  • aw ur horse is such a cutie :D

  • Very good job with the video. It's so well done that I'm going to have my new mounted police officers watch it before they begin their basic training! They all have zero horse experience so they need to start with the absolute basics, including saddling. Thanks again and wanted you to know that you are helping 7 cops learn how to saddle a horse! :-)

  • Wow u tacked up a horse completely in like 5 mins!! It takes me like 12 mins lol

  • I love your horse. it was funny when you were on the other side and the camera caught him chewing on the cross tie. LOL!

  • your horse is well cute and funny lol!:)

    what is his name?

  • loving the jodpers ;)

  • YOU R AMAZING!! Love the trick with the halter

  • Your horse is beautiful. How tall is he.

  • Pretty horse and i like your saddle pad

  • pretty horse.

  • Great vid! Your so lucky to have a horse!!! ;) what breed is he/she?

  • @LlamasAreWatchingYou Thanks! and I know<3 such a gift! and he is a hanoverian:)

  • Are you still leasing o'rion?

  • @HorseyFriends I don't lease him I own him:)

  • @TrailsEndDayz I thought so because on one of your videos you said that your lease was over but he's still around! LOL So, yea, I was just wonderin' :)

  • Wow. I wish my horse was that calm with having her ears handled. Haha. Beautiful boy, you have there. ;)

  • @AlexandriaPerry thanks so much! he's the best<3

  • love your saddle !! wish i had a jump saddle

  • @nat9810 hahah thanks!:)

  • Thanks for making this video!

What brand of saddle are you using?

  • @blizzardgeckos bates all purpose:)

  • i honestly do not know why watch these. like i know how to tack up both english and western i just like watching them to see the different techniques people use to tack up! :D

  • @TheKelseyEquestrian hahahahah yeah same here!

  • You do it very well only you could explain how to attatch the saddle pad straps to the girth attachtment thingys

  • do you get your tack on Dover? Oh and your horse is pretty my horse is a thoroughbred, and a retired racing horse! :)

  • what is the martingale?

  • ur saddle blanket (not english sry for any mistakes) is sooo cute! nice horse btw ;)

  • When I'm tacking up I usually do 1 hole on the elastic side of the girth, then go 4 holes in the other side, then when I'm about to ride, I do the elastic side to 4.

  • my horse woulda tried to take off when i took his bridal off -_-' and hes 16. stubborn butt :] your horse is gorgeous :D

  • You seen nervous in this video bless ya :) and the girth shouldn't really ever come off the saddle unless your changing it. ;)

  • I've never seen a wither pad before. I just use a saddle pad then I put the saddle on, should I use a wither pad?

  • Instead of a wiffer pad I use a gel pad

  • i lovvvveeeee your horse! beautiful!

  • your horse is so well behaved with the bit my horse would tossed her head away from the bit!! btw your horse is so cute

  • what r the blue things on his legs for i think i know what they r but i have never used them on my horse

  • Could you do a video on A Day at the Barn, and putting Boots and Bandages on.??? Btw I love your horse Orion I have a 15hh Leopard Appaloosa called Hickory.

  • i love your saddle pad!!!!

  • @xElizabethloveablex first u should put the elasticy side of the girth on the left side first and put it on the first whole, then go around to the other side and do the girth up as much as needed so that u can fit the plam of your hand underneath, and so that while u r doing groundwork before u ride, the saddle wont fall off :)

  • i think u should put the reins over his head before u take off his halter cause if he decides to go somewhere then he cant get far :) I learned this the hard way, and my pony went trotting out of the cross tie area, lol

  • I bet those crossties taste delicious :D

  • Great vid!! What Breed is your horse?!

  • @Dressage4Life01 thanks! and a hanoverian:)

  • really cute horse! is he urs?

  • @breyer4life thanks and yes!:)

  • Horses are so Amazing..I just don't get it how people Abuse and Kill them :(

  • Just one thing. You shouldn't leave your horse standing there when you put the bridle on.

  • western saddles are easyeir :P

  • rule number one dont walk under your horse

  • You forgot to pull the saddle pad and cloth off the horses whithers that could hurt the horse when you ride it

  • Great videos and the horse is cool too: D:) ^ ^

    Yours*

  • fail...

