@Brunnno10 ... no, it's not the pickups -- it's the strings. They are new wound strings and just haven't been broken in well at this point. I may not have applied some lube (I can't remember) but I usually clean them before & after playing. It reduces the 'scraping' sounds that can sometimes happen with new strings & rough finger tips. The pickups are awesome. Never mind what that other poster said about the 'squeaking' and need for new strings ...
@Brunnno10 I'm using 9's ... I used to use 10's back when I thought that I would get a heavier sound, but I'm tuned to standard 440 so using 9s sounds the same and is much easier to bend :) I've heard that many guitarists use 8s or hybrids but people just know know it. I'm using Ernie Ball ...
@Brunnno10 Hey bro ... I used the same Peavey Vypyr 75 that I used in that video I did one year ago ... back then, I used a MESA BOOGIE setting ... in this video here, I used a PEAVEY 6506 setting with much of the gain rolled back. Peavey Vypyr ... outstanding analog sounding amp! I tossed my Line6 Spider and bought two of these :)
... and you can see me using the volume & different Seymour Duncan pickup selections - listen for the slight sound difference (aside from my crappy playing)
... also, the into I was on the Seymour Duncan 'Hot Rails' neck pickup with the volume on guitar about '5' ... after that and up too 2 minutes just before the change, I switch the the Seymour Duncan 'Little '59' pickup in the middle and have the volume around '3 to 5' ... then I go to Seymour Duncan 'Hot Rails' in the bridge position with volume on guitar around '8 or 9' (out of 10) -- hope that helps ya :)
This Seymour Duncan hot rails 59 and little, they squeak?
