I agree I am a Jet Li fan, but Mark Dacascos is very underrated marital artist...but unfortunately this day & age martial arts doesn't have the same popularity it once had with the exception of M.M.A but my hope and prayer is one day it will be once again given the same vitality it once had in the 70's

@ILLRICARDO I dont recall talking ill about Donnie Yen. My disappointment about this fight is all I was saying. There is video of both Jet Li and Mark before they hit the big screen, showing their abilities, no strings attached. You have to agree that Jet Li movies are flashier and more CG based, before CG a lot of these films used strings, to make these guys seem bigger than life.
@kenjiro2004 when i heard mark was fighting jet li in a movie... i was expecting an epic fight....what i got was the biggest dissapoinment of my life..would have expected better from 2 icons fighting..it not the wire works.. it was just the way the fight was badly executed..
..at being said... there are other martial artist who dont use wire works and do deliver amazing fights... for eg scot adkins( undisputed2 and undisputed 3)...also michael jai white(blood and bone, undisputed 2)

Mark could have done some Capeira and made it look like he was trying, lol. So far Jet Li has beaten all of the greats except Jackie Chan, I think thats some bullshit.

Cradle to the Grave was a movie and a bad one at that' because of Jet being the lead character. If Mark would've been the star would've been better he has better screne appeal. Jet is boring in all his movie his fight scenes on a wire are lame which he has to use again in that fight where as Mark didn't.

Mark has fought in over 200 real life matches by the time he was 18 been doing Martial Arts since he was 4 and he now fights smarter not harder goes with the territory of getting older.
I'd take Mark over Lee bigger stronger and faster better natural athlete also skilled in more techniques Jet has to be able to get close to his opponent for his style to work Mark can hit from a distance winner Mark. Also Mark uses his own natural ability in his fight scenes where as Jet uses wires.
mark is a great super fighter and actor, but so is Jet Li, hard to compare the 2, i do beleive i would give the win to Jet Li, BUT this video was very unfair to Jet Li, so many kick ass scenes from other movies you could have chose from

I don't think Jet li can ever beat the skills Mark Dacascos put in Drive ! His skills and stunts were like so realistic. Jet li's skills put on in american films are so fake. Especially in Romeo must die. You can clearly see he is being wired blatenly half the times. The only film his skills ever looked real was in Lethal Weapon 4.

Unleashed and Lethal weapon 4 were mabey the only films Jet li's moves looked as good as Mark Dacascos. No wires were used as well as special effects.

He has been in several movie but all are low budget or straight to videos. The only movies that were sucessfull are Only the strong, Crying Freeman and most all all -DRIVE !

Mark starring in Cradle 2 marked his first appearance in a theatrical release in years since the release of Drive. Its funny , that they hardly even mentiond him in the film. You know whats funny is that jet li on his website asked the fans who they wanted to see him fight in his next movie and people voted mark. Also in a real fight why compare? I agree cadle 2 the crave was incredibly dissapointing but in a 1-1 actaul fight you honesntly think marks knowlegde of multiple fighting styles would help him? Jet is considered great at wushu and mark is average at capoiera and i know hes good at kung fu. Also ive seen both live and jet has fater hand speed and quicker kicks so im not sure what your trying to say. Also who cares if you have wires or not as long as it looks good on the big picture.

Keith cook was the teacher in king of the kickboxers and has been alot movies where he like the backround guy with no lines but is in alot of scenes. Also tko with robin shou is ok but look at ninja assasin coming out. Theres very little martial art movies coming out with actual asian people in it. Like micheal jay white. Hes an awesome fighter but other then spawn you havent seen him even though hes done a ton of movies.
Yes I did like Mortal Komabt, and it is the best film based game currently in the world. Kieth has been in numreous films with little screen time and witthout a major role. He appared in the MK films, with little screen time as you may know.
Also by the way i checked cause marks from hawii and i never heard of mark doing muay thai so i checked and he did karate comps and kung fu. Erne reyes jr has done some muay thai fights but hes a tkd style of fighter. Also my point about styles is something jackie chan said. Jackie said he did 10years southern style kung fu and after that he spent some time doing northern. And going around the wrold he learned akido,tkd,karate and judo and he said it doesnt matter cause there all the same.