  • You should always attach the girth first, if something freaked him out and he jumped around the saddle would be hanging by his neck from the breastplate and freak him out more.

  • Comment removed

  • were did u get that pad from?

  • @DressageGirly1 the half pad

  • thank you so much! It was really helpful :)

  • your horse is so perty he handsom

  • I'm pretty sure u put the martingale on first, then the saddle pads and saddle, then the girth. Then the briddled.

  • Your horse is adorable! My pony at my stables tries to run away when I try and get the bridle on him! But yeah good vid

  • Lol i couldnt stop laughing when your horse kept chewing on the ropes i know its not a good habit but it was just funny, btw really good vid really clear :D

  • i'd get so pissed off lining up the saddlepad and saddle lol, does the saddlepad ever move when u put the saddle on?

  • cool

  • Excellent video - clear instructions and adept handling of all your tack. Would suggest though that when you take off the cross ties that you place the reins over the horses neck - just incase he decides to wander off!

  • love the socks and sandles! ;)

  • you'r supposed to put the rains over he's head. what if he accidentaly steps forward, then he'll be stuck in the rains.

    cute horse tough.

  • my horse is a amarican quarter horse and he is bay i ride western

  • @pittielove i was taught 3 fingers under the nose band and a fist under the throat latch

  • I love your horse, Handsome Baby!!!

  • it's funny how people are taught slightly differently everywhere.. I'm told its 2 fingers in the nose band, and 4 under the throat latch

  • @pittielove Same :P

  • When you said "and if there fat" at 3:11 one of them winnied!!! hahaha

  • Your horse is really cute! and some horses don't need the "withers pad" or whatever it's called lol but also some horses don't need a martingale. . . But good job :)

  • whats a breastplate?

  • @rockergurl040 It keeps the saddle from slipping back wards on to their back

  • oh my goodness your horse is sooooooooo cute

  • what brand of saddle do you have and is it replacment gullet cause i dont have a horse yet but in trying to find a sadlle with a replacement saddle

  • love the blue theme it goes well with bay horses

  • how old are you? sorry its just im thirteen and might be getting a pony soon so was just wondering:)

  • thanks :) this helped me alot :D

  • @Breadification if it its a breastplate like that yes you do:)

  • @braidster1 r u kidding??

  • @StarShining40 lmfaao, so long ago, and yes. i was at my barn watching this on my phone when an earth quake hit us;P

  • At my stables we always put are reins on first the are bridle so we have them secure

and the reins we leave them attahed hehe..

  • @horsesarecutee yeaahhh i should have done that lol:)

  • What kind of saddle to you have? Also Orion's funny nibbling at the cross ties ;0 LOVE your socks too!!

  • @Pumpkij1425 a bates.

  • Ur horse is such a cutie!!

  • @psychojoker131 hahah thank you:) he is pretty cute:)

  • Oh, also, you should'nt let your reins dangle like that. If he/she were to spook and trip in them, he/she could really get hurt. You may not think your horse will freak but ya never know. Nice saddle, too!

  • I love the person filming goes "What are you doing" to your pony! So cute, BTW!

  • @peacebeauty101 no i dont really know hahah just when i get around to it or when i have time lol

  • Haha okaay! Thanks :) You could even get other members from your barn to play its really fun that way too!

  • @peacebeauty101 okay cool:)

  • No you dont sound stupid! Lol Chase me charlie is when you set a jump on the first hole of your standard and you jump it and then after you jump it you higher it by one hole and so on :)

  • @peacebeauty101 ohhhhh i seee lol and sure!! i dont know if ill go higher than a certain height though because i dont know how high he can handle lol ill prolly go up to like 2'3 or 2'6:)

  • @TrailsEndDayz haha your welcome! I hate it when people are like that ughh haha for your next video can you do a chase me Charlie thing?

  • @peacebeauty101 ik its super annoying and im prolly gonna sound super stupid but whats chase me charlie lol? ill gladly do it if i know what it is lol

  • @peacebeauty101 THANK YOU!:)

  • Your saddle looks cozy what brand is it?

