I always liked the Kung Fu show but I still think there was way too much yak, yak, yak and fortune cookie philosophy in the scripts. The story lines would have been more powerful if he demonstrated more by example than by talk. But that's the fault of the script writers, not the actors. Carradine did a great job as Kwai Chang Cain.

But the Hell Demon lost his hold over Caine with he came to accept his "guilt", as result of when he made his bargain with the Hell Demon as a child. He now realizes the young girl would have died anyway, a form of survivor's guilt because he lived and the girl died.
