Many Iraqi Mi-24 "Hind" helicopter gunships were flown to Iran by their pilots, to escape the Coalition air forces; the Iranians seized them as reparation for damages done in the Iran-Iraq War. But has Iran put these helicopters into service, or are they sitting in a hanger somewhere? I imagine the Iranians could get hold of spare parts and upgrades pretty easily. Can someone tell me? Do they belong to the Army, the Air Force, or the Pasdaran? No one has ever seen a "Hind" in Iranian markings.

With the F-117s crashing due to missing tailfin bolts, and the B-2 crashing due to a wet altimeter, its obvious that price doesn't necessarily mean quality.

Everyone knows that Iran has a completely outdated weaponry system. the American air defense systems delivered to Iran back in the 1970s are inoperable through the lack of spare parts. The Russian S-200 systems have the appropriate range but are practically helpless against highly-maneuverable tactical aircraft. The Chinese S-75s are outdated and useless against modern aircraft.

i don't know how u think ,do u think that the Russian's invented the "SAM's" and just left it that way?? they improve all the time , making it in ever size for every situation , portable,mounted on an truck,fix on ground , an F-18 can evade a single "SAM" missal not by thermal decoys but by a dropping fuel tank , but it cannot evade two missals , as for the raptor i don't know how many "SAM's" it can evade but as far as i know its fuel tanks are undroppable . so u do the math.

2 of the kills were "fratricide" by MIM-23B Hawk sams.happened april 14 and 21 1981.both planes were from TFB.8
the four others confirmed kills are:
1 from the 81TFW august 11 1984 (pilot e-agha KIA / copilot Rostampour ok)

Yes, policy always do it´s turns. And those F-14A can´t actually launch Phoenix missiles, for what the Tomcat was made for.
But... we´re doing a good job on the F-5 around here (even considering our needs, keeping in mind that it´s an outdated fighter and the fact of we don´t like war).

these F-14A launch the phoenix. the first kill with the phoenix was done in September 14
1980 by the 81TFW of the TFB.8 on a SU-20M of the 44FRS of Iraqi air force.
the F-14 number 3-6039 killed a F-1 with a phoenix at a range of 150km february 20 1987
the 3-6052 a MIG-25, same for the 3-6079 etc etc...
Iranian's F-14 not using the phoenix is a legend. 3/4 of their kills were made with phoenix

Are you stupid ? Iran does not use AK-47's , thye have a similar model the kl-7.62 but that has been replaced by kh002 / s-s5.56 and the g3-a3 weapons - they are on a par with any model weapon. They also have specialied arms for infnatry support / sniper etc.
If you want to really know about their army you could try to reserch (taxing on your little brain i know).. they are not a 3rd world country.

the F-14 are the oldest model of F-14 they were sold to them buy the U.S back in the 70's when Iran was a nice place. now they have old U.S stuff with a mix of chinses an russia stuff. just like Iraq. did.

Everyone knows that Iran has a completely outdated weaponry system. the American air defense systems delivered to Iran back in the 1970s are inoperable through the lack of spare parts. The Russian S-200 systems have the appropriate range but are practically helpless against highly-maneuverable tactical aircraft. The Chinese S-75s are outdated and useless against modern aircraft.
