  • what camera has a 1.3 crop?

  • very good blur

  • lol, thought it was a rpg xD

  • That Bokeh is NICEE!

  • must feel weird to mount a camera to a camera to a tripod.

  • dude, i think your 5D sensor's a little bit dirty

  • @dionisiuskristal hopefully he cleaned it off

  • bazooka lens

  • stop fucking rapid firing it... pick a moment and shoot. or just shoot video if your that indecisive

  • @Zepppster its usefull for taking that perfect shot when there's lots of action, and more chance theres a good non motion blurred pic (when not using is). Camera's give us that option nowadays, so why not use it instead of leaving that perfect shot to sheer luck?

  • @snuurtje its not sheer luck. Its about knowing the moment, pre-visualization, etc. Having that capability is extremely nice, especially for action shots. However, when shooting soccer practice or even a professional game, its not really needed IMO.

  • @Zepppster I disagree, for instance a soccer match, were u want to shoot the moment were 2 players running forward towards you battle over the ball. You rapid fire them, and suddenly one of them elbows the other in the nose. You cant anticipate that, but have caught it, aswell as the moment before that were there still battling over the ball, instead of using foul tactics.

  • Townsville, question mark

  • Looks and sounds like a machine gun :b

  • /watch?v=4XWRDNPsnE8

  • why do they gotta color the lens to look so ugly make it black or white not piss white

  • lensa nya jelek. kameranya aja yang bagus... woo dhesso.

  • nice guy

  • I heard you like cameras so we put a camera on your camera

  • Jesus H. Motordriving Chist! you've got one hell of a trigger finger mate!

  • this is a biggggg daddy lens.

  • this is a biggggg daddy lens.

  • How come do you have this outstanding shutter fps with a 5d mkII ?

  • Not really impressed by the bokeh on these lenses.

  • @Voxnulla - do you even know what bokeh is and how it is created or are you just trollling?

  • @mvubu1234 Not trolling at all. I would also advice you not to start a senseless dick measuring contest on the theories and practice of optic formulae with me. Firstly, it is a fallacious debating technique and secondly you'll loose. So you can assume I know enough about bokeh, DOF, aperture settings, aberration and lens types to make a educated observation on these matters. You may agree, disagree or try to persuade me to see things your way.

  • i wonder how hard it is to get rightly focused images at 400mm f2.8 while shooting sports

  • @thephpjo - at 50 yards with a pro body, not hard at all.

  • dat bokehhhhhhh

  • does the lense make the fram rate faster than with other lenses?

  • seems to EOS 1D Mk IV... I can hear from the burst continous shoot...

  • dude . waaay to many photos .

  • That ain't photography. Geez mate - pick your moment and understand your moment and then fire off a shot. :-S

  • why do you take so many shots?

  • You take way too many photos. How long must it take to sort through 300 almost identical images?

  • @eyesonhiro i'm pretty sure it's just an imovie thing

  • love this lens, actually rented it...what mode do you use to shoot your sports?

  • DO you enjoy making people cry or what?

  • When shooting action sports should I shoot on one shot focus or servo? I have a 7D

  • @Sp1k3y1 Use servo but only have one AF point selected. Having all (19 from memory?) selected can cause focus on undesired players. If you want to lead a player try selecting one to the left or right and keeping that point on the player you wish to shoot. It means you'll only be able to shoot players moving in one direction at a time but it gives more consistent results and if you practice switching AF points a few times you'll be able to do it quickly when play changes direction.

  • @razorg8 oh! right and it says so

  • Comment removed

  • wtf how fast can 5D mk II shoot? that sounds like 10fps, wtf!!!

  • @iwishforlove2 his 5d is filming the video not taking the pictures

  • Spending money on that lens requires the photographer makes some BANK! Or it's just an expensive hobby

  • What format to export the video did you use?

  • this thing kills the ART in photography

  • did you just mount a camera to a camera, to a lens then to a telephoto lens stand?

  • really REALLY creative video. I love the fact that it felt like you were using the gear much like how motorcycle riders with Gopro helmets do with their equipment.

  • Comment removed

  • I can't help to notice that you have A LOT of dirt on your sensor, and the epic porno music

  • makes the 5d look like an accessory...

  • that is one hell of a lens! I would eat my own shit then poop it out and eat it agian for this lens!

  • @ra81haxa crazy sick....

  • lucky bastard =p

  • Youz a pro stalker

  • Why'd you have it it in drive mode when you could have gotten the same shot in single burst?

  • Wait. ur description says that 400mm on a 1.3x crop frame DSLR = 530 on a full frame? Its suppose to be the other way around right? If u mount 400mm on a full frame it'll be around 308mm. I might not be right, but i'm kinda sure ur description's wrong :/

  • @Brotherh00d It is a 400mm IN FULL FRAME, but the DSLR he's been using has a 1.3x crop factor (the Canon EOS 1D Mark III), which would make 400x1.3=520mm in the 1.3x crop factor camera he used. I hope you understand now :)

  • moter driving.....tisk tisk :(

  • Novak Djokovic and Tony Hawk casually practicing football

  • I thought we were going to gun the players down...

  • my god the shutter sounds like a machine gun

  • how is the video camera connected to the monopod?

  • How do you unlock this gun in COD?

