THANK U SO MUCH for the videos. I bought a 31Piece "MAC" lot of pigments off EBAY & just recieved them in the mail. i could tell that something didnt seem right so started to do research.

i have seen a few people have turned their purchases in that were Fake to EBAY and they got their money back.

Im not sure how to report this becuz im new to EBAY so if someone could please help me out i would greatly appreciate. i paid ALOT for these and its a disappointment to find out they are fakes!!! =(

i wouldnt but thats just me ya dont know whats in them because the info leaflet you get with them is a copy of macs leaflet so the list of ingredients is whats in real mac and not the fakes you have

To spot fake mack brushes:

first off ANY mac makeup [mainly eye shadows] or "brush sets" that come with or show a picture of a sponge tip brush is 100% fake. MAC does NOT sell any sponge tip brushes nor do any of their products have them. also, if "MAC" is etched into the handle of the brush in teal or any other color, it's fake. right at the base of the bristles should be silver metal. again, any brush that doesnt have this metal part is hands down fake.

MAC will be written towards the top 1 1/2 inches of the brush NOT in the center---right at the base of the metal segment. i can't really explain any more, lol but i would go directly through MAC for any cosmetic and brush that you purchase. if you still insist on trying ebay, do as debstan1 says [which i completely agree with] and ask for lots of specific pictures and maybe go onto the MAC website and compare what you see!

MAC brushes are NOT made from Japan. You can feel the dents of where its made from if its super dent its fake. Also, the numbers on there should be silver. Lastly, the base has to strong. It can not be a brush where you can press your pinky finger in right through.

ALL my MAC brushes are from mac store and they ALL have JAPAN engraved into them so sorry you are incorrect on that point

Hello. I just bought a 187 MAC brush from a MAC store and on the brush it does clearly say Japan. It is not silver like the number and MAC, but it is indented in the bottom of the brush.

The fake MAC pigment jar also has more glass surrounding the product than the real one.

omg thank you for this vid! i almost spent $36 on a fake mac 12 cream color palette like the one in your vid, but LUCKILY i was outbid! sucks for the winner though, i'm glad i questioned the sponge applicator and whether they ever sold a cream palette.

Thanks so much for posting this! It's been a great help. I don't live near a Myer store here in Australia (I used to though, about 5 years ago), so unless I buy online I can't get MAC products. Ebay looks so tempting when you see all the pigments at such cheap prices, it's no wonder a lot of people get trapped. I haven't purchased any online yet, but I'm going to be a lot more cautious when I do buy MAC on ebay :).

Hi Debstan1, just watched your video on fake MAC - great! Can you help I wonder? The palette that you show on your video,the Cream Palette with a green back-drop to the photo (photo from auction site), can you tell me what gives it away as a fake? hi yes because mac have never launched a cream palette also the sponge applicator that is seen , mac palettes ALWAYS come with brushes :)

also genuine mac palettes always include shade names of the eyeshadows included in the palette if their are no shade names or just numbers its a fake :)

this is great thanx hun...i have also seen that on another video (aussiecoolgirl) that she mentions the font on the boxes big give away!!! The fake boxes have large font and is spread all over, the MAC ones have small font in the bottom left corner...also with the barcodes..genuine MAC have sticker barcodes and fakes are actually printed on the box!!

PPl argue about the not being any diff with the payoff but the fact ppl are ripping us off with the fakes!!! ARGH

One thing I've noticed about some people buying fake is that here in the US Make doesn't sell the sponge? brush appilcators with the shadows and many of my friends told me how I was "ripped off" from not getting it with them, when in fact they are the ones who don't have the true MACs. I buy all of mine at Macys so I don't get a fake. Make sure to include this note. MAC single shadows come with no applicators.

hiya i have used them they are ok on their own, but they dont blend well with other colours also if you are sensetive to any ingredients be carefull because the information about ingredients is just a copy of macs i think ,so may not be whats actually in them :)

Another thing is that sometimes sellers will sell fakes with real names put on the wrong product even, like, they will put the real name of a pigment on a shadow and the other way around. And NEVER buy brushes of eBay.

heya possibly i cant comment because i haven't got any lancome so wouldn't know a fake if i saw one i know there are some fake smashbox on ebay and fake bobbi brown brushes :)there is a lot of counterfiet mac because its popular on ebay and the fakers know people will pay big bucks for it :(

obviously you will get genuine mac from hong kong if it has a genuine shade name sticker on the box and shade name on the actual lipgloss its fine but i do know that hong kong is one of the main countrys that mass produce fake high end cosmetics just look out for the shade name stickers thats the main give away :)

I think I may of bought a fake lipglass because it came from Hong Kong. But it does have the sticker on the bottom.
