Aw... I was hoping this video would have a happy ending with the singer and the girl from Take On Me, since this was a trilogy set, apparently. Oh, well. Good song anyway. Great vocals.
great song. great video. great vocals by morten. this version of the song is far more busy than that of the album version. play them both to compare. awesome!
After seeing which age group this video is most popular with, I feel like such an outcast only being a 19 year old! I'm okay with this knowing I'm one of the few people in my age group to find this treasure.
What a voice! Not many have handled those highnotes in popmusic for sure.. Looking forward for their apperance at the Memorial Service. "Train of thoughts" goes to the victims today.
I never thought I would be an adult contemporary one day :)
I like this song since 1985!!!!!!! The lyrics are still interesting and very well written and Freud appears on the video ;) I'm proud of being fan of A-ha :) The video is really beautiful. Thanks for posting this.
I only knew the single "Take On Me" fom the a-ha album HHAL, but now I am looking forward to listen to the rest of the album and I guess this is a good one, according to those singles. "Train of Thoughts" is an okay song, I sort of like it. But it is not a hit, not at all.
I only said it is not a hit today, obviously. And I have never heard of this song before. Only a couple of other songs, which people name "the legacy of aha". You should not have freaked out, I am not saying it is not beautiful.
@MusicalCitty Really????? what contry r u from as this album as the singles off of it were big hits, take on me,sun always shines on tv,hunting hight and low, train of thought
Interesting how the Rotoscoping Effect in this video was actually done before the Take On Me Video.
I guess that explains the slightly more older look to the Drawings. Still, It always proves effective when a-ha used it. When I heard this song, I couldn't believe that Morten could do a voice like this compared to his Falsetto in Take On Me. The Hunting High and Low Album is one of my all time Favorites! So are others like Stay On These Roads and Scoundrel Days.
Really movin'... Listening A-Ha always takes me back to '85 that I was a teenager in Korea. I, like many other Korean teenagers, have been into American & British pop artists then. But it was really shock to me that this band from Norway took No.1 of Billboard Single Chart with 'Take On Me', and their sound could be fantastic like this. I have the most of their regular albums, and I think "Hunting High & Low" is one of their true materpieces. Real pride of Norway!
A lot of youngsters here would have liked to be a teen throughout the 80ies.
Well, when they find out that they would have had to cope without a mobile phone, no world wide web, and maybe only have one TV-channel, they will all change their minds:)
@saganini not realy back in the 80's u culd go out at whatever time of night u wanted 2 my mam knew 2 tell me and besides the music fashion and everything them days were so much better than these days
Train of thought was always one of my favourite A-ha tracks......brilliant song and the lyrics were the usual slightly off the wall....forwards, backwards, twisted round !!!
Um dos melhores vocalistas de todos os tempos, sem me esquecer também do vocalista (RiP) do Inxs...Cresci ouvindo a-ha entre outras magníficas bandas, salve a geração anos 80!
A great band who I am missing terribly, after their final concert in early December. Train of Thought is probably my favourite A-ha track. Certainly thier most underrated one anyhow.
@denisanodenisen ppl saying they wished they were born in the 80's to enjoy this music, you really needed to be born in the 70's to enjoy it. I was born in 75 so was the perfect age to enjoy the 80's , 5 in 1980 15 by 1990 and i bought my first vinyls when i was 6 in 1981 lol
@michaelmyers75 Same here. I was born in February 1975. I remember watching when Hills Department store took down all the vinyl to put up CD racks. First time I had ever seen a CD disk. Think that was 1986 that happened.
@denisanodenisen I was born in 1984!!! How lucky was I? I guess it is true, the decade you were born in, you tend to love that music the most, and it's definitely 80s music for me that I love the most!
Excellent grahics animation, God bless that talent!

I lost track on how many times I felt like I was living some of the lines from this song (i.e. "And his thoughts are full of strangers
Corridors of inked lights
And his mind once full of reason
Now there's more than meets the eye
Oh, a stranger's face he carries with him.")