  • can u zoom with it or it's just fixed zoom !??!! sorry for the question if it seemed stupid to u !!

  • @euyoooo It's a 400mm telephoto, no zoom

  • @euyoooo Zoom in the legs :)

  • this looks like a huge gun from a first person shooter game.

  • Wow that thing sounds super fast!!!!

  • whoa, nice dude. I'm considering the 100-400 myself but this lens would definitely be an awesome choice. How do you like the the prime fixation aspect of the lens?

  • @IntensePizza I'd rather a 100-400 2.8 lens but sadly, that isn't an option. So, fixed 400mm is the only real option for sport photographers

  • try taking that many shoots on film? you not taking that fast an action, why so many shoots?

  • Nice video !! It took me a "pauze" moment to find the house in the mountains :)

  • 0:56 stop it !!! im getting sick...

  • Please stop rotating the camera on the tripod cuz it makes me dizzy!

  • How can i become a photographer in the A-League?

  • @mattandhisnikon try get a job with the newspaper in your area say the Courier Mail if you lived in Brisbane. Go to the games take some nice shots, get paid, have fun and a free match to watch.

  • Damn, clean your lens >:( :D

  • is this 2.8 or f4

  • @barebasicphotos 2.8L IS USM

  • nice i envy it

  • The 1D sounds like a minigun.

  • haha i can see hairs on the sensor

  • I can't seem to find videos of the 400m f5.6, but is it around the same size as this 2.8 ???

  • @PhelpsPhotos the 400 f5.6 is +- 1-1.5 kilo and as small barreled as a 70-200mm f4.

de 400 f2.8 is a whopping 5-6kg and nearly 0.5meter high. with hood even larger...

  • @PhelpsPhotos No, the 5.6 is a LOT smaller

  • @CameronLairdPhoto what is the difference between f5.6 and 2.8 in terms of focal length?

Also you said this has no zoom so is every photo the same focal length?

  • farr the firing burst... is giving me an orgaism nah just Jizz my pants. Sounds sOO SEXY !

  • holy shit thats what you call a lens lol

    kind regards

  • Porn music..

  • The burst sounded alot faster than a 5D.

  • @jeffrelee The camera with the lens on is a 1D MkIII and the video is recorded by a 5D MkII

  • @jeffrelee

Yeah, I was going to say, "5D my ass!"

  • A MONSTER

  • Very LOOONG movie about NOTHING!! :(((

  • WOW got a bit dizzy there!

  • Holy shit. Is that a fucking telescope?! Use that for some astrophotography!

  • wow nice lans pls give me HAHAHA

  • wow nice lans

  • No God :(

  • wicked!!

  • looks like a rocket launcer in a video game

  • do you have insurance? I would be too scared of the ball hitting my camera to come even close to the field lol xD

  • hey man can you please recommend a starter camera for me?

  • @trakex229 it all depends on what you want to shoot. If you want speed without the price you can go a 7D, but keep in mind it is a cropped sensor. If you want to go with something a little less check out the 550D. Fantastic starter camera and will let you experiment with photo and HD Vids. Or you can cross to the dark side and check out some of the Nikon's like the D90, or D7000.

There really is no exact recommendation for you unfortunately, but remember to try before you buy!

  • @Gcollie3810 Canon's 1D series is also a cropped sensor. Just not as cropped. (APS-h vs APS-c).

  • @stubones Canon 1D series' sensor may not quite be that of a 35mm but it is not deemed as cropped due to the EF lense as a standard. An EF lens on a 1D series body will be at a 1:1 ratio, hence the coined term 'full frame'. An EF lens on a 'cropped frame' body (7D, 550D etc) is subject to a crop factor. Hence the EF-S lens creation (specified for cropped sensors). To expand if you use an FD lens from a 35mm you will be subject to a small crop factor, but a 1D is still be considered 'full frame'.

  • @Gcollie3810 With a sensor that is only 66.45% of the surface area of a 35mm sensor, the 1D series is anything but full frame. It is a professional camera body, but with a crop factor of 1:1.3 it not full frame. The only Canon bodies that are FF are the 1DS and 5D series.

  • @Gcollie3810 Sorry, a 1D is not considered full frame. Canon's only full frame digital SLR's are the 1Ds series and the 5D series. They have a 24mmx36mm sensor.

  • I see you are in Townsville. How do you find the 400mm, I'm thinking about buying one in the next month or so.

  • @thelastnameismine It's fantastic!!! and it's for sale on eBay. I'm thinking about going for a 600 f/4.

  • It's a 1D MkIII

  • @CameronLairdPhoto i was going to say, that's not a 5D b/c the fps was too fast for that camera. sounded like a 1d MIII

  • @kiddokang The video is made by 5D, camera what he is using to shoot with 400mm, is 1D Mark III. You should read that info:

"my 5D MkII (with a 16-35) to my monopod with a magic arm"

  • Nice video

is it canon 1D mark iii or iv ?

  • thanks for sharing :) great pictures

  • Nice piece of glass. However next time you make a video, please clean your video camera lens.

  • @internet155 Not the Lend, the sensor!

  • @liquid2026 Oh noes, Thats not good, i need to get mine cleaned, i have a piece of dust on the mirror.

  • I shall from today be known as the 1st one.