A lot of you guys say Mark is better than Jet Li and blah blah..First of all this video didn't do both of the justice at all. Jet li, has starred in non wire work roles in his fight choreograph but neither of these movies were presented here. Besides, the person who made this video only showed one of Mark's film, Drive, which is my regard is his best role. The one who is technically better is Jet li not Mark..and it all boils down to the fight choreographer not the actors.
The first fight with mark isn't even the best fight scene in "drive" the one with masaya kato at the end is sick. The second fight with jet li in "once upon a time in china" is classic hong kong foouey, oh, i spoke 2 soon 3rd fight is the mark/kato fight, 4th is li in "romeo must die" 5th fight drive again and is my favorite fight in the whole movie the 6th and final fight is mark in "only the strong". I always wanted to see the 2 battle it out better then it was done in cradle of crap. dmx FTL
When it comes right down to it Mark is the better regardless of certificates Whats a black belt good for? Holding up ur pants Jet has too muh wire work in his films, a hard punch calls for wire work. Mark may not have been in as many widely known films as Jet or as successful but if it came down to it mark would kick jet butt because he has more muscle mass height but speed is equal. Hence y they didn't fight in Cradle to the Grave the difference would be too noticeable and it was a Jet Li movie

Mark is better that Jet Li because Jet relies to heavily on wire for his fight scenes. Mark does most of his own stunts, I think Jet may do most of his own, but Mark at least looks real, and his fight scenes are done mostly on the ground not midair, and the moves are more realistic. Jet relies so much on the camera doing the work for him.

Mark is not a "master" of WuShu, I agree, he just started studying the MA about 2 years ago because that is the style that most movie MA movie makers were looking for. Mark is a 4th degree in his MA, but probably higher because he's not tested to go further. He's not interested in the degrees, but in the art itself.

jet li is stronger than mark. in only the strong, mark had the capoeira moves down, but not as fluidly as someone who took capoeira as a first martial art. instead of relying on just a leg, hip or arm for power, marks movements require all body parts for power. mark is very fast and precise, but his power remains on one medium setting. jet li isnt afraid to mess up his hair. jet li's movements are natural, flowing, water flows or crashes. mark moves like cgi.
jet li studies wushu which is useless in a fight. You need to watch drive, and see gymnastics by mark, also he was ripped back in the day, wathc his movies. Jet li is a skinny small dude who never wears wifebeaters in the movies. Jet li is a joke, his fight scenes look as a fake as they can be! "Cradle to the Grave" in the cage, Romeo must die was full of it too.

jet li stunts are fake, when mark is more about gymnastics. Cradle to the grave, romeo must die, unleashed are all fake stunts, and it looks like his punches and kick are effortless, much bigger dudes are flying off of him, when marks fights are much more intense, and most gymnastics are real.
they both were just as good in their prime time..now they are old..and dont forget jet represented his country and was a 7 time wushu champ..im sure he can fight..i mean hes just making movies for entertainment purposes..if u watch his older movies like fist of legend he showed crazy martial art movements with no strings. @tubaSHANK Your correct but Jet doesn't really always use wires. There was Letheal weapon 4, Kiss of the Dragan, and Danny the dog where Jet did not use them and still performed well. I don't think Jet li can ever beat the skills Mark Dacascos put in Drive ! His skills and stunts were like so realistic. Jet li's skills put on in american films are so fake. Especially in Romeo must die. You can clearly see he is being wired blatenly half the times. The only film his skills ever looked real was in Lethal Weapon 4.

Unleashed and Lethal weapon 4 were mabey the only films Jet li's moves looked as good as Mark Dacascos. No wires were used as well as special effects.
I did'nt like the performance Jet put on Kiss of the Dragan. It was a good movie, I just think Jet Li could have done better with his skills. It was just some randon punches and kicks.

Personally, I think Mark Dacascos is THE MOST underrated Martial Artist/Actor EVER. Why the frick is Hollywood putting him in a bunch of low budget movies nowadays?? He should be in that new upcoming Tekken Movie or King of the Fighters or something...

You know whats funny is that jet li on his website asked the fans who they wanted to see him fight in his next movie and people voted mark. Also in a real fight why compare? Jet li from the age of 8 was a sensation cause of his unbelievable speed and technique and mark actually fought in comps and has amazing skills in capoeria and kung fu. I agree cadle 2 the crave was incredibly dissapointing but in a 1-1 actaul fight you honesntly think marks knowlegde of multiple fighting styles would help him? Jet is considered great at wushu and mark is average at capoiera and i know hes good at kung fu. Also ive seen both live and jet has fater hand speed and quicker kicks so im not sure what your trying to say. Also who cares if you have wires or not as long as it looks good on the big picture.

