  • i was weary about this video when i saw him butcher (not a comment) the steaks. i figured oh well not everyone has a delicate hand. a few seconds later he was making some sauce with a ketchup and yellow mustard base. i yelled "NO. NO." and stopped the video.

  • I followed this recipe yesterday and my steaks came out perfect, the sauce was amazing.

  • Step 1- season steak 1:4 ratio of salt to pepper. Preheat oven to 350

    Step 2- gather 1/4 stick butter, fresh thyme, butter paper.

    Step 3- place steak fat side down on medium low heat. Allow fat to render completely off.

    Step 4- turn steak, heat to medium high. Allow both sides to create even beautiful maillard reaction(caramalization).

    Step 5- wrap steak in butter paper. Place in oven and cook for 5-7 minutes.

    Step 6- take pan out of oven and add thyme on top of steak. Add butter to fat and t

Also, when you only cook a steak 60 seconds on eat side that large thick piece of fat would not cook fast enough leaving you with raw thick chewy fat grossness... thats what you want to eat??   • This is an amazing Greek dish but I make mine slightly different, with a longer cooking time, some wine instead of the wine vinegar and a more concentrated tomato liquid. I cook mine on a very low heat for at least 2 hours - sometimes more, depending on the quantity and quality of the meat :)

I think this would be a great recipe for a less precious cut than New York Strip Loin, which if it's raised/aged right should already be tender. Pound a chuck eye or round steak into submission to make it more tender, now that's a great idea that I will try. Mmmmmm.

  • No one can grill like Americans. Asians can season beef well, but most styles tend to overcook it unless its a rare Japanese dish. The steak prepared in the video was actually more of a french style with the balsamic and butter reduction sauce.

  • This recipe is by far the best steak sandwich i have had. To make this sandwich even better, try frying up some peppers, onions and mushrooms along with some provolone cheese. I also used Rib-eye which works wonderfull, especially when you cut the steaks into length-wise strips. Last but not least...Toast Your Roll!!!!

  • and the bit he cuts off isn't really fat... it's like a strip of gristle which isn't going to add to the flavour. this type of cut is marbled enough already, anyways, and if you pound it as much as he does, it should be very tender.
