  • Looks like a Besson 967 GS, I have the same and it's an instrument that was new around that period of time... Best euphonium I've touched so far.

  • Brilliant.

  • Superb!

  • imagine when he was in his prime.

  • At about 3:40 my heart starts to cry. My mum loved this part the most. And for me it's a symbol for her.

    Especcially after she died.

Ty Lyndon and the poster to of course

  • any idea what model euph he uses here?

  • Is's a besson sovereign .looks like a 967 . dunno what the thing on the bell under the mouthpipe is???

  • @aledcacen almost looks like some sort of modified post for a lyre...

  • @aledcacen i know on the lead pipe is reads "BESSON"

  • @aledcacen looks to me like a lyre holder

  • @aledcacen I think that it might be a lyre box...

  • @aledcacen Holds a lyer

  • @aledcacen looks like another hook for a lyre

  • Mamma mia che mostroooo xD grandeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Lyndon Baglin has been one of my favorite euphoniumists in the world, ever since I first heard him play. Wonderful style and sound, and a clever use of alternate fingerings in this video!

  • his tone!!!!!!

  • the master - not to be bettered, so consistent

  • the master - not to be bettered, so consistant

  • give me a break i have seen better

  • @ianspc no proof no case bud! :)

  • Impressionante,maravilhosa apresentação do solista de Euphonium e toda a Orquestra,equilíbrio acústico,dinâmica e total sensibilidade artistica!!! Paulo - Campinas-SP-Brazil

  • isnt it richard evans conducting???

  • holy crap! and we thought it was difficult on trumpet...

  • Thank you Lyndon, you're one of thebest players with Steven Mead, Robert and David Childs. Greetz from Holland

  • that commentator has the best speech impediment ever! amazing performance too

  • Wule Bwitania, Bwilliant indeed

  • And which recording is that.....?

  • anybody got any ideas as to what he's got soldered on to the bell of his instrument??

  • A bike rack.

  • i had no idea also until i realized its just a reflection

  • @catto09 I think it's a pivoting point for an old trigger which he took off, the type that just moved the first tuning slide.

  • Remarkable performance from a true virtouso of the euphonium.

  • Not bad. He was using every trick finger possible in the introduction though! He played with our band for the regionals this year and split most of the notes :( Still a good player though.

  • Saucer of milk for table 1 please!

  • Played with Lyndon in Cory and with his Best of Brass ,one of the best euph players ever.Eagerly awaiting your recording COULIO.

  • Good luck :D:D

  • What a tallent!!! Brilliant performance!

  • well played sir.

  • wow!!!

  • Superb

  • This is comparable to Peter Graham's arrangement of this song for solo euphonium

  • For such a great player, its interesting to see him using both his middle and ring fingers to depress his second valve at some points.

  • He doesn't use his 4th valve much:P

  • nah, probably learned on a 3 valved euph initially and that stuck with him

  • amazing

  • Congratulations to the Cory Band on 3rd place at the British Open Brass Band Championships (Symphony Hall, Birmingham) today. I was pleased to be there and hear some great music, thanks.

  • Who won and who came second?

  • Foden's won the British Open Brass Band Championships and Grimethorpe Colliery came second.

  • With regards to the triple tounging Dave Thomas, the principal cornet at the stanshawe band once told Lyndon "that it's easier to bluff on the euphonium." I'm told that Lyndon was "not amused!!!"

  • I believe that live the tripletunging would sound clearer, my experience with old recording equipment with euphonium, makes tunging unclear... Only my view of that case though.

  • that was immaculate!

  • The first thing my teacher would say to him is "you're moving around too much". And my teacher would be wrong.

That's all he said to me after recitals. It's annoying when that's all your teacher has to say about your playing.

  • Than i wonder how that possibly could be a mistake, just look at Steven Mead and David Thornton. I've seen they move nearly 3 meters while playing:P

  • Oh, I'm not saying that Lydon is wrong, nor Mead nor Thornton -- I'm saying my teacher would be wrong for saying that you shouldn't move when you play.

  • I was acctually thinking of your teacher's thought about not moving:P

  • Ahh ok! I agree with you, then!

  • Wow... Very good! Interesting watching old videos like these as this is proper "old skool" - not fancy triggers etc just a guy and a euphonium! Ace!

  • well a few slips but what a professional player with such a good sounds

  • Its Brian Howard conducting but I dont know when.

  • Yes it is Brian Howard and it was 1989 I think. I was on the opposite chair to Lyndon :)

  • think its brian howard conducting late 80's early 90's ???

  • Thanks for vid. again. If you have more, please post it.

  • Wow this guy is awesome he has a great sound and amazing technique
