It is about virtua fighter. The game should be played with an arcade-stick anyway to achieve its full potential. I agree xbox-controller is crap for fighting-games, it is just not the point, it is just about appropriate input-device, both consoles are strong enough to handle the game.

If you ignore some fighting-games and few others and watch only for commercial titles, then there is no sense to buy whether 360 or ps3 at all. Games havbeen garbage so far. 360 sales even more than ps3 in Japan(cuz mor rpgs). If your mentioned problems would be regular then it would not be able to sale that much. Probably and hopefully they solved the heatandnoise problems now. But VF plays very well on my 360.

I think button-mashing will lead you here more to success than in tekken. The reason is that the gameplay is faster and the block is more complicated. A noob cares less about blocking, just needs to be aggressive and vary between throws and middle attacks and even advanced players will be in big trouble.

That is up to personal choice, for example I like DOA4 better because it has interactive stages some realistic effects while it still manages to stay unrealistic without going over board on the special move while on the other hand VF5 is mostly based on realism, strategy style fighting, and long loading screens with little to no unrealistic effects in the game. Both have great online and offline but it's really up to personal choice. I suggest rent them both first and see which one you like.

Although I don't agree with what you are saying I still must say that VF5 is a pretty good game if you are not a button masher. In my opinion DOA4 is just better than VF5 because of the way you can interact with the levels and how there isn't about 100 loading screens, but VF5 does have character customization.

Maybe they should combine them together and make the best fighting game ever.

While i like both games i am never gonna agree with anyone who likes dead or alive better because doa is to button mashey compared with virtua fighter. how ever i would be down with a cross over game espcally if there was an option to make the game play like which ever series you prefure. myslef i would make it play like virtua fighter. if you botton mash in virtua fighter you are likely to lose but if you botton mash in doa you actually have a good chance of winning.

I would have to agree on the button mashing part but you have to admit some times it's fun to just button mash. DOA4 balances the button mashers and people who use combos out by having counters that do damage almost forcing you to learn the combos if you want to win.

well the countering is much more intricate in doa4 and each fighter has advantages and disadvantages(e.g. Bass is slow but strong kasumi is fast but definately weaker than bass)

The countering is a little easy in DOA for my taste. I'm also not a fan of the character damage scale. 120 pnd girl does as much damage as 350pnd Bass and she's 3 times faster. Meh

It is common knowledge that Virtua Fighter is the alternative for the hardcore players. Tekken is more easy to get into.

I prefer Soul Calibur though. Not as hardcore as VF, but much more awesome character than all other fighters out there... except maybe for Guilty Gear. I mean, just look at Voldo, Nightmare or Astaroth! XD
