

  • @bryanttie what first class? virgin don't HAVE a first class - only economy, prem economy and buisiness

  • 2:05 "Oh Hei, Yu Takin Picturz?!" :D :D

  • Of all the London Airports, London City is by far the most efficient and stress free.

  • @MrSpockoff

what about London Southend Airport :D

  • I would stick with BA if I was you they are loads better than Virgin trust me.

  • LCY-JFK is business class only! LHR-JFK has all 4 BA cabins - WorldTraveller (economy),WorldTravelPlus(premium economy),ClubWorld(business class),First(first).

You are comparing a £300 economy flight from LHR with a £2000 busines flight from LCY. Business from LHR would be 1800+(i.e. there is small a 10% premium for LCY).

You have got to compare like-with-like, biz is 1800+ compared to ~2000, If all you want to do try is LCY airport, fly to EDI etc shorthaul in economy for £40.

  • don't have to fly to EDI. I recently flew to Paris from LCY for £30

  • The reason I said EDI, was simply because it was a BA destination.

It was to highlight the reason why this flight is priced such is becuase of distance and being business class only.

And not becasue it is BA, therefore I picked a shorthaul BA destination from LCY that had economy.

Also I said 'EDI, etc', so yes of course, if you just want to fly from LCY there are plenty of places you can fly to. [Including paris - with cityjet (for AirFrance).]

  • you're not comparing apple to apple. this flight is fully business class. the £300 tickets would be for economy.

  • Looks great - can't wait to try it.
