So I replaced the whole front assembly and had everything working until I pushed the logic board back down and now it won't turn on (power button not working)
Hey guys, just wanted to say, i did my ipod screen today, if it doesnt turn back on and there are no visible breakages or anything wrong, try plugging it into your laptop or comp. Mine wasnt turning on so i decided to plug it into my comp, and itunes gave me the option to restore itas apparantly the ipod had gone into recovery mode, it took an hour or so, but my ipods working like brand new again :) x
I replaced my ipod screen and everything works fine except the lock button doesnt work, at all. I havent glued the screen in all the way because i am scared to do so before thats fixed. does anyone know what the problem is? or maybe is it because the screen isnt all the way on? any advice will help
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm still waiting for my new digitizer and LCD to come in the mail. Do you need new adhesives, hair drier and plastic clamps for this, or can you do it without them? I don't have any of those, so that's why I'm asking... Will post back how it works for me in a few days when I try it :)
The LCD ribbon at 10:46, is it supposed to snap down like the first one, or just be placed there? I can't seem to snap it down and my ipod still won't turn on.
I followed all the steps correctly, but now after putting my iphone back together it rarely ever gets 3 bars of service, and i have hardly any service where i was fine before.. any ideas what could have happened?
do u have any suggestions on fitting the screen on? its not "flush" its actually popping out on top... bottom fits fine.. the gap is pretty big, i can fit a toothpick across it... help?
new screen works fine! just doesn't wanna fit in its case!
Hi. When i was replace the screen i forgot to put back the metal to protect the camera the question is. It is necessary to put it back if yes i need do everything again i scared crack the screen when the job is on? I hope you help me. Thanks. Carlos.
just cracks in the screen, the multitouch works, camera, everything its working perfectly,
but now i make any little push to the screen and it flashes like a old plasma-screen, any kind of advice please? this was too expensive...in my coin convertion to dollars, like at least 570dollars. please tell me what i could do
hi, i've got a problem, i just let drop my ipod touch 4g and saw the video, but i'm from venezuela so it's really hard to get it fixed(with your video i see its possible) but there's only 1 apple store near to my country and i don't even think they know how to fix this...y think they only sell, and it's impossible for me to ship it to somewhere because we don't have dollars in venezuela practically...my problem its that the digitizer broke, because everything else works perfectly,
I use that same technique with the clamps on the iPod after its finished. I actually bought the clamps from the 99 cent store. Love em. They are also good for holding the iPod down to a desk while banging out dents with one of the plastic pry tools. U have to break off the tip of the plastic pry tool though.
If you don't have experience, you will end cutting the power ribbon cable, and sometimes break the LCD ribbon cables. There are some professional on eBay, they do all that job for $40 including the LCD, labor and shipping back. I tried to install the LCD myself and ended up breaking the power ribbon cable. After that I sent my iPod to those guys and they did a fantastic job and send the iPod back in the same day they received it. Try it: eBay item # 290641551415
ok i replaced it but the screen is white when i turned it on and the spring at top left is poping out and when i press on the spring and the power button nothing happens y? its just all white
will this glue work for when um done replacing it and want to glue it back h t t p : / / w w w . w a l m a rt . c o m/ip/Instant-Krazy-Glue-2p k/17011353 work? srry about the space just that youtube wont let me paste it so just remove all the spaces
@PwnUrDonkey The retina displace is provided by the oem screens. I have done over 200+ repairs on these iPods and I buy the knock off screens from China. Have never had any complaints about the screens and I personally can't tell a difference in quality.
hey i accidentally took out a small piece from the plastic thing that snap the screen into place... what should i do and how much is for a new plastic frame.....
I notice that you did not transfer the little steel bracket(one that goes around front facing lens),the reason i ask is because i replaced a screen myself and then realised that i had forgotten it but looking at this vid has kind of reassurred me that it is not too disasterous as it still seems to works fine
ummm hi sorry, but i tryed this and well, my problem is that my ipod is sort of flicking white (well has been) not the screen of death, it like is hard to explain like the screen is flickering in diffrent places not the whole thing, i can do stuff like music, but please helo

@Yessabub22 You probably broke the wire to the speaker and it is barley touching causing the scratchy sound.

@ThinkingwithPortals0 The LCD may have damaged during installation. The best thing I can recommend is to try a new screen assembly.