Keith cook was the teacher in king of the kickboxers and has been alot movies where he like the backround guy with no lines but is in alot of scenes. Also tko with robin shou is ok but look at ninja assasin coming out. Theres very little martial art movies coming out with actual asian people in it. Like micheal jay white. Yes I did like Mortal Komabt, and it is the best film based game currently in the world. Kieth has been in numreous films with little screen time and witthout a major role. He appared in the MK films, with little screen time as you may know.

Also by the way i checked cause marks from hawii and i never heard of mark doing muay thai so i checked and he did karate comps and kung fu. Erne reyes jr has done some muay thai fights but hes a tkd style of fighter. Also my point about styles is something jackie chan said. Jackie said he did 10years southern style kung fu and after that he spent some time doing northern. And going around the wrold he learned akido,tkd,karate and judo and he said it doesnt matter cause there all the same.

A lot of you guys say Mark is better than Jet Li and blah blah..First of all this video didn't do both of the justice at all. Jet li, has starred in non wire work roles in his fight choreograph but neither of these movies were presented here. Besides, the person who made this video only showed one of Mark's film, Drive, which is my regard is his best role. The one who is technically better is Jet li not Mark..and it all boils down to the fight choreographer not the actors.

The first fight with mark isn't even the best fight scene in "drive" the one with masaya kato at the end is sick. The second fight with jet li in "once upon a time in china" is classic hong kong foouey, oh, i spoke 2 soon 3rd fight is the mark/kato fight, 4th is li in "romeo must die" 5th fight drive again and is my favorite fight in the whole movie the 6th and final fight is mark in "only the strong". When it comes right down to it Mark is the better regardless of certificates Whats a black belt good for? Holding up ur pants Jet has too muh wire work in his films, a hard punch calls for wire work. Mark may not have been in as many widely known films as Jet or as successful but if it came down to it mark would kick jet butt because he has more muscle mass height but speed is equal. Hence y they didn't fight in Cradle to the Grave the difference would be too noticeable and it was a Jet Li movie

Mark is better that Jet Li because Jet relies to heavily on wire for his fight scenes. Mark does most of his own stunts, I think Jet may do most of his own, but Mark at least looks real, and his fight scenes are done mostly on the ground not midair, and the moves are more realistic. Jet relies so much on the camera doing the work for him.

Mark is not a "master" of WuShu, I agree, he just started studying the MA about 2 years ago because that is the style that most movie MA movie makers were looking for. Mark is a 4th degree in his MA, but probably higher because he's not tested to go further. He's not interested in the degrees, but in the art itself.
Yes, Jet Li was a Master when he first started movies. And may I remind you WHERE he started. In a movie with Mel Gibson, in Mel's most watched charater movies.

jet li is stronger than mark. in only the strong, mark had the capoeira moves down, but not as fluidly as someone who took capoeira as a first martial art. instead of relying on just a leg, hip or arm for power, marks movements require all body parts for power. mark is very fast and precise, but his power remains on one medium setting. jet li isnt afraid to mess up his hair. jet li's movements are natural, flowing, water flows or crashes. mark moves like cgi.

ok, jet li knows more than wu shu and is not a joke. both were fit back in the day, granted mark was more ripped than jet was. both are skinny small dudes. is a real fight as clean as point sparring? jet is not the type who is afraid of looking bad and winning. if mark doesnt look good, then he wont want to win. gymnastics, wu shu, same. i dont know what movies you saw, but jet has thrown more powerful looking hits than mark has. if they trained for a fight, jet would be victorious.

@lokeradenwhs, I`m afraid u`re totally wrong on that part. In real life, they are friends. Here, in this movie, Jet Li (Su)was "the good guy" - that`s the reason he beats Mark! Or should I say "Ling" ?
Oh, and btw - did you know that acting/playing/portraying a negative character is way HARDER than a positive one? Requires talent. Mark has talent, beside his amazing martial arts abilities. He won his first tournament when he was 8. He started to practice when he was 4.