  • @Thehorsebabe99 lettia coolmax:)

  • 5. Like some pointed out before me, you didn't pull the saddle pads up so they weren't pressing down on the withers.

If you were doing a stage 1 exam for that, you probably would of failed for safety reasons.

  • @rach46773 everyone does it differently i think ive mentioned tht only a billion times i think its quite funny that you took valuable time out of your day to comment on my video on how i tack up horses. If your gonna hate on it dont watch it at all

  • @TrailsEndDayz it took me probably less than two minutes to even write my reply. I teach people basic horse care. I've done exams. If i'd of done that i'd of failed, and so would the people who i taught. At the end of the day, yes everyone tacks up differently. But if you're going to make a video trying to act like a little miss know-it-all and try to teach people how to tack up, do it properly and safely.

  • @rach46773 i teach people to! i mran who do you think taught me? myself? no my trainer taught me and she knows more than both of us. I work for a grand prix dressage rider. and i know yur not going to believe me but i do. and im not acting like miss know it all you are if your telling me how to. Im done talking about this.

  • @TrailsEndDayz I studied 3 years at an equine college. One of the tutors competes in eventing, one showjumping, the other Grand Prix Dressage and has worked for some very famous dressage riders. So i kind of know what i'm talking about. i'm guessing people in the US do a lot of things differently to the UK. But don't think you're better than everyone just coz you've been taught by a Grand Prix dressage rider. I have to, but i;m not posting videos trying to teach people am i...

  • @rach46773 i dont care if you know how! i did this on my opinion of how I do it and everyone but YOU agrees with me! Im done tlking about this im blocking you you are being very rude.

  • 4. You also dropped the reins on the floor. You or the horse, if moved, could of tripped. And you didn't check that the reins were level when doing them up on the martingale. You could of got them twisted.

If you're going to teach people how to tack up, you need to show them safely. I would never use the way you taught there. (fyi - i do teach people)

  • 3. The is 'lose' when you put the bridle you. You should of undone the leadrope, but left it over the bailing twine and taken it off, then put the headcollar around the horse's neck. And the cavesson, doesn't have to have 1 finger gaps. Cavesson nosebands are merely for show. If it has a flash then you'd have the one finger gap. The throatlash, you checked under the horses windpipe, with one hand, which could be a 1 finger gap. It's supposed to be a 4 finger gap from the cheek and the band.

  • 2. Girth is always done up on the off side (right hand side) of the horse first. Not the left.

  • 1. Girth strap should of stayed on top of the saddle. So you don't have to walk away from the horse with a lose saddle on it's back. If he spooks, the saddle won't be helping. You left the girth off for a long time and was faffing about with the martingale.. Which you should of unclipped the leadropes before pushing it up. If anything, the martingale should go on first. Before the saddle pad and saddle.

  • U forgot to pull the numnah up into the gullet of the saddle so it doesnt push down on the withers

  • i put the bridle on th same way as you :)

  • at the place where i ride the saddle, girth and saddle cloth are already in one piece haha it seems lots of people have different ways to put on saddles :)

  • you put on the bridle wrong you have to put the rains over their head and then take off the halter then you put one the bridle so they dont walk away

  • @luckeyhorseshoe25 some people do it differently. he didnt walk away did he? so i think i did it fine.

  • @luckeyhorseshoe25 I don't do it that way. :) People are different. Mk?? Mk. As long as you have the bit in its mouth and the horse doesn't walk away, it's fine. :)

  • What kind of saddle do you have, it looks really nice?

  • @ShowJumper1010 its a bates:) and it is i love it!

  • seems easy

  • @thesierramusic1 it is when you know how :) but getting the bit in the mouth is harder =_= especially when the horse doesn't want to co-operate XD

  • Your horse is one of two most beautiful hanoverians i've ever seen !!!!!

  • @MarsyChannel Thank you! <3

  • @TrailsEndDayz haha nothing ! I'm just telling the truth ! Orion is an awsome horse ! You're really lucky . . . I wish I could also have my own horse . . . !!!!!!!! :) I love them a lot !! :D I'm glad for u :)))))) <3
