@silenthill307 the SP model has single slotted flaps as opposed to the triple slotted ones on other 747 models. Instead of a track, these just have hinged arms that rotate down into position. all for weight savings.

@anush10 I think Iran Air can buy any plane over 8 years old or something like that, not from manufacturer but from airlines, so they could buy for example Singapore Airlines 747-400´s if they want, so its not from embargo only that Iran Air uses these old planes.

i don't think that those planes were sold to Iran Air first hand. I guess that Iran Air bought them second hand from some third parties. This obviously means that the US could not always enforce its embargo effecively on Iran :((((
